“So the cost of the tasting menu was around $400 with all of the fees. The food was tailored around the theme of nostalgia and used a lot of local ingredients including seafood and vegetable and fruits. The dining experience is communal but I was cut off from the other party with the floral arrangement which made it a pretty isolating experience. Which could be good or bad for you depending on if you want socialize. The meal started off with a very earthy, floral tea. One of my favorite dishes was the slice of corn whatever you want to call it with caviar. Overall, the food was good. I felt really rushed. The experience is supposed to be two and a half to 3 hours but I was done around 2 hours or less. They also moved me before the dessert course to the upstairs room which was kind of uncomfortable. I thought I was being moved because they overbooked but nobody ever sat in my seat. I would have preferred to stay at the table. I was the only one up there. A lot of the dishes are very heavy. There wasn't much to break it apart in terms of something light or acidic. There was just a slice of peach during the duck portion. But then I was really full, plus being kind of rushed, the course after that was wagyu which I couldn't really enjoy because there was no breakup of flavors and well time. The duck breast was very good and then there was a box that come with a duck liver moose and beef jerky and a couple of other things. After the wagyu was the dessert which at least the melon was refreshing and then I did like the strawberry shortcake. The desserts were the weakest part of the menu for me. But overall I just felt rushed and kind of uncomfortable. I guess I expected it to be a bit more how do I put it... Cohesive? Comfortable? I didn't expect any flaws. I didn't love every dish. Do I think it was worth what I paid? I am not sure. Would I go back? I don't think so. I'll also add that I asked a couple of times for the drink menu, but I just got suggestions and didn't realize I would be paying $60 for two drinks on top of the meal. I could have just gotten the wine pairing at that rate. Some things were really good but I think they could have been enjoyed even more if I felt like I had time to savor them. There are a bunch of different servers that come at different times and they do provide a lot of information about each plate, which is great but also, just ease up a little. Part of the atmosphere is part of the food experience and feeling anxious or nervous because of the pacing doesn't really add anything to the experience in my opinion. But overall stuff was pretty friendly. I thought they were a bit stiff on their deliveries sometimes which surprised me as well. But it was a good experience. Something new at least. Have I had tasting courses I enjoyed more for a lot less? Yes.”

Ended up finding Kitchen 121 on google maps and it totally blew my expectations! The facility was clean, and staff helpful and accommodating. The baked salmon sushi roll was so good I had to order a second round. My two year old daughter loved the salmon rice bowl(staff even gave her a pair of kiddie chopsticks). Will 100% be visiting again. Can't recommend this place enough.”

“Second time eating here, I liked it even better. This is the only place where I feel the sushi tastes like how I am familiar with. They are good with their fish, either raw or cooked. I rarely like eel nigiri or just eel in general (like unagi don) unless it’s cooked alright but tonight it was my favorite. It was absolutely delicious so was everything else. By far the best Japanese restaurant I’ve been to in AZ. Will def go back😋”

“The Omakase tasting meal here is the pinnacle of a culinary experience in a comfortable, non-pretentious atmosphere. Sublime flavors with out of this world presentation. Jesse is an incredible chef and host who deserves all of the awards and praise he has received. I wish I could rate this higher than a 5 as it was a top 3 lifetime meal for me. If you are lucky enough to get a seat at the Omakase table, you will not be disappointed. Still thinking about the meal a day later and probably will be weeks from now.”

