“Stayed 2 nights while our trailer was being repaired. Lobby was decorated for Christmas with the most decorations I've ever seen in a hotel lobby & it looked fabulous! Very warm & welcoming! “We stayed at this hotel for a swim meet at the Keystone Aquatic Center. The location was convenient to the venue. The complimentary breakfast had a great variety of options- eggs, sausage, bagels/toast/muffins, pancakes, fruit and drinks. Sound carries a lot but complimentary earplugs are provided in the lobby. The room and hotel were clean, overall it was a pleasant stay and we would consider staying here again.”

“I cannot say enough good things about Cedar Crest Lodge! The land is beautiful, the rooms are clean and prestige and the staff is above and beyond. They put thought into every single detail. We’ve never been so relaxed or taken care of. The spa was amazing, and the massage and facial were top notch! We loved walking the wooded trails, relaxing in the hot tub and using the sauna. “My husband and I stayed in one of the cottages last week and it was super clean and comfortable. Being it was during the beginning of the off season, we had the indoor pool and hot tub all to ourselves and it was so nice. We loved that it was off the main busy area so it was nice a quiet. The staff are super kind and helpful, as well. If you are a family on a budget, I highly recommend staying here. The prices for entertainment and food in the Dells are outrageous everywhere else, so you might as well save on lodging. Don't let the word "motel" hinder your searching. These small family owned places know how to take care of their visitors! Is it super fancy and updated? No. All you need is a comfortable bed and a clean room at an affordable price, right? This is what you get here. It's perfect! We had a nice, relaxing stay and will definitely stay here the next time we visit.”

“Salem Cross Inn is definitely a special occasion place. It has a tiny tavern in the basement with a small intimate bar near a cozy fireplace that looks out onto the endless pastures & wildflower gardens. Evan always checks in to make sure you’re taken care of. Tyler & Heather the bartenders are extremely hospitable & always remember you. They have a lovely ever changing specials menu along with their standard options that are difficult enough to pick from as they are all so amazing. The Duck is crispy & decadent , the catfish ( a special ) melted in your mouth accompanied by jalapeño cheddar grits!!! Every dinner comes with their delectable squash muffins ( which are great for breakfast with coffee!). They have an amazing Caesar salad -perfectly dressed. If you are looking for a cozy date night place with attention to detail you will not be disappointed!”

The pool and hot tub area was kept nicely warm. Numerous comfortable areas to relax, even a couple with fireplaces. Warning, they do not have a dining room and most places are closed on Sunday in this area.”

“Spent 2 weeks in the Hotel here, the staff was super friendly and helpful with things. It has a cabin atmosphere. Room was clean and bed was comfy. The pillows are a little old, small, and very firm, has a fridge, microwave, large tv, small coffee maker, and a leather reclining chair. The pool is heated, 2 hot tubs inside the hotel all are nice and clean. It's located next to a Costco and within walking distance to Target, shopping stores and some box food chains. I would definitely stay here with my family.”

My favorite part is the beautiful creek. The new seating and swings that sit along the back of the hotel, next to the creek, is so peaceful. No noise from the street traffic is a plus. “Overall a wonderful experience at Hampton Inn in Effingham. We travel as a family for work, and the hotel staff was very welcoming and helpful. Our king-bedroom suite was ready early and very clean! The bed was nice and comfortable and even the sofa bed was squishy and kid-approved. We loved the beautiful pool area- well stocked with towels and again very clean. The hot tub was a perfect temperature and the pool is also heated to a nice comfortable temperature. The outside patio was a nice treat, we enjoyed the sun. Breakfast in the mornings was just lovely. Hot and fresh food, constantly maintained by very friendly staff who clearly work hard to keep it so. Front desk staff was exceptional in their service, and beyond accommodating; every bit as gracious in their help as they were friendly. Housekeeping staff was also a joy to interact with- they joked with the kids and always had a smile.”

“We first stayed at the Arrowhead Inn on our Wedding night and had not been back since. We were celebrating my wives high school reunion and decided to revisit the place. This time we went for the Lipscomb room, which is the original master bedroom for the house. We also had enough time to see the spectacular grounds. All in all it was a wonderful weekend, being pampered in style. The food was quite good and the room was magnificent. Our only complaint was the height of the bed. My wife is rather short so getting in and out was a challenge.”

“The Refuge Inn was a perfect place for us to land for 3 days to enjoy the island and the ponies. The ponies were a highlight of being able to see them from our room in their pens . We enjoyed the coffee and breakfast each morning brought to our room. it would be nice to kind of change up the menu some mornings. We loved the friendliest of the staff and the cleaning crew. Did not use the pool or hot tub as we were out traveling during the day. The pool area was beautiful and clean. Ask for a ponie corral room”

Entire facility was clean and modern, the rooms were in like new condition and the beds were incredibly comfortable! Breakfast in the morning had a large assortment of choices, all cooked to perfection. Every one of the staff who we encountered were friendly and helpful.
