There were so many flavors of coffee that I had not only the signature sweet potato lattee, but also Vietnamese iced coffee. I feel like I'll come back to this coffee shop a second time.”

“Full disclosure - this review is purely for the macarons from The Social Blend. I received a box of their macarons as a holiday gift and had to come by to leave a review. You know, there are macarons and then there are the macarons from The Social Blend. The attention to detail and care in presentation is only part of the story. The beauty lies in the intricate flavours and the excitement of discovery in each bite. If I had to choose a favourite (this was hard!), I'd say the cheesecake macaron was a top choice. Unlike most cheesecakes that can come off too dense, this cheesecake macaron was light and rich (the red macaron featured in the images). The rich buttercream filling isn't too sweet which I so appreciate. It allows the actual flavours of each macaron to really shine through. The Earl Grey macaron, the tiramisu, the match KitKat are absolutely divine. You know their macarons are good when I tell you I even liked their White Mocha Peppermint macaron when I don't even like minty foods! Thank you The Social Blend for the different flavour profiles in your macarons. I'm not a big fan of overly sweet treats so I particularly appreciated that I could taste the actual flavours of each macaron. If you are looking to give yourself a treat or thinking of a gift for a special someone, I'd highly recommend these Social Blend macarons. They can come in customized boxed sets or you can choose a set package. Next on my list: to visit The Social Blend in person so I can experience all its goodness first hand.”

“I wanted to try this place for a while but the hours weren't matching with my schedule. Finally today I got a chance to try it. And it's way beyond my expectations. First of all I love how welcoming they are. I tried their oven baked beef empanada with the drink called chicha morada. Both were so delicious. I usually find drinks sweeter for my taste but I loved it. I'll definitely try every single items in their menu. Glad to have them in the neighbourhood!”

“Ordered the Taiwanese pork rice bowl and the popcorn chicken which are my usual favourites. I haven’t ordered it in a while but I was quite disappointed this time around. As for the pork rice, it had an odd sour taste to it. My mom and I had a couple of bites each before asking each other if we were just imagining it or was that actually the case. My stomach is feeling slightly upset as I’m writing this. The broccoli were 2 different shades with one being green and the other being a little yellow. I’m confused if they were cooked separately, if one piece was going bad but overall I was scared to finish the dish after that. The popcorn chicken is usually light and crunchy but as you can see in the photo, it was super oily. I don’t mind the chicken being soggy as I take that risk ordering it for delivery but I think this time it was more due to that excess in oil rather than the food itself steaming up on the drive over. For extra context I placed my Uber order around 10:45, didn’t assume I’d have to worry about last call affecting the chef’s efforts as they close at 11:30 according to their hours on Google. On the bright side, the drinks I ordered were fine. I also ordered one of the toast which was also fine, but on if the toast had issues too I’d be worried. Was one of my favourite spots during Covid, just leaving this review cuz I want em to step it up a bit.”

“Benkei Hime is a street style decorated bubble tea shop located in the Eaton Centre. The shop was decorated with many interesting items around the brand. The cups have cool cartoons and a very unique design. The bubble tea itself was alright, I didn't have a rich tea flavour, the pearls were nice and chewy.”

“Relaxing and friendly vibe. Eclectic furniture and small library add to the charm. Server was very friendly. Unfortunately we waited 15 minutes for our cappuccinos to arrive. My bran muffin was very average with a very hard crust. My husband’s vegan cookie was also average. The table where we sat had ice cold air blowing from a small vent so we were chilly sitting in what was otherwise a prime seat by the window. Our server told us the owner controlled the heat (and I guess the ac) with their phone. Maybe next time will be a bit warmer. Overall, despite some glitches, it’s a quaint spot, and we will return next time we’re in the area.”

“Finally got to stop by and check out this spot. It gets busy during peak hours. The quality of the coffee is great here. It’s furnished in a chic sophisticated style. Prices are average and it’s great to be here for a short stay. I’d say check it out during a slower time of the day. There is outdoor seating as well however it is limited. Definitely a place to add to your coffee shop Bucket list in Toronto!”
