“We only planned on a quick overnight stay here back in April but ended up spending a second night because we loved it so much. The landscape was so gorgeous and all the guests around us were so friendly, quiet, and respectful. The staff was fantastic and the pizza they delivered to our site was delicious! The restrooms and showers were clean and well-maintained. We will definitely return for a longer stay in the future.”

“The Refuge Inn was a perfect place for us to land for 3 days to enjoy the island and the ponies. The ponies were a highlight of being able to see them from our room in their pens . We enjoyed the coffee and breakfast each morning brought to our room. it would be nice to kind of change up the menu some mornings. We loved the friendliest of the staff and the cleaning crew. Did not use the pool or hot tub as we were out traveling during the day. The pool area was beautiful and clean. Ask for a ponie corral room”

“Just spent a night here but what a delight. So great to check in where the staff is truly friendly and you feel genuinely welcomed. We were in our room for just a few moments when Kendryk at the front desk called to say he’d just made fresh coffee. It’s in the lobby if we’d like some. Our room was clean and smelled great. The best part, and a rarity these days was staying somewhere with caring staff that actually cared you were thee!”

“Lovely, comfortable and quiet, we had an excellent stay. The room and bed were very comfortable, the staff were excellent-friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for walking around town and parking is under the hotel and very convenient. My one complaint - PLEASE GET BETTER COFFEE. The coffee machine in the lobby for guests was undrinkable - and the restaurant coffee needs a serious upgrade. The hotel was beautiful and comfortable and I would stay there again, but I suggest you get dressed and run down to Cranberry's for coffee.”

“Very nice hotel!! Rooms were spacious, clean, and modern. Full kitchen with utensils. Provided soap and lotion was nice. Amazing customer service. Pool and hot tub were both clean and perfect temp. Breakfast was fully stocked and had nice variety. Pretty big workout room with 5-6 different machines. My only complain was the other people staying there, but that can’t be helped. Just loud children with parents that can’t or won’t control them.”

”Travelling home from Florida we used this hotel as a midway stop point. Hotel had everything we needed. Pros; Clean, comfortable beds, closed to some restaurants both sit down and quick service, continental breakfast, pool opens late and a small gym. Staff is kind and helpful. Cons; we were originally assigned to a room on the second floor - as soon as I stepped on the room I could hear the people above me and had ourselves reassigned to the 4th floor. Made all the difference in the level on noise and quite night of rest. Hottub could be a big warmer and it almost looks stained or dirty at first glance. We will absolutely stay at this hotel again in our travels as long as we can stay on the 4th floor.”

”Let's start with the good. The location is great, right off of 395 and parking is plentiful. Great start! The mobile check in was seamless. The room size was great, the suite had the perfect set up for multiple families. 2 bedroom/2 bathrooms, large living area with pull out bed. Unfortunately, there were a lot of negatives. Upon entering the lobby at approximately 9pm, no one was at the front desk to greet guest, so we were unable to promptly locate the elevator. Once inside the elevator we noticed the trim was held together by scotch tape. After entering the room, I noticed the room was somewhat dated (no problem). The room cleanliness left a lot to be desired though. The restrooms had lint and dust in the corners, a random pill 💊 was found on the floor in the living area (major hazard). Hair was found in the sink, while showering the water drained showly causing water to sit. The supplies in the kitchen were almost empty and had clearly been used. It is clear this Homewood Suites cuts corners on cleaning. At approximately 9am, I went to the lobby to grab coffee and drop a bag off at the car. Upon returning to my room, a hotel staff member was standing at my door. She backed away as I walked up. She then asked if I was checking out today, I replied I was. She followed up by questioning how long it would be before I checked out. The checkout time was noon, the hotel was not crowded, and the do not disturb sign was posted on the door. I spend approximately 150 nights a year in Hilton brand hotels. I love Homewood Suites, but this one does not meet the standard!”

”This was our first stay at this location. The room was very clean. The bed was perfect (for me) along with the pillows on the bed. The bathroom was perfectly stocked with towels and amenities. The breakfast was fully stocked and had a very nice selection. But most importantly, the staff! The staff were amazing, courteous and very friendly. A special shoutout to Tasha for her extremely friendly personality, awesome smile and superior customer service! We travel through here each year at this time and will definitely make this our resting point! ”Right off the highway, just over the bridge from the National Park, super easy to find. Didn't arrive until after 10pm and everyone was so nice. The room was very nice, temp was comfortable in the room when we arrived. The complimentary breakfast was great, nice selection of choices, cereal, sausage gravy and biscuits, the makings for breakfast sandwiches or waffles, muffins, yogurt, 3 kinds of juice plus coffee. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.”

”We stayed here on a road trip from NY to FL. We arrived very late at night and checked in on the app and used a digital key to access our room, which was great since we had little kids and wanted to get them in to bed quickly. ”I went on an ecological tour of all the restoration work the Tides Inn has been doing on recreating a living shoreline and resorting the health of Carter's Creek. The work they do is comprehensive and science based. They've maintained a riparian buffer, planted high & low tide marsh grasses/plants, and started aquaculture of oysters to integrate hospitality and sustainability. If you love science based trips this place is really worth it. Landscape is gorgeous. The resort was professional and clean for what little bit I did see inside.”

”I have a daughter on campus so the location is great except for the fact that you are across the street from a frat house and the music is loud. Rooms need a refresh- boring decor, fridge just stuck in the corner make it look cheap. The bed was comfortable though. Small bathroom with dirt and dust in all the corners. Shower was okay, but it is one of those shower stalls with only half a glass door so there's water all over the floor when you shower. Towels were thick and super soft. No exhaust fan in the bathroom though. Lobby area was very lovely and the look of the hotel from the outside is very beautiful. Just an OK stay.”

”I am a frequent traveler and a Hilton Honors member and have stayed at many hotels. We had a really bad experience when we stayed here recently. We loved the opportunity to select our room online as Honors members. In doing so, we were offered an upgrade for drinks and snacks which turned out to be very lame. Don’t do it! Also, when we checked in, our floor was very sticky and needed cleaning. We reported our dissatisfaction with the value of the upgrade and the sticky floors to an older woman at the front desk who I suspect was a manager. The older woman there was very snarky and basically did not care. She sent a man up with a dry swifter mop and a spray bottle. He sprayed the floor and dry mopped it but it did not help so we just gave up on getting it fixed. The manager response below that she reached out several times to ask about it is ABSOLUTELY FALSE. She never once reached out to us by phone or I. Person or at the front desk, not once!!! In addition, the bedding was worn as well and looked old and in need of replacement. We also complained when we complained about the sticky floor about the snack and drink situation and we were told BY THE SAME WOMAN that she would only allow us to exchange one drink for another drink. We told her that if we had known how lame it was, we would not have paid for that. Again, she was clear that this was the only option. The fact that the manager would lie in her response is extremely disappointing and I will be contacting Hilton on this. This hotel is extremely disappointing and we stay at a lot of hotels and travel a lot but this is probably one of the worst experiences I have had and was only made worse by the lies written in the below response. Be assured, we wholly recommend you not waste your time with this place!”
