The proteins in their dishes are delicious - I had the Octopus and Chorizo Tostada, and the Camarones a la Diabla, and in both cases, they were spiced and sauced to perfection. The tostada shell, however, had been deep fried for far too long - overcooked and very oily. This was a similar case with the Potato Flautas I ordered as an addition. 3 stars. Enjoyed the meat, did not enjoy what accompanied it.”

“First time going here and only the second time I’ve had Afghan food so I’m far from being an expert. Everything we had was delicious! We had the vaziri kebab and a couple of soltani kebab plates. Very flavourful with the seasonings and their spicy tomato sauce went so well with the kebabs. I loved their green tea as well. I think there were some spices in it as well. I detected some cardamom. Lovely experience! Highly recommended.”

“We got the brussels sprouts, mushroom flatbread, large pizza (split in half), umami burger, and side arugula & fennel salad between three people and we were FULL. Packed two slices of pizza and one slice of flatbread to go. All of the food was incredible - well seasoned, great flavours, perfect cook. We also picked up a loaf of their sourdough which we're very excited to have at home. Our waitress was very professional and friendly, answering our many questions about the food. She provided solutions to our food and drink indecisiveness with suggestions that turned out to be exactly what we needed. Even the bartender stopped by at one point to help suggest beers! The waitress' timing to check in on us was great - not over bearing and there when we needed. The food was served in a timely manner, the atmosphere was cozy and chic, tables and chairs were clean. The smallest little tidbit of a qualm was the bathroom mirror was hung too high and I couldn't see myself, and the light that encircled the mirror shined directly into my eyes (#shortgirlproblem), but honestly I don't really have any complaints! The prices are reasonable, especially for the quality of food and service. Will definitely be returning to check out their lunch menu.”

“I visited later around closing time and despite this the lady at the register was very friendly and accommodating. Their butter croissants tend to lean on the sweeter side but still very flaky and have a great butter flavour (see cross section photo). I would argue one of the best croissants in Thornhill. Everything else I tasted showed that there was a lot of care and attention put into the making of these. The box it came in is beautiful as well, whether you are coming in to purchase as a gift or for yourself I would recommend Lumiere.”

From the time we entered I could see that the staff was on top of their game and efficient and quick. We ordered three different dosas . The best part definitely were those four chutneys. IMHO have never eaten better tasting chutneys before chef! Pls maintain the quality! Dosas I would say were average esp since one came cold as if it had been made before (rava dosa). The quantity of the sambhar was measly and not hot as it should be. The madras coffee was ok. Service was so quick. Will def try other items on the menu . Lots of parking available and it’s quiet a big place so lots of seating available. They also sell savoury snacks and some sweets at a counter I just got a reply to my review that Sambhar and chutneys can be refilled at no extra charge but I do wish this is mentioned to you or written on the menu so the customer knows.”

“Amazing Italian pizza made-to-order, baked fresh in a large oven or hot and ready by-the-slice. Dough is prepared daily, sauce is made in-house and the toppings are fresh. The crust is a perfect balance of chew, soft and crunch. Service was punctual, polite and professional. The menu includes vegetarian and vegan pizzas as well as calzones and salads. If you're really hungry or have many mouths to feed they offer a Jumbo pizza. Location is a busy downtown storefront. The street is one-way with parallel pay-parking (free 2-hr after 6pm) which fills up fast at peak times. There is minimal seating inside with just a few tables. Inside is cramped during peak times with multiple customers ordering, waiting and dining in. Prices are a medium to high, but on par for a gourmet pizza. The means justifies the end as you enjoy a great tasting pizza.”

The great thing about it is these simple meals were cooked perfectly. My easy over eggs were just right, potatoes, sausages and bacon are crispy and not drenched in oil. Pancakes were fluffy and delicious. Rye toasts are great too, a bit too much butter for my liking but they are tasty nonetheless. They have little tarts to take home too if you’d like.
