“Holbox is amazing!!! It is a casual Mexican restaurant where you order at the counter. They offer both raw and cooked seafood. The food was superb, and their customer service is great. We came in for a late snack on a Wednesday night, and the service was fast. I highly recommend it.”

“My third visit and this place still impresses me. Took my daughter Saturday and reserved a nice table towards the front near the lake. The view was fantastic. We dined on Tempura bento boxes, sashimi combos and had amazing drinks of the Watermelon Mezcal and Original Cadillac margaritas. Our service by Brayden was excellent and we had an amazing day. Oh, and we enjoyed the delicious Baked Alaska dessert.”

“This is a very lovely place, with a lovely atmosphere right between the buildings, overlooking the skyline of downtown los angeles. The food here is some of the best in the area. Love the selection and freshness of the sushi. The service was okay until it came time to pay. I had a groupon and the assistant manager told me that the tip was included. Now, I've been a Groupon fan and user for a long time and the tip is never included. It even tells you on the website to tip generously. It's just a manager took it upon himself to add a twenty two percent tip. The waiter did do a great job and I would have given that to him, but it was the principle of adding something that I didn't ask him to, nor did he have to. If you get service from Nile, you're in for a treat, and please tip my man generously. Also, be sure to try the fresh edamame, life changing.”

“The Dover Sole (only available Thursday through Saturday) is absolutely worth the price, which varies as it’s a market price item. It’s lightly breaded and extremely flavorful. We also had sushi, and the sundae for dessert, which were both great. If you like high end new American cuisine this place is definitely worth a visit.”

Sonoritas Prime Tacos

“They recommended Mar Y Terra Burrito but I asked if they have tacos and he told us that they can make it into 2 tacos so I have a customized Mar Y Terra Tacos :) and omg it tastes so good like I was so impressed. The beef is tender with juicy shrimp and the chipotle mayo… I found myself finding a whole new level of Tacos. It’s amazing. Must try.”

Stinkin Crawfish Of Long Beach

“Delicious! I do think this is a step up to boiling crab because of the bigger menu, their incredible sauce and spices, service, and quickness. Everything was so good especially the Stinkin Combo Boil! Wow 10/10. The oysters were so fresh and huge. I also got to try their fries and wings for appetizer and they were solid. Tip: their happy hour got great deals! Tip #2: ask about their secret menu 😉 I love that it's a sports bar but still family friendly! Very casual and the service was amazing! Hope to be back again soon when I'm back in the Long Beach area!”

“The authentic taste of Southern California late on a Saturday night 💋 I eat here often for lunch & I always love it. Just returned from traveling abroad & missed our amazing local cuisine. I was soooo happy that they serve until 10pm on Friday & Saturday evenings. My all time favorite is the grilled trout, a salad & side of grilled veggies/ zucchini, mushrooms & onions made my belly happy! Thanks guys for staying open late!”

“I had a huge seafood craving and stumbled upon this restaurant last night. It was supposed to be boiling crab and then I thought of the horrible wait time and so I decided to give this restaurant a shot (DEEPLY hoping it can be on par with boiling crab 🙏🏼)! So your question is, "Did it impress you?". YOU BET! I was so glad I found this place! 👍🏼 In terms of food, we got sweet potato fries and fried chicken as appetizer! The fried chicken wings were delightful! It tasted as good as the ones from boiling crab. 😋 The chicken meat felt fresh and not too oily! Their fries also tasted fresh with that slight touch of sweetness from the sprinkles of sugar! I loved it! Anyways, on to the main dish! In terms of taste, this is probably on par with the best Cajun seafood I have ever tasted (and no I haven't actually explored the whole LA for Cajun seafood, I have only been to 5 different restaurants that serve this kind of dish, but I enjoyed this place thoroughly, so they deserve to be praised for serving delicious food nonetheless)! 😏 Some of the must try are their quail eggs and clams. Oh and did I mention that their fried Oreo with ice cream was AH-MAEEE-ZING? 🤩 I apologize for not taking a photo of it, I was carried away and only realized this after I finished eating it, haha! 😅 Customer service was very efficient and friendly. Overall, there are 2 things I felt could be better was their sausage. They might have been a little too salty for my taste. Another would be the condition of their couches, they need some attention (I'm not going to go into details because I love this place. You can go and find out for yourselves). If you love Cajun 🦞 🦀 , TRY THIS and you can thank me later!”

A Food Affair

“The food was French influenced. I came for restaurant week LA DINEIN . I was excited to have French food again. The bone marrow was really good over toasts. The escargots were good but I barely tasted the escargots it was masked in the sauce and potatoes. I didn’t like the lemon pie, it was overwhelming. I could barely tasted the wonderful orange zest and pistachio crust.”

