“Adorable spot in Highland Park, fast service and really good food. There’s plenty of seating and no wait on a Sunday morning. I recommend the Breakfast Sandwich, and the Moros Cakes are pretty good too. If you’re feelin’ squirrelly their Chocolate Chip cookies are delicious! Tried their Chai Latte and wasn’t disappointed. Very smooth and not too sweet; well balanced. Definitely coming back here to try more of their menu.”

“This location is in Old Town Monrovia on Colorado between Myrtle and Ivy. It was a unique dining experience. I asked for sides of one egg with cheese and bacon to accompany an ordered waffle. The waffle was served with the sides mixed together in a small fruit bowl. I immediately asked what the fruit bowl mixture was and explained that I didn't order that. They apologized and offered to remake it (send it back to the kitchen). I did not accept the offer. My experiences in those types of instances (as of late), do not end well. I decided to continue with my meal. The waffle was flavorful. The mixture would have been fine except for burnt bacon bits. The prices are competitive. Parking is ample due to free public parking lots.”

“I would give this place 4 stars for food, but 2.5 for service. We went for lunch and wanted to order off the menu. Absolutely everyone else in the restaurant was there for the buffet. Though you can order off the menu for lunch, and we did, the waitress treated us as if we were eating from the buffet and mostly ignored us. I had to call across the room to one server to get more water. No one ever came and asked us how the food was or if we needed anything. I ordered a glass of white wine and it was brought to me at room temperature. When I finally saw the waitress again to let her know that the wine was not chilled, she explained why, the bottle wasn't cold... We ordered the appetizer that had four moles on it, which was very good. My husband had the steak with the mole, and I had the wild salmon with a different mole. The salmon did not compliment the flavor of the mole at all. Husband was very happy with steak. This place is definitely an iffy proposition for lunch if you are not planning on eating from the buffet.”

The 4 taco plate had so much meat that I was able to make 8 tacos out of it, and the Carne Asada was so juicy and yummy and flavorful. My husband got the wet burrito with al pastor, and he said the burrito was meaty and it was huge. He wasn't even able to finish it. He loved the rice, and the red sauce was very yummy! Can't wait to go back for different foods next time.”

“Another LA staple. From the DT location to the Pasadena location, they always deliver. I like that they have both outdoor and indoor seating, and it's spacious. My go-to is their OG mini taco sampler plate, it comes with the steak picado, bistek Roja, tinga, mole, chicharron & cochinita pibil. And I highly recommend trying their chicharron (deep fried pork rinds braised in Chile verde). Simply the best! I noticed that they have expanded their menu these days. We also had the ceviche tostada, and I must say, it was unexpectedly fresh! They also have tamale, quesadilla, and breakfast options (breakfast only before 11am) Simply put, one of the best stewy tacos in LA! #bb10”

Would I go back, probably not, but might if friends wanted to go. Cobb salad wouldn’t have been so bad if they would not pre prepared it the morning of or maybe day before. Eating congeal, bacon, fat isn’t what I want on my salad. At 65 I could have had a heart attack if I ate that. So I heated to warm then used paper towel to blot off the oil. VERY GROSS!”

“Weekday lunch for a friend's birthday. It was quiet, and there were not too many guests at the time. The lake view was awesome. Our server didn't impress us. He was just ok. The food was very good, freshly prepared. I enjoyed the fajita salmon salad, and my friend had the steak tostada salad. We had drinks that weren't too memorable, but they suffice. The limes on the sides of our drinks were older and had turned brown in spots.”
