Sf City Guides

( 8 reviews )
Close until 10:00 AM

100 Larkin St, San Francisco, CA 94102, United States

“Oh my, what a treasure City Guide Tours is! We went on 3 this visit and each one was fabulous! I do not remember all of our tour guides names except Gail, but the 3 women were amazing! They were each so well organized, researched and friendly. If you want to see and/or learn about San Francisco I cannot think of a better way. I wish we had known about these tours on previous visits. The tours are all donation based so folks of all income levels can participate and give according to their ability. What a gift and resource this volunteer tour program is!”

The Gamble House

( 8 reviews )
Close until 10:00 AM

4 Westmoreland Pl, Pasadena, CA 91103, United States

“Are you a fan of Back to the Future? Then come visit the Gamble House (of Proctor and Gamble). This is where they filmed the exterior shots of Doc Brown's house and garage. I took both an interior tour and a walking tour of the neighborhood. Lots of great historical information on mid-century Craftsman homes, architecture and the Gamble family. The extra fun aspect is how this location was used in Back to the Future! Be sure to get your tour tickets in advance online.”

Pacific Pinball Museum
4.8
( 8 reviews )

1510 Webster St, Alameda, CA 94501, United States

“This place is amazing and a real treasure! One entry fee for all-you-can-play pinball! The machines are in very good condition and each one features signage detailing the history and significance of the game. The non-profit Pacific Pinball Museum takes its mission seriously, educating the public about the art and sport of pinball. They also have awesome jukeboxes, free to play, with music from the decade matching each game room they are found in. Admission price is totally reasonable, they do offer a student/senior/teacher discount and I got my money's worth in the first hour of play! Personally I prefer to pay one price, then play for free, compared with paying for each game as I go. The city of Alameda is clean and safe, unlike neighboring Oakland, and there are places to eat nearby if you get hungry and take a break from playing pinball; the PPM gives you a wristband to leave and come back in on the same day. The staff is friendly and they obviously love what they do. I recommend setting aside several hours to enjoy all the various pinball tables and exhibits. They also have merch for sale. Admission is half price on Tuesdays. You cannot go wrong with the Pacific Pinball Museum because it is a TON of FUN!!!”

“The museum was very educational. I learned a lot about what they went through, unbelievable. They have the museum set up very nicely. On the outside, the trails are very wide and flat and easy to walk on for all ages. They have ponds on the trail, too. I highly recommend going.”

John Muir National Historic Site
4.7
( 8 reviews )

4202 Alhambra Ave, Martinez, CA 94553, United States

“Crazy how we stumbled on this returning home from visiting the Marin Headlands but here goes. I knew a little something about John Muir and his legacy including his cofounding of the Sierra Club. My university has his entire library and collection of written works which are accessible online. He got to write about his adventures and political advocacy with the comfort of the mansion, property, and his wife's family resources and friends support. I did learn more about his later years and it's interesting to think about how far he walked with what a piece of bread in his pocket from Martinez to Yosemite. He traveled to various continents. I had a blast ringing the bell!”

Lesher Center For The Arts
4.7
( 8 reviews )

1601 Civic Dr, Walnut Creek, CA 94596, United States

”Great place to see the performing arts. Everyone put on a great performance tonight. On a side note: Please remember this is not a "Movie" theater. Please bring age appropriate children because they will be scared of the loud special effects. Lastly please just follow the rules and put your phones away. It ruins the experience when the staff has to shoosh your kids. Limited wheelchair seating if you can not transfer, the accessible seats are only if you can transfer out of your wheelchair.”

Scott Creek County Beach
4.7
( 8 reviews )

2QQC+QR, Davenport, CA 95017, United States

”This might be my favorite beach of all time. It was too cold to even consider going in the water but the views were breathtaking. It was also completely empty, we were the only ones there in the middle of the day. We were just stopping for a minute but ended up staying awhile and walking the whole thing. This looks like a great place to camp. If I lived in Cali I'd visit here all the time. The pictures do not do it justice, it feels like a place out of a movie.”
