“It was really good! I ordered a melt on a croissant which came with grape salad, chips, pickle, and a little cookie. I chose the fancy Nancy as my chicken salad on the melt. I only ate half the sandwich as it was more filling than I expected, and that grape salad may be the best thing ever created by God(outside of my wife)! It is mixed with, I believe, some kind of cream cheese mix and then topped with a brown sugar and pecan mixture. I ate all of that and then got some to take home. I'm tired of fast food and wanted something quick and delicious. This is now going to be my go to place. The girls working the front were really nice and hospitable. You go to so many places now where workers look like they hate being there. It was refreshing to see the girls smiling and enjoying being at work. Sarah and Karissa both spoke to the me as I believe they were both the managers that day. I would recommend you stop by and give it a shot, there is something for everyone. Sorry, I took the photo after I ate half my sandwich...I was hungry.”

We arrived just 30 minutes before closing time, and it seemed the staff was eager to wrap things up. They started mopping the floors and cleared the sauces even before we finished our meal. The music was a tad too loud for comfortable conversation, and there was a fair amount of cleaning and trash removal happening while we were dining. While I understand that we arrived close to closing time, it would have been nice if they had allowed diners a bit more time to savor their meals without feeling rushed. However, I must emphasize that the food itself was absolutely delicious. The Peruvian rotisserie chicken was a standout, and the flavors were on point. Despite the minor inconveniences, I would return to Chick Houz for the mouthwatering cuisine.”

I was told that the owner makes all the sauce in store The store was slow and the owner let me inside the kitchen and I will say he has a very clean and organized set up back there. That beats out a lot of kitchens that I have seen Overall 10/10 in my book, definitely will be taking another visit to try the boba.”

Hot sandwich is a great choice, not super hot but great flavor, don’t be scared away by the kale slaw (you won’t notice a difference). Bread is a potato roll I think? Slightly sweet with a nice crust and texture. Loaded Tots come in a light beer cheese with bacon bits and other goodies. Will need a fork, but worth ordering. The street corn riblets are excellent, but you do have to eat it off the quarter of cob it comes off of. If you don’t mind the method it is very tasty, though I personally would prefer off the cob kernels. Got the Cobb salad to go. I do wish the dressing and chicken had come on the side for better transport and squares of cheese is a little funky. Admittedly getting a salad at a fried chicken places seems silly, but if you have something on a limited menu, details are important. That being said, the recipient claimed it was fantastic. I was stuffed with sandwich and tots. Would definitely come back.”

We had the onion rings as an appetizer, and it was a large serving nicely breaded. We loved them. The salad was a bag salad that was as fresh as we would like. They make their own dressings, and the blue cheese dressing was delicious. The chicken fried steak was huge, and my fried okra was perfect. We enjoyed our lunch and would go back.”
