“(it contains no spoilers) I went yesterday for the first time with my boyfriend and we were warmly greeted by super friendly staff, all dressed up on the theme of the place. Shortly after our arrival we could go to our chosen room (the crypt), and everything was awesome. The decoration, the ambiance... The puzzles were cool and there were just few padlocks, what's great. But... (and here's the reason for the three stars) one of the puzzles didn't work. So we kept trying to find a mistake, loosing a lot of time (5-10min, what's a lot in a game like this), until we gave up and went for clues. And our solution was right, but the puzzle wasn't triggered by our response so we kept trying another couple of times until the puzzle worked and gave us the next clues. At the end we couldn't finish the room and although I can't tell we could've finished with the extra minutes (we were close to, according to the game master), it was still super frustrating to have lost precious time because of a failure in the mechanics of the game. We asked for some compensation and were offered to have our passports stamped (they have a cute passport for people that play), and that was it. It was really upsetting, because it felt not fair to be unable to get closer to complete the game because of a game problem. The room was fantastic, though. So, again, I'm trying to write a fair review despite the fact that I'm really annoyed and upset with the situation.”

My sister was too young to do hair relaxin one of the girls did her hair for free when she saw her sad. The swimming pool services are beyond. Baby sitting services are excellent. “Will, our concierge, was the first person to greet us at 1 Hotel after our 14 hour flight from Sydney to LA. He made us feel at home and at ease straight away. EVERY staff member we interacted with (valet, breakfast, house keeping, front desk) were exactly the same as Will, and that is, kind, courteous and willing to do whatever they could over our 4 night stay to make it as relaxing and pleasant as possible. Our connecting rooms, 1001 and 1002, were spectacular. So clean and comfortable and just a great space to relax and look forward to coming home too after our days adventures. We and the kids loved it. The hotel lobby, courtyard gardens, and pool deck were just so nicely arranged, especially with all the Christmas lights and decorations!, it was truly hard to believe we were in the middle of West Hollywood on Sunset Blvd. What an amazing hotel experience. Thank you to all the team at 1 Hotel for making our first leg of our US trip a truly memorable one. ☆☆☆☆☆”

However, it would be great if the laundry had a coin machine to get quarters for washing clothes. The front desk didn’t have coins to exchange and it would’ve been nice to get some for laundry. “We stayed there for 7 nights. Grandmother, adult son and adult grandson. The room was simple and clean, our room in particular had a small kitchenette with a microwave, but no oven, dishwasher or kitchen accessories, so we bought disposable plates and cups. The breakfast at the hotel was bagels and bread, a bit monotonous for so many days, but the breakfast lady was extremely nice so we wouldn't complain about the food. The hotel is almost on Walk and Fame so the location was very good. This is a reasonable hotel/motel located centrally in Hollywood. You could hire your own driver to take you around the city, Mr. Ifti, a very nice man, originally from India. We used him the last few days, but regretted not using him before. Much better to use him instead of the hop on hop off bus, or celebrity tour. We will definitely stay there on a later occasion, this because of the price and the location and the very nice staff.”

“Another great stay at a home2 suites. Stayed 6 nights with a guest and while the hot breakfast was limited there was an enormous amount of fresh muffins, bagels, cereal, yogurt and add ons. The staff still makes up the rooms daily and the front desk was very helpful in solving an initial problem (we caused). If the prices stay comparable once the Top Golf and Golf Course opens, we would stay here again. Note... The location gave us many paths to avoid the inhumane LA traffic.”

“Overall it’s nice. Very clean rooms and The staff were wonderful and the most memorable thing about the place. They helped us sort out a room with a king sized bed when I messed up the booking and were super sweet to me while explaining what I got wrong. 10/10 front desk. We didn’t swim but the pool looked beautiful. A few gripes were that there was no hot water. Showers only get lukewarm (my girlfriend got sick and was absolutely dying for a hot shower to help her feel better.) and there’s not much in the way of water pressure. House keeping/maintenance also tried coming in twice while we were indecent which wasn’t cool. I understand house keeping checks but there was literally no knocking or warning. The only thing that saved us was the metal latch. There also aren’t microwaves in the rooms which is fine I guess but figured for $170 a night they’d have one. The location also is a bit out of the way but has lots of fast food options nearby as well as a liquor store right next door. (Which is a bit pricey)”

“The rooms are nice. The gym is about normal, they have a cable machine without a lot of attachments and dumbbells up to 50lb. It's centrally located in Hollywood to many attractions. The surrounding area is pretty rough though. I parked on the street overnight with no issues. The parking meters go from 9am to 7pm.”

“I usually don’t write reviews, however this establishment deserves one. We arrived early during an unexpected heat wave. 1:30p, regular check in is 4pm. they did an amazing job at getting a room prepped quickly for us. All parking is valet, so we never had to worry about if parking would be available or not. The staff are all incredibly friendly. The continental breakfast is good. We were there for 4 mornings and the breakfast switches a little each day to give a good variety of items. My kids loved the sausage, bacon and the different waffles batters. Loved having different juice options. Room was very clean, never had a hard time getting extra clean towels. Pool was heated and open until 10p every night which was perfect to night swim after the sun went down. Bed was a little harder than I like, but all in all it was a great experience and I would definitely stay here again.”

“Their carpet and furniture looked new and clean. It was quiet to sleep and had a view to the city (which is hard for a hotel in a big city). Their front desk helped reservations from another website well (some places say they can't help due to another website) even on the phone and sent towels/blankets to the room right away. They provide free parking and an assigned parking slip, showing that only customers staying in the hotel can park there, and they manage their parking lot (not all hotels do). Very happy to finally find a place to stay when visiting this area, despite two suggestions below. Hotels in Downtown LA charge too much for parking ($50-$70) with mostly only valet parking. Hotels near the ocean usually have only some views and low quality rooms. ------- suggestions 1. A microwave in the room will help a lot, for people to have a quick breakfast from taken out food, brush teeth, and leave. Their microwave was in the break room near their parking lot, somewhat inconvenient. Otherwise, need to go outside for breakfast, come back, and leave again. 2. A bigger refrigerator than their mini one will help people who are traveling for multiple days and need certain things.”

“I stay here exactly one year ago today. The hotel is really nice. The breakfast was good. You got to beat the crowd though. The accomodations are very nice. The manager should check behind the house keeping staff. There was hair on the bathroom floor, candy on the by the bed. The tub needed a thorough cleaning.The sink stopper didn't work and my last two days, the shower was ice cold, no matter how long I let the water run. Would stay at the location again? YES! It is a nice hotel with nice rooms. The location is nice but nothing in walking distance but a gas station and a Jack in the Box, and a Denny's where I had to send my food back. 🙂”