“We got the French toast, the shakshouka, the charred broccoli, the bacon wrapped dates, the chilaquiles, the Bacari fries, and the bread pudding. Every bite was delicious. It seemed like some friends were hogging all the chilaquiles to themselves, and rightfully so, they were amazing. Everything was fresh and balanced. It is so easy to lose track of time being in the ambiance with good foods and good friends. Service was on point, the food came out quick and hot. Our waitress was Daniela and she is a rockstar.”

“Pretty packed place! Came on a Saturday noontime and there was a line out the door! Thankfully my relatives came early and got us a spot inside already. We had two big tables. I was looking around for a waiter cause we really needed water (100 degrees today) and I asked a worker nearby. He was awesome and brought water over after he finished the task he was working on! The food was delish!! Parking is plenty and there is even a shaded parking structure. I did see some flies roaming around but those are inevitable.”

“I will start by saying my partner and I love the food there. It’s authentic and great quality. Get there early for dim sum to get their congee. Our beef with the place (this time at least) is the hostess. We understand it’s Jan 1st and that there is a long wait. We have no problem waiting patiently. When it was close to our turn, the hostess announced to the waiting guests to get ordering menu so that it would expedite the dining process. Of course I went to get one. Then less than 2 min in, our number was called so of course we go check in at the front desk. There were a small line so I waited for my turn without hounding the hostess on a stressful busy day for her which took less a min to clear the line. But then she blames us for taking a long time to get to her and she’s been calling us even though she literally just announced our number total about few minutes at this point. I explained to her no you just called and when I tried to get her attention before the line cleared she didn’t respond. But she continued to blame us while taking us to our seat. I’ve spoken to the supposed “manager” she was nice and apologized but didn’t check in on the hostess at all. I understand it was hectic for New Year’s Day and we wanted to courteous by not just get in her face the second our number is called. But it was very inappropriate the way she treated us. The weird part is that the couple after us (a non-Asian couple) was treated in a completely different tone. Then another after them. I was speaking in mostly Mandarin and my partner doesn’t so I explained to her what the hostess was saying to us after we sat down and she was surprised because it felt that we didn’t waste a second as soon as we were called. I guess if the future we just have to be aggressive and be in her face to make sure we don’t waste mere seconds of the hostess time then blame her for wasting ours. The service otherwise was standard dim sum place but because of the first encounter, we didn’t enjoy the experience. Edit: seems like this is an ongoing issue with the hostess. She is infamous being prejudice with Asians and treat non Asians differently. We are going to stop going there now since the management isn’t doing something about that.”

The District By Gs

“I loved The District. We went for a reunion event on a Saturday afternoon. The outdoor patio area was spacious and plenty if needing a few more umbrellas. The chicken and waffles were delicious and hot. The mimosas were plentiful and other cocktails were good as well. It is huge with tons of indoor seating options. Space and stage for a live band and insta-worthy picture ops everywhere. It is beautiful, tasty and soulful. I will definitely recommend and return.”

“The Honey Walnut Chicken is soggy and greasy; I didn't think I'd be one to send back food, but I got the Mongolian Beef instead. Credit to the Beef: it has the taste and texture more like beef liver than actual beef, and that's actually more expensive than beef at restaurants. It's still not something I enjoy, but I'm bringing it home for sad leftovers. The waitress is honestly the most clueless woman I ever got served. Kept asking me exactly what I wanted, but at least confirmed the price with me. For 5 extra dollars, you can get strangely unpleasant steamed rice and decent hot and sour soup with really soggy wontons and an egg roll I left alone. I think the restaurant caters to people who don't know any better. You can get better value at a Panda Express. Edit: Even the obligatory fortune cookie tasted stale and soggy. Edit 2: I have sudden cramps and feel like my stomach is churning. Won't outright say it's food poisoning, but it definitely feels like it. Lowered it to one star.”

“A great spot for authentic Spanish cuisine complete with a large assortment of tapas. Parking is really easy in this area, especially off the service road where the restaurant is located. Our server was really polite and helped us with menu suggestions as well. They really have a lot to choose from and it was hard selecting, because there were so many that we wanted to get. I started off with the Andaluz Gazpacho, and thought it was terrific. One of the better gazpacho‘s that I have had in a long time. Next we ordered some tapas. We ordered the Serano Ham, imported from Spain, the Chorizo, imported from Spain, the Agucate con Cangrejo which is avocado stuffed with Dungeness crab, and for the entrée, we chose to split the black squid ink Arros Negre Paella. We also upgraded to Bomba Rice, which I believe is a good call for an extra $4. The paella was really incredible, I have been to Spain a few times and have paella in many different cities there and thought this one was authentic as well as delicious. Overall a really great dinner especially if you’re a fan of Spanish food. I would recommend to anyone and definitely plan to be back in the near future to try more items.”
