”Rose Canyon Cantina, is one of the magical hideaway places, away from the city, tucked into the hills with a beautiful natural surrounding. Approaching from the outside, it is a colorful restaurant with a large outdoor expansive deck shaded by large majestic trees and umbrellas. The trees are wrapped in strings of lights, making it feel even more enchanting at night. The water features, from the water fountain in front, to the really large waterfall in the back are spectacular. The check in lobby area is small, but quaint and welcoming. The interior again proudly displays its colors, from the beautiful pictures, to the brightly lit bar displaying all the bottles and under lit green glow around the seating. The staff is professional and friendly. I originally asked to dine in but quickly changed my mind after surveying the ambience out back. Once seated, I ordered their Signature happy hour margarita and decided upon a two item combination dinner to sample their fish taco and beef flauta. My +1 decided upon enchiladas with spinach and shrimp. After ordering, I excitedly began taking pictures of the surroundings. Our order arrived in a short amount of time and the servers were fantastically attentive in providing drinks, water or anything else you might need. The food was hot and looked delicious. The items looked fresh and carefully made and authentic. The quality of the food was incomparable and high above any large chain Mexican restaurant. The food was savory and scrumptious. I especially enjoyed my visit to Rose Canyon Cantina, from the backwoods drive through the hills going past Cook's Corner to this hidden little gem with extraordinary authentic Mexican fare. This is one of those places you hesitate to tell too many others about, but plan to visit often.”

”I love Tri-tip, but here the chicken is so good that it is a cointoss on which I would choose! Which is why I usually get the combo option. We recently discovered the burrito bowl! We go to the salsa bar and get Pico de Gallo, Original Salsa, Marinated Onions, and Limes...and add it all to the bowl. It is a very large meal for 1 person, but we are both full if we share it! Our friend ate the whole thing by himself and was full 4 hours later! Images below is what it looked like when we split it onto 2 plates. We also had Guacamole and added it to the plates. I definitely recommend their Guacamole! Also the burrito bowl comes with homemade tortilla chips! So good! Don't forget the salsa/ guacamole to dip in!”

”I stopped by on Friday with a friend of mine. She wasn't really hungry so she asked me to order her Natural Cut Fries and Potato Salad. I ordered myself, Half Chicken and Mac N Cheese. I had to wait a bit to get help, but I was understanding because I've worked restaurants before. Mrs. Calhoun's (owner) took my order then I sat in a table. After she helped few customers behind me, she asked me if I wanted an additional plate since she noticed I came with my friend. I said yes, and thank you. People kept coming in to order and others were waiting on their orders. I immediately knew this place was going be good. Once she brought our food, she noticed the table was a bit dirty so she immediately cleaned it herself before giving us our food. I loved the BBQ flavor sauce and the chicken was tender. The Mac N Cheese had black pepper and good cheese texture. I also would like to mention the cup size was perfect for my feasting. I will definitely be back! She gave good service, the food is flavorful. Even my friend liked the food a lot. I plan to go again and this time take my sister and mom with me. I hope and know that in the near future Calhoun's Family Texas BBQ will get a bigger location so there is more seating. I will definitely be able take my siblings and their kiddos. But in the meantime I might just need place a catering order and just let my family try it here at the house, no matter what Calhoun's Family is serving our communities with flavorful BBQ meals, good heart and staying strong through it all. ”Friendly staff, quite a few out of the ordinary options for the pizza. Typical price if you don't order drinks, prices are pretty reasonable. The menu is diverse enough that everyone in your group should be able to find something that appeals. Restaurant is very loud inside or outside, if you have hearing problems in your party, I would definitely recommend either going on a week night when it's not super busy or getting your food to go. I had the privateer pie, which was delicious! Thin crust, the walnut pesto was yummy. Definitely large enough for two. The eggplant Parm was good, but by itself overwhelmed by the tomato flavor. I'd recommend a salad or side to go with it.”

”Fun place to dine for casual fare. Service was wonderful and attentive and we went at the height of dinner! We had made a reservation in advance based on other reviews and had zero issues getting seated. We went for the fried chicken which was cooked well. It was juicy, nice and tender inside however we were underwhelmed by the batter. The hot sauce it comes with was SPICY and added a nice zing to the chicken. We agreed that the batter in the fried chicken was more of a taste preference thing, we tend to like a lighter batter. The shrimp and grits was delicious and creamy and the cocktail menu had some fun choices. We also tried the pork belly which was tasty. Hatch is a cute spot, in a good location with great service.”
