“We have been customers for over 10 years, we always get the kimchi burger with an egg. The burger is massive at 1/3 lbs. it’s such a fun and sloppy eat. There no way to eat this burger without something spilling out on the back or side of the burger. The burger is so full that f flavor from the kimchi, bacon, egg and the beef patty itself. I have to wait a long while for my burger and I feel this wasn’t the best kimchi burger I ever had at this restaurant. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Must get the kimchi fries too!!!”

”We came to Gunbae after Brookfield Mall closed at 8:30 pm, looking for kimchi fried rice. They didn't have it, so we ordered the seafood stew, fried chicken & seafood pancake. The food was excellent as was the service. The wings were slightly cold so the waiter quickly brought new ones. Serving sizes are larger than expected. There's a nice looking karaoke bar downstairs. Highly recommended for Korean food near the World Trade Center area.”

”This was quite possibly the most disappointing dinner I've ever had. I had heard good things about JOEY and wanted to give it a try. To start the appetizer we ordered, it was sent to the wrong table, so there was an extended wait for it to arrive. We ordered the sake glazed fish, which was Chilean Sea Bass, and the steak & sushi with the add for filet mignon. First, the Chilean sea bass was undercooked and had a strong fishy taste to it. Fresh fish shouldn't taste fishy. The filet mignon I ordered medium, and it was well done with very little pink. Most of the pieces were gray. The service was below standard as well. When all I was drinking was water and my glass was empty, I shouldn't have to ask for it to be refilled. One last thing, and I know this may not matter to anyone else, but when you're paying this much, why are cloth napkins not used?”

”We have been there a few times and we keep coming back, because of the service and the atmosphere. The place isn't fancy, but it's a great place to sit and talk while eating. I love their tea. It comes in a traditional teapot and with the leaves. Ask for the chef's special, the waiters know each one of them and they don't disappoint. I like to order the volcano, because it's a show. It actually comes a plate of food with fire around it.”

”In general this is an ok Korean BBQ. Maybe the hotpot is better? We had to wait for two hours when we signed in so we drove home, 30mins later we got a text that we were next on line. Worried we would lose our spot we drove over quickly and we're still able to get in. They had a weird system with the drinks that you had to order with the waiter, everything else through the tablet. This would not have been an issue but all of the workers were always running around and are hard to get their attention. The servers gave off a stressed vibe so I assume understaffed? Our food came at a good rate and was tasty. The sauce area had a lot of options but not all of the small bowls were clean. We got some shitaki mushrooms and they were very hard to eat. During the whole meal they had music blaring so it was not possible for us to talk with each other. We also got a large table for two people so we felt really far from each other. Overall not my favorite Korean BBQ place in the bay but not at a bad price.”

The Korean fried chicken, described as such, ended up resembling a buffalo chicken tender with ranch dressing rather than the anticipated Korean flair. This was an unexpected letdown. Additionally, the crispy dumplings failed to live up to their name – lacking the desired crunch. The food fell a little short. Was it good? Yes, but it wasn’t enough for me to ponder when I immediately will return. However, I am up to give it another whirl because the team seems legit. Food: The tofu soup is quite average, but I really liked the mixed bean rice and the potato appetizer. Other than that, the rest of the dining experience was alright but it wasn’t extremely special. I got the mushroom and beef tofu soup. The mushroom was a little bit overwhelming in taste. Service: Food came in around 20 minutes and appetizers in 5. The great part is that the appetizers are unlimited! Ambiance: Super packed and casual place. By any means, this wasn’t a bad place to go, but wasn’t super great by my tofu soup standards.”
