Si Wear Kitchen

“Cute little dining room. Started with the daikon salad, which is sour and sweet and crunchy. Mapo tofu and dry fried chicken was delicious and perfectly spiced. Need to try everything else on the menu.”

Blossom Bar At Sichuan Garden

“The food is great with reasonable portions and prices. However, the holiday drinks were a letdown. We ordered two holiday drinks and found them excessively sweet. Even after waiting for the ice to melt half, they were still too sweet. Could be the syrup or it is meant to be that sweet. My friend, a regular visitor, felt the same about her drink. When we informed our server about the issue, no solution was offered, such as replacing or returning the drinks. Disappointingly, we were still charged for them. To be fair, the other drink we ordered from the regular menu tasted better.”

“Food was okay and tasty. Steam rice, however, wasn’t good, found a few hardened ones, not all though. Pretty good business, as filled up quickly in a summer lunch hour.”

“Great spot when you have a hankering for some Chinese food. The place is very unassuming but don’t let that fool you - the food is delicious! The variety is mind boggling but so far everything we’ve tried has been great.”

Sichuan Pavilion

“Sichuan Pavilion was one of the few Chinese restaurants I could get to without a car when I moved to the area 10 years ago. It provided a taste closer to home and a cozy atmosphere where I could relax. To that point, the restaurant was conveniently located (right off Farragut N.) and had more authentic options. For Sichuan fare, I’d recommend chicken with hot dry pepper, beef/fish fillet in hot sauce, and pork/chicken/eggplant in hot garlic sauce. They are all seasoned with great flavors. You can also ask for recommendations. As a rule of thumb, dishes start with general Tao, sweet and sour, sesame, orange flavored, protein with broccoli etc. are Chinese American creation. They’re fine but skip those if you want to try more authentic and regional cuisines.”

“The food was great!! New owners have cleaned up the place and made it respectable again. Service is good also. I wish the decor and building would get a makeover though it is aged.”

“Amazing restaurant experience! The staff was great throughout, making sure to go over the menu and ensuring we were well taken care of during our meal. The food was excellent and well worth the trip out here. Definitely excited for our next visit!”

Boiling Beijing

649 San Mateo Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, United States

“The Beijing duck’s skin was a bit oily (but surprisingly when we heat up the leftovers in the broiler it got better) as are some of their dishes. I highly recommend their spicy chicken and pan fried beef 小炒黄牛肉, but these are not really beijing regional dishes, hence the 4 star review. The sweet lotus is not soft enough. We really like their 小吊梨汤, which smells a lot like sweet red potatoes and is as sweet. Limited parking nearby.”

Golden Wok Chinese Restaurant

“Friendly and great customer service at this location. We ordered egg fried rice, honey walnut shrimp, and Mongolian beef. All three dishes were great! The shrimp had a little too much mayo but love the crispness and how big the shrimps were. The Mongolian beef was very tender and love the sauce it is in. It definitely went well with the egg fried rice. I wish the portions were larger as it was for sharing. However, it was enough for two people for three dishes we ordered. I love the ambience and the decor of the restaurant. Nice quiet place to dine as a family or on a date. I recommend checking the place out if you are in the Paradise Valley neighborhood. Overall, 4 stars for me due to the portion size for the price.”

“I ordered their potato beef stew (which is a 5/5 by the way), but they served me pork potato stew? If they didn't have beef why won't they contact me about it? Or even cancel my order? Their food is great when they get the order right.”

Chengdu Style Restaurant

2600 Bancroft Way, Berkeley, CA 94704, United States

“Very interesting restaurant. Seems to have a lot of authentic Chinese dishes featuring less common parts of animals such as intestines and other organs. I stuck to the "American Chinese" page of the menu. The chicken eggplant was excellent. The braised tofu had a nice taste and interesting variety of mushrooms but was too salty to eat much of. The scallion pancake did not have much taste. Bare bones dinning room. Good service.”

