“The Refuge Inn was a perfect place for us to land for 3 days to enjoy the island and the ponies. The ponies were a highlight of being able to see them from our room in their pens . We enjoyed the coffee and breakfast each morning brought to our room. it would be nice to kind of change up the menu some mornings. We loved the friendliest of the staff and the cleaning crew. Did not use the pool or hot tub as we were out traveling during the day. The pool area was beautiful and clean. Ask for a ponie corral room”

“This was our first time at the Fife and Drum, and we really enjoyed it! The staff is super friendly and very helpful. The cost is honestly more than we typically pay, but it was worth every penny given the location. We were in Williamsburg for the Grand Illumination festivities. Because of the location of the Inn, we were able to walk to everything which was great! We would definitely consider staying there again.”

“We had a wonderful stay at this property. The room was clean and QUIET. the bed was very comfortable. The coffee maker wasn't working and it was very promptly repaired. Breakfast was top drawer (love that there was a the pancake machine instead of the waffle maker like most places have). If we are in the area again for another function this is where we will stay”

“Right off the highway, just over the bridge from the National Park, super easy to find. Didn't arrive until after 10pm and everyone was so nice. The room was very nice, temp was comfortable in the room when we arrived. The complimentary breakfast was great, nice selection of choices, cereal, sausage gravy and biscuits, the makings for breakfast sandwiches or waffles, muffins, yogurt, 3 kinds of juice plus coffee. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.”

”Great location in Old Town Alexandria. Very close to the main shopping and dining area of Kings street. Parking was very convenient. Our room was somewhat small. We had two queen size beds. Unfortunately the fire alarm went off on our floor at 10:30 and we couldn’t get back into our room until almost 2 hours.”

”The room appeared to be very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable and cozy. The bathroom was missing soap so I had to go back down to reception and was given a small bar of Dove which was fine. Check in and check out was easy and quick. A breakfast voucher was given to me but I didn't use it so no comment on the breakfast. I would stay here again.”

”We stayed here a couple of nights ago. It’s right off of I-95 & very close to the National Museum of the Marine Corps, which is where we had an event the next day. The lobby was clean and the front desk employees were very friendly. It smelled really good when we walked in, all the way from the lobby to the elevator to the room. I appreciate a good smelling place, but it was also very clean. I’m particular about cleanliness and when I checked the room, it was immaculate. Breakfast was good and the woman who worked in that area was very friendly as well. The only thing I would say is that the fitness room was very small. It has a treadmill, bike, elliptical, bench with dumbbells and a variety of sizes of medicine balls. It’s just a super tight fit, but I was able to make it work. Overall, this is a great hotel and I’d stay here again.”

There were no indications of what it was being used for or even asked if I had parked. No parking permit no secure parking no nothing. It seemed to be a cheap way for the hotel to grab an extra $4.”

She is professional and is a wonderful representative for the hotel. Rooms were very clean, the hotel was very quiet and I fell asleep the second my head hit the pillow because their beds were probably the nicest I’ve ever slept on in any hotel! Whenever I passed a maid in the halls they were friendly and asked if I needed anything. This was my second time staying there and I will definitely always book there from now on. So conveniently located with a ton of places to eat. Everything from sushi and Italian to burgers. Cold stone ice cream for dessert. And tons of shopping.”
