“I had very high expectations for this Long Beach Italian restaurant, based on reviews I've read and on the fact that the owners are from Rome, the city where I was born and raised. I mean, it's a good restaurant and the food is good, but if I compared it to any good restaurant in Rome, it would totally lose. We had suppli' (fried rice balls with a ragù sauce and mozzarella) as an antipasto, which is a staple of Roman street food, and that was the first disappointment. Like I said, I don't mean to say the food was bad, but it was on the bland side, when compared to what you can eat in any Roman "rosticceria" or restaurant. I can say the same about the Amatriciana pasta. The pasta itself was very good and well-cooked, but the sauce was nowhere near as savory as what you'd typically get in Rome. I suspect one of the reasons is that real guanciale and 100% pecorino cheese (what the original recipe calls for) make this dish a tad too pungent for people who aren't used to this flavor. The pizza was much better and pretty much on a par with an average pizza in Rome. But not with the best pizzerias in the city. Finally, the panna cotta dessert was OK, but nothing special. Consider that this isn't a cheap restaurant, and my reviews are always based on value for the money.”

“This restaurant is great hidden gem. It's a historic building that was built in 1884 and was originally a grocery store. That's why the name "Lee's grocery"still remains. The atmosphere is very laid back. The service that we received was very nice too. The pizza was very tasty and had plenty of styles to choose from. There is a wide selection of beers and sodas. There is a outdoor patio that is fenced-in and pet friendly. The owner is very friendly and down-to-earth.”

“After a night at Foxwoods, I *highly* recommend checking out this pizza food truck nearby. It was around a 10 min drive from the Foxwoods/Mohegan sun area. We came with high expectations due to the hot reviews, and boy were they met!! Having tried the staples of New Haven, we felt we knew what amazing pizza could taste like. We absolutely loved all the pizza options, especially The Fresco! Everything seemed homemade, from scratch, and a lot of love put into it. This spot deserves all the high praise, so check them out!”

“A really great pizzeria in the upper lower peninsula of Michigan. We came as a large group after an event and it was a little over an hour till close and they still sat us right away and told us we didn't need to rush, this was the start of our fantastic service. Our server was amazing. The pizzas were really great. We didn't have any non pizzas from the menu but I bet they would have been great too. They do monthly specials and we had the sweet & sour chicken pizza, it was great. I highly recommend Mio Pizza Shop. We'll be back next year for sure.”

“The staff is very friendly and attentive. I wish there was more detail to quality and quantity on this sandwich. There is still bread showing, which means more chicken should be added along with sauce and cheese as it is very dry, so get sauce on the side. Fries are a small hand-full and mushy. For the price and the wait time, there should be more food here. Good atmosphere for family and really nice staff.”

“I’ve been coming here for years and it never fails to hit the spot. The fresh, high quality, locally sourced, ingredients make all the difference and you can taste it. The pies out of the handmade pizza oven are top of the line when it comes to that classic Neapolitan style. The crust is soft and fluffy with even leoparding throughout. I always get the Margherita and the only way it could possibly be better is if they used buffalo mozzarella instead of the more common cow variety. This time around I tried the “New York” pizza which uses fontinella and fontina. I will admit this particular pie was relatively bland compared to the Margherita. I won’t be getting that one again but it was worth a shot. As for the other items on the menu the chili-kissed garlic knots are sublime and the wings are ethereal. Sometimes we come and only order two plates of wings and no pizza. They’re that good. These guys are free range, antibiotic free, and local from Buttonwood Farms. They’re brined in house and fried to order in beef tallow which provides a level of depth and umami that you won’t find in an average wing - 9.4/10 clucks. My favorite sauce is the pineapple habanero that I enjoy on the side as to allow for an unadulterated, sauceless, bite when I please. Overall I couldn’t recommend Pizzeoli enough. Every friend I’ve brought here over the years has enjoyed it as much as I have.”

“AMAZING!!!! We’re from out of state and wanted to try some of the local food. Found this place and seen some pictures of the pizza and had to try. Ordered the gem city supreme and was blown away. The large was around $34 with tax. The amount of pizza you get for that is unreal. The pizza was amazing. The crust was super crispy. The sauce was very flavorful. It was extremely cheesy and delicious. I have payed way more for a lot less pizza. The only thing about this pizza I would have changed is I would have let it cook a few more minutes. Most of the peppers and onions on top were still crunchy and a little under cooked but other than that hands down best pizza I’ve ever had. I just wish I wasn’t 4 states away.”

“Update: we decided eat at the place on friday and man it was crazy busy. The definitely could use at least 2 more people, one server and someone else to take phone orders. We were there for over 2 hrs from waiting for a table to finishing and that phone did not stop ringing. Great to see they are pumping out that kinda business. The waitress was then only one with like 11 tables. She was doing the best she could though. Everything was good! This is an old school pizza joint serving up classic style pizza. They have a really thin crispy crust, so if thats your style, this is the place for you. They have a really nice balance of cheese and sauce, so that you can actually taste the sauce. All the ingredients are freshly sliced and not canned. They do use the sliced sausage, which i find weird. They don't have a ton of options for toppings which is another bummer, however they should have enough for most people. You guys should add a double crust to showcase your dough, I'd be interested in that! Thanks guys.”

“We’ve been to Pat’s a handful of times since discovering it. When we first started going here you could drop by anytime during business hours and get a table. That is not the case anymore, especially on the weekends and for good reason! We’ve celebrated birthdays, anniversary and a new job for our son at this establishment. There pasta dishes are amazing. We always get the pasta flight. It’s made for two but we order individually, lol. The pizza is amazing. Not like your traditional pizza joints. They also have excellent appetizers. If you plan on trying this restaurant on the weekend make sure to get a reservation in advance. Like a week in advance.”
