“I went to the Christmas Market with my friend this past weekend. As soon as you get inside, you are met with smiling faces and amazing service. Every staff member was kind and friendly, even though we were not even guests! We went to the restaurant after and it was fabulous. Our waiter Rob was excellent, he recommended the deep fried grilled cheese, the lobster and shrimp roll and cheesecake. Everything was spectacular and since it was my birthday they gave my friend and I mimosas on the house! I will definitely be coming back here with my husband to celebrate our 13th anniversary if we get a chance.”

“The resort is fantastic, great atmosphere, great staff and great number of activities. We borrowed a park pass to enjoy Algonquin Provincial Park to no cost of our own. We were not prepared for the weather, but the resort has prepared for out mistake. They have multiple boots, jackets, gloves and hats for us to borrow. They also had lots of cross-country skis, skates and snow shoes for us as well. The dining experience was fantastic. You can bring you own wine or champagne and open it at the table. Fantastic presentation around the dining area, musician playing live and great tasting food. Everyone was so nice and welcoming it made me want to extend our stay. I would highly recommend this experience for anyone who wants a private stay out of their busy lives every now and then.”

“First point I would like to make: The cabins are very small and cramped, even for one person staying there. They have a nice little patio outside where you can set up a table and eat meals, but you have to use the sink and bathroom area outside, as the cabins don't have those either. Apart from the cabins, the place is beautiful, peaceful, and tranquil. The people are friendly and helpful, (though often too busy to socialize with properly) there are always games on the lawn, and the lake is lovely to swim in (I came in early June 2023). The Bare Bistro has great food, even with me being vegan, and the clubhouse has a nice art-gallery feel with all its nudist pictures inside. I would like to come back to Bare Oaks, but on a weekend where there is something happening, maybe Body Fest, so that there is more to do and more opportunities to socialize.”

“I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with 1Hotel Toronto, which has left me feeling frustrated and dissatisfied. My issue began when I realized that my Tesla charger was missing from my car after staying at the hotel. I had the hotel charge my car for me during my stay, and I was certain it was left in my car, and since nobody else had used my car, it seemed clear that the hotel staff might have taken it by mistake. I contacted the hotel to report the missing charger, and to my relief, they said they found it and would mail it to me. However, the situation quickly turned sour when I received only the adapter part of the charger in the mail, with the case and actual wire missing. Upon contacting them again to address this issue, I was met with a rather dismissive response. The staff claimed that they would never have used my charger since they have their own. However, this argument didn't make sense as the adapter they returned was part of a set that includes the case and wire, indicating that they must have had the entire set. The conversation took an even more bizarre turn when they mentioned that the adapter they sent wasn't actually mine but was taken from their lost and found. They sent it merely because I reported a missing charger, and they had a spare one. This response was not only unhelpful but also raised concerns about the hotel's handling of lost and found items and their approach to customer service. Overall, my experience with 1Hotel Toronto was far from satisfactory. The lack of proper communication, transparency, and responsibility regarding my lost item has significantly impacted my view of their service. I had expected a straightforward resolution but was met with a series of confusing and unsatisfactory responses. I would caution others about staying here, especially if you value the security and handling of your personal belongings. At best, they lied to me, and at worst, they stole from me.”

“Truly beautiful location for all seasons, however, the resort itself is in need of updates/renovations. We have been here previously a few years back but it doesn’t seem like changes have been made yet. Beds were comfortable and bathroom was clean. Heads up that they do add on an amenity fee of $30 which is not included in the original total for the room. We didn’t get a chance to use the amenities but it does seem like they have quite a few and both an indoor and outdoor pool which looked nice.”

“We had a major diversion over Christmas. Thank you for allowing us to host our impromptu family Christmas The rooms were very clean and spacious. I am a huge fan of comfortable pillows! Loved the two TVs in the suite, not that we needed them. LOL. We love the direct ports to the TV screen to potentially connect other devices. Noted for the future! The entire facility was clean and well kept. The staff were friendly and professional. Breakfast was a wonderful bonus, considering the prices competitive amongst neighboring hotels. A nice little gem in Woodstock!”

“81% Hydro usage increase after tub installed We had our tub installed October 2022, absolutely love it, design, comfort great tub. Our issue started 3 months later, we looked at our hydro bill and our usage increased by 81%. We reached out to store and initially there was a hesitation to believe the tub was the issue, but after extensive testing and analysis we could only come to the following conclusions. 1. There is an issue with the tub and with it being under warranty something should be done. Or 2. Beachcomber Hot tubs aren’t as efficient as they advertise. The head office acknowledges there is an issue , but I can’t get it resolved. I’ve reached out to the store multiple times and the owner now ignores my email, he had no issue taking our $17000. We purchase the Hybrid 590. Let me be clear my KwH usage increased 81% vs 12 months prior. We now use the same amount of hydro every month as when our AC runs in the summer time. (July/August) Again love the tub, hate the response when it’s one of two issues. Hate leaving a bad review on a great company and product.”

The ownership and staff are incredibly friendly, unlike so many larger corporate resort properties. The wedding, which was coordinated by resort staff, came off without a hitch, and the food was delicious. We were occupied by the wedding but we can't wait to go back because there are so many things you can do on the property, whether on the waterfront in the summer or in and around the property otherwise!”