“This is a loaded review as I ordered sushi for takeout and did not dine-in. The hot rolls i ordered were soggy and cold by the time I got home ~15mins. This is for sure partially my fault for ordering sushi for takeout....i don't recommend doing that, especially with cooked rolls. Everything else was good, I liked the tuna app and would try it again. I could see the coconut shrimp being amazing if I would have eating them fresh instead of having take out. Will give another shot and update review accordingly. For 4 rolls and the tuna app it was $65.00”

“My husband and I decided to try this restaurant for dinner on November 17, 2023, around 7:30 p.m. He had eaten at one other Ramen place before this one. I had never eaten at any other Ramen restaurant prior to going here. For the appetizers, my husband ordered the Mochi Ko Chicken, and I ordered the Charsiu. Neither of us ever had these dishes before. He enjoyed the chicken, I thought it was ok; yet I didn't think it tasted like chicken. The Charsiu was ok. It tasted like a cross between pork belly and ribs. For our entrées, my husband ordered the Hot & Spicy Seafood Ramen, and I ordered the Rib Eye Steak Ramen. We both enjoyed our Ramen. The restaurant seemed to be a popular place on Friday around 7ish. It was pretty packed when we arrived. However, we were seated right away. While there, people just kept coming to dine. It was a great experience for me, considering this was the first time I tried Ramen at a restaurant; it was much different and better than the store bought stuff. We would recommend this place if you happen to be in the area or wish to try something new. We will be back. We gave it a 4 rating because of the following: the place was small, we asked for entrées after we finished our appetizers, yet we received while eating our appetizers and finally we requested extra spicy and it wasn't spicy at all. Other than that, the staff were nice/ timely, and their prices were reasonable.”

“I love neighborhood restaurants and this little place meets all the requirements. A familiar atmosphere, unpretentious, great ramen, friendly and helpful service. Ramen Tatsu is in a little strip mall with adequate parking. The restaurant is not very big but they managed to accommodate a party of 12 when I was there. What I liked best about their ramen is the lack of high sodium content. I can taste the many flavors without the overwhelming taste of salt. They have the requisite spice levels from none to ghost peppers. The prices are very affordable. I think we spent less than 30 dollars including add one and dessert. This is a family restaurant and has that feel. You can order by app and phone for pick up or make reservations online. Worth the visit”

“FRESH INGREDIENTS! This restaurant serves the freshest sushi around! Everything from the wasabi to the rice to the fish was incredible. We ordered the salmon hibachi with fried rice, vegetables and coconut tofu soup. The soup had a hint of spice and it was perfect for this 33 degree evening. We also ordered the Nam Tok Beef, War Eagle Roll, volcano roll, and the Hawaii roll. The ginger salad is also very good with a sweet flavor. The restaurant looks like there’s been some updates since our last visit. Great for families, friends, and date nights. There is spacious seating as well. Our server was incredibly sweet and showed up to the table at the best times, providing everything we asked for with pleasant service.”

“Where do I begin? For starters, the atmosphere was incredible. Low lights, very mellow music...just overall, great. I was very comfortable. They started off with beverages and some miso, I went with a water and it had lemon. The miso was great! Very fresh. I order the Philadelphia Roll and the steak bento box. I'm not a fan of cold sushi, myself but it was delicious. The bento box was a solid 10/10, my only complaint would be that there wasn't MORE steak and spring rolls 😂 I also got a yum yum roll to go. Took leftovers home to my significant other and he even enjoyed them. I'll definitely be making a return to this establishment. ☺️”

“We did magical dining and happy hour at the sushi bar! Restaurant was super busy but we were still taken care of. Highly recommend. Flavors were fantastic. They even have fresh wasabi as an option! Happy hour allowed us to taste a few of what was to come. For magical dining I got the chirashi which was delicious I loved the pickled veggies (and they had lotus root my fav). My friend a roll and upgraded to A5 Wagyu nigiri. Dessert blew us away as well! The Pms and the Panama cotta were both delicious. Definitely will be back OFTEN.”

“Everything about this place is great! From clean bathrooms, amazing ambiance, music, flavor. We are from the north and we know a thing or two. The chicken and beef were not rubbery and were made fresh to order. If you are in the are come in for an affordable and delicious lunch or dinner. My kids can be picky and they loved it. The edamame was great, and the dumplings with their in house sauce was spot on. Ohh and the service, this gentle, friendly, lady was so sweet!
