“So the cost of the tasting menu was around $400 with all of the fees. The food was tailored around the theme of nostalgia and used a lot of local ingredients including seafood and vegetable and fruits. The dining experience is communal but I was cut off from the other party with the floral arrangement which made it a pretty isolating experience. Which could be good or bad for you depending on if you want socialize. The meal started off with a very earthy, floral tea. One of my favorite dishes was the slice of corn whatever you want to call it with caviar. Overall, the food was good. I felt really rushed. The experience is supposed to be two and a half to 3 hours but I was done around 2 hours or less. They also moved me before the dessert course to the upstairs room which was kind of uncomfortable. I thought I was being moved because they overbooked but nobody ever sat in my seat. I would have preferred to stay at the table. I was the only one up there. A lot of the dishes are very heavy. There wasn't much to break it apart in terms of something light or acidic. There was just a slice of peach during the duck portion. But then I was really full, plus being kind of rushed, the course after that was wagyu which I couldn't really enjoy because there was no breakup of flavors and well time. The duck breast was very good and then there was a box that come with a duck liver moose and beef jerky and a couple of other things. After the wagyu was the dessert which at least the melon was refreshing and then I did like the strawberry shortcake. The desserts were the weakest part of the menu for me. But overall I just felt rushed and kind of uncomfortable. I guess I expected it to be a bit more how do I put it... Cohesive? Comfortable? I didn't expect any flaws. I didn't love every dish. Do I think it was worth what I paid? I am not sure. Would I go back? I don't think so. I'll also add that I asked a couple of times for the drink menu, but I just got suggestions and didn't realize I would be paying $60 for two drinks on top of the meal. I could have just gotten the wine pairing at that rate. Some things were really good but I think they could have been enjoyed even more if I felt like I had time to savor them. There are a bunch of different servers that come at different times and they do provide a lot of information about each plate, which is great but also, just ease up a little. Part of the atmosphere is part of the food experience and feeling anxious or nervous because of the pacing doesn't really add anything to the experience in my opinion. But overall stuff was pretty friendly. I thought they were a bit stiff on their deliveries sometimes which surprised me as well. But it was a good experience. Something new at least. Have I had tasting courses I enjoyed more for a lot less? Yes.”

I love how they try to source as much of their ingredients locally and also use local ingredients to create their unique noodles. The food portions are very generous and taste fantastic, well worth the 30-45 minute wait as the food is freshly made to order. We took the opportunity to explore the area while waiting for our food and the Ross outlet a few minutes walk away kept us busy. As we were late on returning, Millie had so thoughtfully covered our packed food with towels to keep the food warm. Their cheesecakes and breads are equally delicious as well. We bought extra packets of their dried noodles in an attempt to recreate their delicious noodles at home!”

Ordered a Reuben and a Lobster Roll, both which were served with Garlic Fries, and both were delicious. We didn't have any complaints about the quality of food or how amazing it was. The service was slow though, and our drinks were not refilled. The server was pleasant, but slow and not very attentive. But that shouldn't bring down the fact that the food was very good - maybe next time I will just order two drinks at a time so I don't have to wait.”

“Gluten Free / Celiac / Vegan / Vegetarian / Whole-Food Plant Based (WFPB) & some of the best Italian in Hamilton and Bordentown I have a best friend that is a Celiac and a daughter that eats Gluten Free. Palermo’s is a safe and great place I can take them. They have a family member with Celiac disease, so they understand the need for NO cross-contamination. My daughter is on me about eating less meat and more vegetables, the chefs were completely accommodating to my entire family. Some wanted no eggs, some no dairy (cream/butter), some no meat. Palermo’s has a completely separate menu for Gluten Free, see the website. The best part is they can do some of their daily specials Gluten-Free, if possible. This gives my family so more variety. Below are some of our favorite items and how we order them. Chicken Scampi over Pan-Fried Potatoes: $14.95 (GF) Strips of tender chicken sautéed in a lemon garlic sauce served over pan-fried potatoes This item is Gluten-Free. But it can also be vegetarian, you can swap out the Chicken, for Artichokes. If you get the artichokes battered – which is delicious and my favorite way – then you will be eating eggs. I was eating with my daughter tonight, so we went WFPB / vegan. The Artichokes were un-battered and sauteed and the chef even went the extra step to make the sauce without the butter. It was delicious, Plus, with any calories I saved, I used them for dessert! Picture – WFPB / Vegan Un-breaded Artichokes over Pan-Fried Potatoes with no butter in the sauce. Artichoke Francaise: $14.95 (GF) Artichoke hearts, lightly fried and sautéed in lemon butter sauce This is a wonderful appetizer, and keep these artichokes in mind if you want to replace meat on another item. Or you can do what my daughter does and add firm Tofu to it when she gets this for take-out. Francaise sauce VS Scampi sauce – we love the Scampi sauce better because of the lemon, garlicy flavor. Some nights we get the Francaise sauce. Gluten-Free Gnocchi, Cheese Ravioli, Onion Pierogies, or Stuffed Shells: $22.95 Alfredo with Italian Sausage, Creamy cheese sauce with Italian sausage We ordered Gluten-Free Gnocchi, without the Italian sausage (I have had it before – the sausage is great but we are attempting to eat more plant-based meals). There is enough for 2 servings – if your children are not stealing them. We also bring the extra sauce home, it goes great on spaghetti squash the next day. POLLO BALSAMICO $19.95 – Dinner Special that we asked to be made Gluten Free (GF) Chicken breast sautéed in a balsamic cream sauce with asparagus and tomato This was made gluten free and we asked for no chicken and extra vegetables and to add some Artichokes. It was sublime. Their desserts are delicious, so save room. They have Gluten Free desserts too. Gluten-Free Eggplant Parmesan. This item is not on the menu, but they can make you a tray of it for family events, holidays, etc. My daughter has been looking for Gluten Free Eggplant Parmesan for years. I think I will order her a tray for her birthday. She will eat some – not share – and take all of the left overs home for meal prep for work. It freezes fine and this is the time of year to get it, while eggplants are fresh and in season. You have to give them some notice - like a catering order. I will let you know how it is.
