It's crazy that that'll just throw sauce on black wings... *Fries are usually soggy and undercooked. But again the flavor is there for fries as well... Loaded fries are good as well but same thing.. good flavor but undercooked. *Desserts are ok. Cake isn't buttery but that Carmel Butter Cream Frosting is a Smash! *Customer service from younger ladies is excellent? They help make the atmosphere vibrant. **The concept is super dope and flavor is there when food is cooked properly. Imma try a different location to see if I'll get better results This is all based on my personal liking and opinion. They're definitely worth a try .”

“Best soul food I've had in a *long* time. Two friends and I stopped in for lunch last weekend. It was our first visit and we had no idea what to expect. Well, now we know - fabulous service and amazing food is what's on order here! We ate rib tips, ribs, jambalaya, and crab cakes to our hearts' content. That sauce used on those ribs?? Oh. My. Goodness. I hope they decide to sell it someday - I'll buy a lifetime supply! We also had greens, mac n cheese, and sweet potatoes. Oh AND lemon pound cake, too! “My first time going to the new location only went to the old location a couple of times as well! I ordered chicken and waffles with a side of grits. It was ok, nothing special Grits were ok, not creamy Waffle was made with cheap batter! It was very dense and heavy, and to top it off, you get this cheap syrup that tasted like medicine! I poured over the waffle before tasting it, and boy, what a big mistake and only finished half the waffle it was so nasty!! The fried chicken was better they were seasoned! They had a sitting area, but it was not being used by customers, only folk sitting around talking! Loud chatter or something coming out of the kitchen as well but sent out nothing special! I dont think I'll be going back!”

The fried chicken was fine, but wasn’t really much better than what you’d get at Popeye’s, which is disappointing when the Chicken & Waffles is $20. I had the steak sandwich, and it was cooked well, and was rather tasty, but it was begging for a sauce of some sort. My son got the biscuits and gravy, and the biscuits were dense while the had an overpowering herb flavor that was just ruined the dish. Nothing was disgusting, but we expected so much more from the chefs behind this restaurant.”

“Any time I'm in Clinton I always make an effort visit. I do recommend calling ahead and picking up your order especially during "peak" hours. They are known for having a long line which will take a while for them to work though. On-site parking is available, some behind the building. Also, a building beside the restaurant is available for customers to sit and eat. I ordered: - Small Fish Plate - Cole Slaw - Fries - Banana pudding - Drink (16 oz) My total came to $13.63. I was able to split this into two meals. The food ... no seasoning (not even salt) was on the fries. The fish by itself is bland as well - I usually hit it with some hot sauce/tarter sauce to spruce it up. The fish will have bones FYI. The coleslaw is finely chopped and juicy (which I like). But the banana pudding was a huge disappointment. It tasted like the store-bought banana jello mixture with cookies and bananas. I 100% expected this to be homemade. I've been coming to this restaurant since I was a little girl ALWAYS getting the small fish plate! I really wanted to give 4 starts - but the banana pudding took them down a notch! They definitely have stayed consistent with their food. Even though certain items needed some seasoning, I would still recommend this restaurant BUT NOT THE BANANA PUDDING.”

“This stop was one of the highlights of my Nashville trip. Get the chicken and sausage gumbo. You won't regret it. It's packed with flavor and has a little kick that's greatly appreciated, no matter what the weather is. It's in a great location, so the outdoor seating is perfect for people watching while you wait for dinner. We ordered a couple of apps, a chicken and sausage gumbo, and a gumbo flight. They advertise everywhere online that the plates are $5.49 for a meat and 2 they have a sign posted new pricing effective immediately $15.99 for a meat and 2 so that was fine I didn’t mind paying for a good plate they did give hefty portions but once I got back to eat it the food was extremely salty I love a good salting but this was beyond edible. I got the Salisbury steak Mac n cheese and greens the meat was tough Mac n cheese was good a moist but again too salty same with the greens. Great service but I came for the food”

“This place is completely amazing! Found it on Yelp. I'm from Louisiana, so this was like a homecoming for me. Seafood gumbo was so delicious, I wanted to cancel my food order and only eat this. Thank goodness I didn't, because the rest of my order was soooo good! The catfish was perfectly cooked and not fatty at all. Shrimp was flavorful with the perfect amount of spice. The Mac n Cheese tasted just like my mama used to make. The collard greens were really good, not sour, just good flavor. The spicy boudin was completely delicious!
