“We visited on Thanksgiving day. It was not so busy. If you really love to eat meats a lot, it is great. But I prefer to eat best meat a little bit, so it is not the best restaurant for me. Meats was not so tasty. I loved shrimp and salmon because they had great seasoning. Otherwise meats are same taste. I may not go again. But meat lover would love this place. Appetizer was good!”

“Rose Canyon Cantina, is one of the magical hideaway places, away from the city, tucked into the hills with a beautiful natural surrounding. Approaching from the outside, it is a colorful restaurant with a large outdoor expansive deck shaded by large majestic trees and umbrellas. The trees are wrapped in strings of lights, making it feel even more enchanting at night. The water features, from the water fountain in front, to the really large waterfall in the back are spectacular. The check in lobby area is small, but quaint and welcoming. The interior again proudly displays its colors, from the beautiful pictures, to the brightly lit bar displaying all the bottles and under lit green glow around the seating. The staff is professional and friendly. I originally asked to dine in but quickly changed my mind after surveying the ambience out back. Once seated, I ordered their Signature happy hour margarita and decided upon a two item combination dinner to sample their fish taco and beef flauta. My +1 decided upon enchiladas with spinach and shrimp. After ordering, I excitedly began taking pictures of the surroundings. Our order arrived in a short amount of time and the servers were fantastically attentive in providing drinks, water or anything else you might need. The food was hot and looked delicious. The items looked fresh and carefully made and authentic. The quality of the food was incomparable and high above any large chain Mexican restaurant. The food was savory and scrumptious. I especially enjoyed my visit to Rose Canyon Cantina, from the backwoods drive through the hills going past Cook's Corner to this hidden little gem with extraordinary authentic Mexican fare. This is one of those places you hesitate to tell too many others about, but plan to visit often.”

Until today when I had my husband pick up a quart of the bean soup that not to mention is served to EVERYONE who walks in the restaurant. Mind you i was looking forward to eating this all day. The red one with the lobster enchiladas, however, reminded us of tomato sauce above anything else and the texture of lobster was quite soggy. The beans also tasted watered down BUT the churros evened out everything. They were a treat! All over a great visit. Our waitress was kind and charismatic and nothing beats the location.”

The server recommended Molé which was fantastic if you like sweet Molé. I loved the parking especially because it was wide spots that your car would not get dinged. Definitely enough for one person...and quite possibly 2 people if neither are huge eaters. Service was great. Atmosphere was nice with exception of the chairs which were rather uncomfortable. I found myself shifting around in my seat quite carefully few times. Restrooms were very clean. Overall, it was a good experience. I'd definitely go back to experience an evening meal.”

”Went here on a whim after a day at Universal Studios -- my wife and I are both on SoCal but have lived out of state for several years. Whenever we're back we MUST get some amazing food from some of our favorite chefs, and I'd long wanted to check out one of Chef Antonia's restaurants. We knew we needed to be close to DTLA to see a movie at Alamo Drafthouse and this was the perfect stop right before the movie. We had phenomenal service and stunningly good food -- elevated tapas that don't lose their grounding in the ingredients and the heritage of the dishes. We didn't have a bad bite. All the large plates are probably great but we loved getting 5 or so small plates and each got the sangria, which came with seasonal fruit and brandy and amaretto. What a great mix and perfect for a hot summer day. I'll be stealing that recipe. We got the empanadas, guacamole, arepa, and calamari and thru were each lights out. If we didn't have to catch a movie we could have easily ordered 3 or more additional plates. Perfect portions to where you feel each one is worth the money but you also don't feel like you're going to starve. Super yummy... you could easily spend a couple hours here and couldn't possibly have a bad time. We'll be back!”