Mama Wong @ Exton

“Parking: Parking Lot Available Service: We went around 7:00 PM on the weekend. We were seated quickly. Waitress was really nice and even checked to see if we wanted more rice. The wait for food after ordering wasn’t long. Atmosphere: Plenty of seating. Nice and quiet. Food: The portioning on the entrees is fair. I recommend the following entrees: braised pork belly, chicken with hot dried pepper, and beef w/ long hot pepper. The dishes with peppers are only mildly spicy so it should not pose a big issue for those who want to try and are worried about the spice. The pricing of their soup is fantastic (compared to other places) and you get the most for the value. I would recommend getting the 16oz soup if you aren’t sharing. The most recent outing I got the Hot and Sour Soup 16 Oz. This tasted good and more importantly was served hot. I also got the Chicken with Hot Dried Peppers and it was good. It was savory and mildly spicy. The chicken was nicely fried and leaves a sweet aftertaste. Verdict: I am glad to see an authentic chinese restaurant west of Philly. I recommend dining here if you want quality authentic chinese food as opposed to the typical chinese takeout restaurants.”

Si Wear Bistro

“Some of the best, most authentic Chinese food in the area! It’s just in a strip mall and nothing special about the atmosphere but the food is excellent if you want it authentic. The first two pages of the menu are the “American Chinese” dishes, labeled as such. But then the rest of the menu is authentic Sichuan. There are a fair selection of vegetarian options. Every one I have tried has been delicious. There are also a lot of spicy dishes since it is Sichuan cuisine. My wife has declared that the “spicy boiled fish fillets” are the best thing she has ever eaten! Once she discovered it that is all she gets here. It is a large portion ($17) that is easily two, if not three meals. She sometimes gets it for carry out. They serve alcohol but mostly beer, wine, and sake. However, they can also make simple mixed drinks. There have been several occasions when the restaurant has been busy and we were the only non-Asian people in the restaurant”

Tasty Szechuan

“Tasty Szechuan has become our go-to choice for large gatherings, and it never disappoints. We like their expansive menu caters to diverse tastes, ensuring there's something for everyone in the group. Warm staff, reasonable price, generous portion of each dish, and plenty of parking. Our must order dishes for each gathering there are: Kung Pao Chicken, Mongolian beef, Honey walnut prawns, Golden salted egg pumpkin, Dry cooked sting beans.”

“Great for groups - with several stand-out dishes and good cocktails to enjoy --- Capped-off a long work week with dinner at Chang Chang with two buddies. By 7 PM the restaurant was packed, but the tables are very well spaced out and the ambiance feels bright and relaxed. The service when we arrived was quick and friendly. We placed orders for drinks, and then throughout the night placed a couple orders for a series of shared dishes. I really enjoyed my mezcal-based cocktail. They used a licorice-based liqueur, which while normally I dislike in cocktails, was perfectly blended and subtle enough that it didn't over power the drink. Overall I enjoyed all the food as well. There were two standouts in particular: the Dan Dan Noodles and the Sesame Tofu. The Noodles were a substantial portion, and in my opinion the perfect ratio of Noodles and Sauce and Meat and Toppings. While it could have been an entree on it's own, was better as a compliment to the rest of the meal. My friend hyped-up the Sesame Tofu, and we ordered it the same time as the Golden Mountain Beef. The beef was ok, but the tofu blew it away. Even for a meat-lover like myself, you can't help but appreciate the flavor of the sauce and how well prepared the tofu-was. We also ordered pork dumplings, the bubble pancake, and the beef. Dumplings were good, especially when dipped in the chili sauce they came with. The pancake was a solid accompaniment as well. The beef was fine, although quite plain and a bit tough relative to the other excellently-prepared dishes. We capped the night off with an evening, specialty tea. The food left us all stuffed and satisfied, and (with drinks) still came to under $50 per person! I'd be excited to come back again, and would recommend this to restaurant to anyone looking for good, fair-priced food.”
