“No call no show from the coach??? Booked one reservation a week in advance for a group lesson for 2:15pm. Arrived at the exact spot I was instructed to at 1:50pm and saw no one in sight. Called the phone number listed on the website at 2:05pm to make sure I was where I was supposed to be and my called was rejected. They immediately texted me asking if I was calling for surf lessons. I responded immediately by saying I already made a reservation but didn’t see anyone. 14 minutes later: “Hold on, I’ll check with the coach.” 5 minutes go by. At this point it’s 10 minutes after my lesson was supposed to have started so I simply say “If the lesson is cancelled, please just let me know now so my refund can be processed and I don’t have to wait around.” 3 minutes later they text and say they’ll be refunding me. I came to LA on vacation and won’t get another opportunity to try surfing for a long time. Therefore, I tried to pick a place that seemed professional and reputable. Turns out, this is not that place. Had they told me the lesson would be canceled even a day earlier, my girlfriend and I would have been able to plan to spend our one allotted day at the beach doing other fun things instead of preparing for a surf lesson that never happened. Had I not contacted them myself, I wonder if they would have ever realized a lesson was scheduled at all. The only thing keeping this review from being a one star rating is that they did process the refund quickly. However, even though I got the email confirmation of the refund quickly, the email stated that the funds would be refunded to my bank account “up to 15 working days” later. TL;DR: Surf anywhere else. Edit: the morning after I left this review they attempted to call my cell phone at 8 in the morning, presumably to confront me about it. I, of course, did not answer.”

“Mackenzie was the best! She fitted me for my next running shoe. She was very considerate of my concerns and gave me a thorough analysis. She explained what I should particularly be looking for in a running shoe and presented me with a few different pairs for me to try. She also offered socks and insoles but was not at all pushy about it. I found the perfect pair of running shoes thanks to her expertise! Also purchased some running socks. She also provided me w/ info and suggested i attend the store's evening runs. Which I may be doing soon :) I will definitely be returning for all of my running needs!”

“This was my first time at the Row House and I already can’t wait to go again!! Everyone there, coaches and class goers alike, were SO nice, welcoming, and friendly. I did a Thursday night row with Coach Jackson where we spent the whole time on the erg (no weights/floor work) who kept us HYPE the whole time. The music, lighting, and singing were well worth the trip to Santa Monica. I sweat my butt off but had the best time doing it!!!”

“Love it, love it, LOVE IT!!!! It's a well maintained track. Plenty of room to walk, jog or run over five lanes. Has been a favorite of mine over time. I used the track when I trained for the LA Marathon 2000!”

“Great little park for kids young people and for adults. Small trail for horses, great for pets, and small sports. For runner joggers and walkers. There's a small horse corral at the edge of the park and small hills to make a challenging workout. Leading out of the park, a trails continues to another park. Easily a 3 mile out and back and possibly up to 6 miles on a good workout . Great parking area, many walkers and older people can be found. If it were a trail in the hills, I would have given it a 5...”

“The classes and instructors are pretty great but entering a classroom and seeing dried sweat pools all over the floor is really gross. Especially when your teacher cues a pose that requires your arms or legs to rest on the sweat-crusted floors. It would be great if some cleaning could be scheduled between classes. Also, it’s kind of disappointing to come here only to see the owner respond with snarky and condescending responses to any critique or concerns.”

“GREAT gym!! Recently joined, but already so happy with the decision. The weekly workout progression delivers a perfect balance of cardio and lifting, the coaches make an effort to get to know you and push you towards your goals, and everyone is super friendly. Couldn't recommend more for everyone in Santa Monica that is looking for a gym community!”

“Me and my husband went to this park in Altadena and we love it. The park is clean, and the ambiance is perfect for us. It has it’s own solemnity even though there are other people in the park playing, chatting and kids running around still me and my husband enjoy our time. We had our little picnic there. They have grillers that you can use to cook/bbq and have enough tables to sit and eating spots. The neighborhood is very disciplined, has a lot of possible spots to park around the park. We will come back again to sit and relax in this park.”

“It's a long and winding road up the mountain to get here, but it's all worth the drive! It's breathtaking beautiful up here. The air up here is wonderful. The campground was clean and instructions easy. There are restrooms around thecampsited that's easy to get to, also fairly clean. There are fire pits and the ground is not hard to stake your tent down into. Beautiful trees, lots of oaks. There is a small Cafe/shop across the street if you need anything. The guy running the store is super friendly and helpful. There are absolutely no lights around the campsite after dark so be sure to bring your own. Saw some squirrels, heard some woodpeckers and other various birds, but didn't see any other animals, although I have heard others seeing bigger animals on the campground. It is bear country, but luckily didn't run into any. It is amazing to look at the stars at night up here! The wind was very high later in the night. It's a great spot for camping!”

“A beautiful gold course withal an area for putting practice, a driving range, food, and a decent sized golf course (for the LA area). The staff was friendly even the maintenance man was super nice! The grass was soft and sprawling hills looked like a decent challenge. It even had a decently tall fence to protect the local area because it is smack dab in the middle of town.”

“As a pilot from the UK I wanted to experience some flying whilst in LA, and boy did it deliver. Incredible fun flying up the coast and back. If you want to fly then I highly recommend giving Santa Monica Flyers a call. Thank you ✈️”

“Large climbing gym with boulder walls and lead climbing. Came here on a Saturday afternoon and bouldered. The bathrooms are spacious and there are showers. The gym has a fair amount of equipment. Parking is available around the building (one way street) but if it’s full, there’s plenty of street parking as well. There’s a good mix of beginner as well as harder routes, but I felt that even the V0s and V1s were a bit spicy. You need to sign a waiver online beforehand. There are Groupons available for climbing classes which include a gym pass.”

“I really like coming to this pool for my kids lessons. They offer free and low cost classes and are open year round. Staff is nice and the pool is large and open year round. Unfortunately, the parking is small and there are a lot of homeless coming in to shower. There are signs stating no nudity, meaning you have to shower in your swim suit. People don't follow this rule, specifically on the men's side. My boys have told me that there are naked old men walking around. My husband confirmed this and has even confronted these men and pointed at the signs. Staff has been made aware but they don't enforce their no nudity rule. Also you have to walk through the locker rooms in order to get in. Wish there was an option to go around.”

“I like this place being like So Cal wilderness in the middle of the valley. I have seen Canadian geese, Cardinals, Herons, Blue Jays, Hawks, Owls. Kind of feel like hobos are lurking about though.”

“Sanctuary Fitness is amazing! I am exploring different gyms & classes in Pasadena recently and immediately become a big fun of sanctuary fitness. ALL instructors are so kind and encouraging. They not only explain different moves in details but also offer alternatives to help you. The environment is also great. Definitely worth your time to check it out.”

“13+ years playing airsoft around the country, never been to a field that doesn’t require a barrel bag. Lovely hearing the owner come into staging repeatedly screaming about not test firing your guns, a problem that could avoided with a $4 bag. I can’t stress how much I don’t want to see some kids uncovered muzzle pointed directly at my face when I’m in a staging area. This is an industry standard for a reason.”
610 E Valley Blvd, Alhambra, CA 91801, United States
“This planet fitness has to be the worst one I’ve been to. Not only because of the lack of operable machines but the staff seem to be a little too close to some people that come everyday. The same people you see on a regular hog all the machines and weights and will literally try and fight you over simply asking if you could take a turn. The staff handles these situations poorly so there will always be a weird favoritism thing going on here”
