“Daichan was recommended by my Japanese colleagues as “authentic” so I was very excited to try it. Absolutely loved everything about the place. The food and service were fantastic. I love eating at unassuming restaurants that focus on food and service vs trying to be fancy. It’s a small restaurant that gets very busy so you will need to be patient. Can’t wait to go back and try all the other dishes.”

“This place right here!!!! Man, the collard greens were the best I’ve ever tasted, and I love me some collard greens!!! The Red Snapper was superb!!! The prices were excellent!!! I was visiting from San Diego, I really wanted to go back and take some food home with me but I ran out of time. The young lady who served us was so patient and kind with us, we will be back! We might just fly there to get some more of their food!!!”

“Our wait time was maybe 15 minutes. The portions are very generous, I wasn’t expecting my fish sandwich to be so large. The coleslaw on the sandwich was delicious as well and I liked that the cabbage wasn’t diced but more-so shredded. The seasoning of all of the seafood was wonderful. The fried shrimp was my absolute favorite. They were also very generous with sauces: tartar and hot sauce. And we shared a grape soda flavored lemonade which was wonderful. Lastly, who doesn’t love a black owned business❤️”

“Brought my friends to the Packing District to try something new. We ordered chili cheese fries to share. They were pretty delicious. Not my favorite chili for fries but it was pretty tasty and definitely enough to share. We also got some bbq pulled pork sliders to share. Very flavorful and a good option for sharing with the 3 of us.”

“I’m glad I took my friends here. I ordered the jerk Jamaican over rice it was delicious!! It had the perfect balance of spices, tenderness, and sweetness! Fries are my must-haves, while i'm not a crinkle cut enthusiast, these were absolutely satisfying , prefectly crisp, soft, and flavorful. My order also came with cornbread! Of course we got dessert. I really wanted to try the caramel cake but it was sold out. However, they had my favorite — red velvet!! The ambiance was cozy and welcoming, and the staff were friendly. My go to recommendation for soul food!!”

“First of all, a huge shout out and thank you to Christian. He really saved the day at the Dunbar! He is one of the most respectful, attentive, polite, and hardest working young men I have seen in a long while ... and with a smile. My last experience left a poor review about 6 months ago. I returned for a second chance. The atmosphere is lovely with a nice layout of both high and low tables for comfort dining. This time, I was seated immediately after Christian answered a few questions. When he saw the other server had not taken my order, he jumped in and took care of it. He paid attention to all details, even letting me know my order was ready, but missing one piece of breast and asked if he could bring it out hot so I could get started. He went above and beyond. My entire meal was on point! There is plenty of food, great price point, and enough for a second meat in my to go box. I was so full I took Banana pudding home. After I walked around the neighborhood a bit, I returned for a few minutes for the Sunday live Jazz music. What a bonus! I highly recommend Sunday after 12:30 to catch some amazing musicians.”

“For the tightness of the space, they really deliver big family restaurant. My Sista Lee meal, wasn’t incredible and very basic. But my family got the “red velvet”, and love it. They raved about the chicken wings and the waffles being so good that they didn’t have to add syrup. The atmosphere is tight but very comfortable, clean, and with good jazz.”

“Are you looking for some seafood / soul food? Well then you gotta stop in and try Fishbone . Fishbone is located in Menifee, CA off of Newport rd in the sprouts parking lot. Yesterday I had the small grilled shrimp salad for lunch and a co worker had the Cajun Jumbo Shrimp with a side of fries. The grilled shrimp salad came with grilled shrimp and grilled sliced bell peppers and onions. My salad came with about 8 shrimp. You have the option to get add the bell peppers and onion or not. You also get the option of 3 different salad dressing to go with your salad from ranch, thousands island, or a balsamic vinegar. My co worker had gotten the Cajun Jumbo Shrimp 10 piece which came with 2 hush puppies and a roll and then he had got a side of fries. I can’t wait to go back and try something else like there Cajun catfish or even some peach cobbler.”
