Roma Market
4.7
( 10 reviews )
Open until 05:30 PM

918 N Lake Ave, Pasadena, CA 91104, United States

“This is a small specialty market selling Italian food. The place is well known for its delicious inexpensive Italian sandwiches that are prepared every morning. A lot of people buy these sandwiches so they usually run out by lunch time. The market has a great selection of Imported cookies, bread, pasta, oils canned goods and bottled items. I’ve never tried their frozen pasta and store made sauces but I can vouch for their delicious prosciutto that is sliced on the spot. This is the place to go for charcuterie in Pasadena.”

Dan's Super Subs Inc
4.7
( 8 reviews )

22446 Ventura Blvd, Woodland Hills, CA 91364, United States

“YES! This place is legendary. I had a chance to talk to the owners' nephew/son a bit around lunchtime. Really nice guy, and from a great family. I believe he said they're going to celebrate some 40+ years being open. Cheers to another 40 for sure. This is a family-owned and operated spot. Everyone in the place is friendly with a smile. The Food: Magnificent! You can definitely taste the quality of their meat and cheeses. Also, the care they put into the bread is just beyond belief. It's chewy, it's soft, and it has a nice outer texture. I recommend getting your sandwich toasted for sure to bring out more of the flavors in the cheese and meats. Today I got the turkey and cheese, with all the toppings. Fantastic! You can really tell that the turkey is fresh, has a true old school Deli texture to it, and is definitely A Cut Above any of the other local spots in the area. Honestly, for the amount of meat and cheese they put on their sandwich, they really do put the other places in the area to shame. Especially for the price! Where else can you get a 13 inch classic sub for 13 bucks? All the other delis in the area charge upwards of $16 for something that doesn't even compare to Dan's. 2 pickle wedges on a Large sandwich. Who else does that? Dan's aims to please. Parking: can be tricky around lunch time. They're lot on the side of the building holds maybe four or five cars. It's a little bit tricky backing out. You might be better off parking on the street at one of the meters. Call in your order ahead of time, even better! Atmosphere: If you do decide to sit inside, it's very retro, black and white Checker tables, small little place with a elevated counter to sit at as well closer to the street. But it's definitely a small, packed space. There are a few tables and chairs outside as well. Simplicity is best, and less is more. You'll have to try this place out for yourself and see how wonderful it truly is. A local gem for sure! In short, when it comes to sandwich places in the West San Fernando valley, this place is number one!”

“Always a quick stop for high quality food for a cheap price. Very friendly service and delicious and affordable options. A great choice for lunch or dinner on any night. My go-to is chicken teriyaki but Korean BBQ beef short ribs and Thai BBQ chicken are great options too.”

The Slice & Pint

130 W Grand Ave, El Segundo, CA 90245, United States

“Delicious pan pizza. The dough had tooth to it, and the crust was crispy and flavorful. Beer (mostly from El Segundo brewing who owns this establishment) but there are others and a variety of wines to choose from too. I'd go back for the late night hunger pang I had.”

Lobster & Beer
4.5
( 8 reviews ) $$

3456 Motor Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90034, United States

“Excellent excellent food! The portion sizes are quite generous according to the price. I have paid more $$$ for a lobster roll that had half the portion size in comparison to Lobster &Beer! We tried one of each lobster roll, & I am showing photos of both. The roll/bread is so addicting!!!! so fresh and soft it tastes like it was popped out of the oven within the last hour. I always find myself wanting another the next day! The made from scratch clam chowder is also delicious. The lobster quesadilla is also stellar.! it was gobbled up before I could document it with a photo! 😂🤣 Shawn took our order over the phone & they didn’t miss a beat. This is one of our new go to restaurants that I will be putting on the roster. Edit: The food is still always consistent with lots of lobster! A new favorite is the grilled cheese w/lobster that also comes with a creamy tomato soup “dip”. Amazingly delicious! The clobster roll is mixed crab & lobster, also yummy. The shrimp roll is stuffed full with shrimp. I have included pics of each.”

1760 N Bellflower Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90815, United States

“The teriyaki here is very consistently good. The quality of the meat is great, the pieces are big, and the teriyaki sauce has a great flavor. The chicken is tender, juicy, and are cut to big pieces. The beef was tender and flavorful as well. The sauce is not too overpowering. With the salad and drink this is a complete meal that will leave you full and satisfied. We will definitely come back to dine here again.”

So here we are! Surprise surprise! The place is fantastic, with great breakfast selections. The French toast uses a different type of bread, a healthier bread. The service was excellent, and the breakfast was delicious! The coffee was good too. It's a cute little place with perfect decorations! Two thumbs up!”

Stinkin Crawfish Of Long Beach

150 E Broadway, Long Beach, CA 90802, United States

“Delicious! I do think this is a step up to boiling crab because of the bigger menu, their incredible sauce and spices, service, and quickness. Everything was so good especially the Stinkin Combo Boil! Wow 10/10. The oysters were so fresh and huge. I also got to try their fries and wings for appetizer and they were solid. Tip: their happy hour got great deals! Tip #2: ask about their secret menu 😉 I love that it's a sports bar but still family friendly! Very casual and the service was amazing! Hope to be back again soon when I'm back in the Long Beach area!”

Studio City Farmers Market

“You can find a lot of local produce here every Sunday from early morning till around 1 pm. Seasonal fruit, seafood, bakery, eggs, produces, you name it they have it. The price is on the high side but you got what you pay for. Cant really find the same quality food in high end grocery stores here. This farmer market is a weekly event that I look forward to whenever I am in LA.”

The Arbour
4.7
( 8 reviews )

527 S Lake Ave #120, Pasadena, CA 91101, United States

“I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while. New to the neighborhood (moved here from DTLA) so I’ve been missing pasta from Bestia. Saw good reviews of Arbour and seems like a farm to table concept which is my favorite. We made Saturday night reservations and the hostess walked us to our table right away. The establishment was classic yet still lively and casual enough to not feel very stuffy. Our server Lorna (I hope I spelled her name right) was very welcoming and friendly. She recommended the crab pasta special and wow it did not disappoint! Looked so simple but literally tasted like ocean. My husband got the shrimp pasta which was also amazing! I kept eating off his plate. There were a lot big chunks of shrimp and the creamy sauce was so rich and flavorful without overpowering. Lorna also said the portions are pretty big and she did not lie! We were both stuffed and packed the leftover to go. We also got the Brussels sprouts salad which was refreshing. For drinks I got the limoncello spritz drink and it was also delicious. Overall we loved everything from the food & drink to the service we received. We will definitely be back!”
