“We only planned on a quick overnight stay here back in April but ended up spending a second night because we loved it so much. The landscape was so gorgeous and all the guests around us were so friendly, quiet, and respectful. The staff was fantastic and the pizza they delivered to our site was delicious! The restrooms and showers were clean and well-maintained. We will definitely return for a longer stay in the future.”

Misty Mountain Camp Resort

Open until 04:52 PM

56 Misty Mountain Rd, Greenwood, VA 22943, United States

“Misty Mountain is one of the nicest campgrounds I've stayed in. Very friendly and kind staff. My two favorite things were: 1) The expansive, woodsy grounds. I have a dog and it's always nice to have a good place to walk and 2) The bathhouse! The showers were fantastic. I can only wish all campgrounds offered such nice showers. I also very much appreciate the December offer of stay 2 nights get the 3rd free. Thanks so much!”

I was able to do our Landry as we were right next to the Landry room. Clean also I would highly recommend Walnut hills campground to anyone!! Thank you Walnut 💕”

Richmond North / Kings Dominion Koa Holiday
4.5
( 8 reviews )

10061 Kings Dominion Blvd, Doswell, VA 23047, United States

“We spent a week here while getting our RV serviced at a dealer down the road. The park is conveniently located next to Kings Dominion and even provides a shuttle to the park. We booked a few days here initially and had to extend our stay due to getting parts to repair our RV. Our check in and reservation changes were easy and the staff was very supportive. The park offers a lot of buddy sites, back in and pull through for those coming to enjoy the park next door. We opted for a buddy site and had no buddies the whole week. The site was very short for our 40ft toy hauler and parking our tow rig was not very convenient. Utilities were located on the correct sides although some sites sewer connections were a good distance from the RV. We walked the park almost every night and the park was always well kept. As with any RV park there are trains and roads nearby so expect some of that noise. Also be prepared for the screams coming from the park. Not annoying and I really enjoyed hearing people scream in terror and wished I was on the ride with them. This is one park we plan to come back to during the peak season to go and enjoy a few days at Kings Dominion. If you aren't sure what a buddy site is or how to use it, please ask the staff when checking in. We got a lot of entertainment out of other customers trying to figure out the sites and why the hookups were the way they were.”

Fancy Gap Cabins And Campground
4.8
( 16 reviews )
Open until 11:00 AM

202595 Blue Rdg Pkwy, Fancy Gap, VA 24328, United States

“We have stayed here at least a dozen times over the years. We travel to Georgia quite often and love this place. It's roughly half way to our destination so it's perfect. We bring our hound dog, actually we are on our second one now, we lost our first one and the owners have been very friendly to them as well. We usually rent between two and four rooms up at the motels. We highly recommend this place.”

Graves Mountain Farm & Lodges

Open until 11:00 AM

205 Graves Mountain Lane, Old Blue Ridge Turnpike, Syria, VA 22743, United States

”Well didn’t stay here looks nice a quaint this review is about the food. Granted this is the only place open on new years and I guess we missed the hint that all meals were buffet based on the description. We were not expected to serve ourselves at a min coffee and water, coffee not sure sailors would drink it. The buffet seemed to have alot or people running though but what ever the two casseroles were, well the seat we sat on was softer and the ham was dry. The girls were not very helpful and not sure what they were doing there? Mc Donald’s isn’t an option but maybe it should have been We were hoping for a quint, high end mountain retreat to have brunch. Anyway not what we expected, sorry”

Grey's Point Camp

Open until 11:00 AM

3601 Greys Point Rd, Topping, VA 23169, United States

”I could say all the usual nice things - very clean facility, courteous staff, groomed sites, lovely pool, beach etc. The test of good guest service is when things don't go right. I had a major electrical issue with my RV - totally our problem. Maintenance came out to check the service, even though it was fine, they sent an electrical contractor out to make sure. Maintenance stopped by on their "rounds" to see how we were doing. The office provided a wonderful local repair company who could dispatch a tech within 2 hours of calling. When I asked about cabin availability in case we needed to await parts, the office was ready to dispatch housekeeping immediately to turn a unit for me. As luck would have it, the repair tech was able to get slides and awning in so we could get home. The value of my friends is not when life goes well, it is when life does not go well. Thank you so much to Wayne, Elissa and everyone at Grey's Point. The first two days were perfect! You may a horrible day three, better. We will be back!”

Fredericksburg / Washington Dc South Koa Holiday
4.4
( 8 reviews )
Open until 11:00 AM

7400 Brookside Ln, Fredericksburg, VA 22408, United States

”Very nice campground and we lucked out with a roomy, "satellite friendly" (first time I heard that term in a park but it makes sense!) site facing a large pond with a fountain. Staff was friendly and always appreciate the extra touches like escorts in, delivering firewood and picking up garbage (although you do pay for those). They are working on some improvements (like the laundry room) and we will stay again next time through the area.”

Williamsburg / Busch Gardens Area Campground
4.4
( 8 reviews )

4000 Newman Rd, Williamsburg, VA 23188, United States

”This review is for the EXTENDED stay RV sites! My husband and I lived in the campground for nearly 6 months. It was very quiet, staff was friendly, we loved our neighbors, and the nearness to the highway and downtown Williamsburg. That’s about the sum of the positives. The RV sites seemed like they were in a swamp. Especially during the rainy season. We know of several guests that asked for gravel to be added to the swampy sites which was never provided. When guests placed pavers or rugs to manage the mud, they were reprimanded and asked them to be removed. The sites are way overpriced for what they were worth. The bathrooms, dog park, pool, and laundry room could use more routine upkeep. I wish management would just put some money from their 5-star main campground into the extended stay sites because it could be so much more than what it is now.”

Floyd Family Campground
4.7
( 8 reviews )

2697 Franklin Pike SE, Floyd, VA 24091, United States

”Stayed for two nights while passing through, wish we had stayed longer. This is a unique campground over a sprawling hillside piece of property. The views are extraordinary. The walking paths surround the site are easy to navigate. There’s a little dog run area that we used with our pup. We were in full hook up site number 12 which was a pull through and was flat. We had very little adjustment to our camper. It is quiet at night and dark. There was supposed to be a concert on Saturday night, but we must’ve missed it. The campground is easy access in and out. When we arrived, the check-in office was not staffed, but one of the managers or owners came by in a cart and welcomed us, and ensure we had what we needed. The bathhouse is adequate. Don’t expect anything special. We will be back. Highly recommended. Destination 10 stars”

Crabtree Falls Campgrounds
4.7
( 8 reviews )

11039 Crabtree Falls Hwy, Tyro, VA 22976, United States

”Crabtree Falls is a very nice campground for off the grid camping. We spent a few days there and really enjoyed it. The campsites are located directly on the water and provides spectacular views all day long. It’s quiet and peaceful and has zero cell coverage just what we were looking for, the store has firewood and ice at a reasonable price and the manager AJ is a very friendly person. We will definitely be coming back.”

Mathews Arm Campground
4.5
( 8 reviews )

Skyline Dr, Rileyville, VA 22650, United States

”Enough space between sites to feel like you're in the woods and not parking lot. The gravel road also twists and turns so most sites are fairly private. Nice and quiet. Pool is a good distance from most sites. Beautiful setting. Cave is nice.”

Williamsburg Christian Retreat Center

Cape Charles / Chesapeake Bay Koa Resort
4.1
( 8 reviews )
Open until 11:00 AM

32246 Charles M Lankford Jr Memorial Hwy, Cape Charles, VA 23310, United States

”This is a great vacation spot. I want to say the employees are awesome! They made us feel at home and were super accommodating with any needs. The beach bar was a lot of fun and Mary the waitress was AMAZING!!!!!!! My biggest issue was the disrespect that guests had for the property itself. The bathrooms are hard to clean, someone decided to put a whole soap dispenser in the toilet. WHY? I felt so bad for the employees who had to clean up messes from teenagers. If you are looking for a quiet spot this isn't the place to go, but if you are looking for a party and fun in the sun on the bay do it!! I do suggest that the shower curtains get switched out as they had black mold growing on the inside. We will come back.”

Davis Lakes & Campgrounds
4.4
( 8 reviews )

200 Byrd St, Suffolk, VA 23434, United States

”Went camping here for the first time New Years 2024 weekend. Nice with lakes, small beach, gameroom and store which I think will be great but packed in the summer.”

Rappahannock River Campground
4.7
( 8 reviews )

33017 River Mill Rd, Richardsville, VA 22736, United States

”Our 2nd annual trip! Both times have been stellar. We were able to call and get recommendations for the quiet/secluded parts of the campground (not going to share our secret spot!). Had the whole area to ourselves and a nice shady spot. I don't know how they do it but both times there have been virtually no mosquitoes!!!! So rare in Virginia!!! The other big draw is the wonderfully gentle river on site. Nice and calm for our little kids to float around in. I saw a bald eagle fly overhead - first one I've ever seen in my life! Afterwards I delighted in the nice, hot, fantastic water pressure shower!”

Cave Mountain Lake Campground
4.7
( 8 reviews )

Natural Bridge Station, VA 24579, United States

”Lovely campground in the heart of Virginia. We stayed in mid-October, and the foliage was just starting to turn. Really pretty stuff. Note that there is a hiking trail (Wildcat Mountain) that you can walk to from the campsite. It's deceptively difficult for a 4 mile up-and-back trail. Also, as others have noted, the ground is extra hard. Make sure to pack a camping pad of some sort.”

Charlottesville Koa Holiday
4.2
( 8 reviews )
Open until 12:00 AM

3825 Red Hill Rd, Charlottesville, VA 22903, United States

”If you're looking for a big resort type campground, this one probably isn't for you, but it's exactly why we enjoyed it. It's only about 60 sites and it's far enough from the highway that it is very quiet. Enjoyed the fact that there weren't golf carts running around at all hours kicking up dust and making noise like many of the bigger campgrounds these days. Pleasant young lady helped us when we checked in and answered any questions we had. Site was packed gravel and almost perfectly level. We had Buddy sites 8 and 10 and there was plenty of room between the sites so we didn't feel like we were right on top of each other. Campground was very clean and there seemed to be maintenance workers around working on keeping it up all day. Main roads coming in are a little tight and twisty, but had no problems. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay and we will definitely be back.”

Creekside Campground
4.2

108 Palmyra Rd, Edinburg, VA 22824, United States

”Stayed a couple nights in a tent, location is nice. It's close to a main road but quiet. Small campground, which is what I wanted. Very clean and peaceful. Bathrooms/showers are cleaned daily and kept up. We will be returning here, great location and very good price.”
