“Great experience after a camping and fishing excursion. Nice brewery with an outdoor patio and large covered tent for the colder months. My friends and I ordered a round of Stein (equivalent of 3 tall cans) glasses with Home in the Wall beers. There is a $15 entry fee per person into the tent, and includes live music. To go with our drinks my friends chose the Dirty Bird sandwich, and I opted for the Reuben sandwich. Hands down the Reuben is the way to go. The Reuben is a heavier sandwich, but much more satisfying to go with the beer. The brewery does not offer tours, but the brewery is situated along a river with nice views. My friends and I also grabbed some beers to go. There are many variations to choose from in tall can form. This location is a popular spot and can fill up quickly. We were lucky and able to snag a table walk-in. Overall it was a good experience and would return. I also like the Stein glasses that you get to keep.”

The reviews were spot on, everything from the food, drinks to the service were excellent! Unfortunately they don't take reservations, its small place and it was packed however it's worth the wait if you have the time! Thanks for a great night we'll be back!”

“Quite underwhelming. Our initial server first tried to seat us at the same table as 2 other people (intended for 4 ppl), which was bizarre as we did not know the people, and they were not even asked ahead of time if it would be alright. The server just wandered us over, said "how about here?" with a smile that said they knew it would be awkward, upon which we turned it down - for a table which was totally free, 5 steps away, in the process of being cleaned. After this, things went smoothly - we sat on the patio, where there was a menu written in chalk on the pillars outside. As this was our first time here, we had no idea, and were not pointed to this unofficial menu at all by our server. We would've probably got an appetizer from there if we saw it, but neither of us were disappointed after the fact, as the food wasn't so good. It tastes fine while you eat it, and it's presented kinda well, but we both had stomach aches after the fact. Probably their ingredients aren't the highest quality - and for the price, I could go anywhere else in Guelph, pay the same amount, and get great food and great service. In any case, it wasn't horrible. Would give 2.5 stars if I could. We got the duck stroganoff and the steak and mushroom pie. The best part of the restaurant was the location - you're surrounded by green on the patio.”

“Schnitzel for breakfast is always a great option. It was tender and nicely breaded. Breakfast is ok. Nice having the grilled veggie side option. Service could be better but I do understand we went at a busier time. It would be worth going back for their apple pie. The pie would've been even better if warmed up but that option was not offered. It was taken directly from the fridge and served on the plate. They were so busy I didn't bother asking.”

“My 4 year old and I make the trip from Brooklin whenever we want ice cream even though we have a shop here that sells kawartha dairy… the ice cream and flavour selection is just as good but what we really love is how cute the shop is and how friendly the owners are! Super clean spot, warm atmosphere and delicious ice cream. Highly recommend!”

“We stopped by the red house for dinner and had the arugula and goat cheese salad, the house burger and the veggie lasagna. The salad was pretty good. The combo of spicy arugula with goat cheese and a sweet praline topping is hard to get wrong. The salad is available in two sizes - the side size and a meal size. We got the meal size which is not going to fill most people up. However the quality is decent. The house burger was good but a tad on the salty side for me. The bun is excellent and soft. The stand out for me were the fries. They seemed fresh cut and crispy, with the skins on. The basil aioli is special. The only miss for me.is that the entire meal is on the salty side, which is alright for a pub meal with alcoholic drinks. The veggie lasagna was on the drier side, which didn't require the two large pieces of bread with it. The lasagna was also not reheated properly all the way through which was disappointing. Overall, we were pretty hungry and the meals were fine. I remember the food experience being a lot better in the past.”

“Best Fish and Chips in Toronto. While they have a lot of seafood options to choose from, the fish and chips are a must if you come here. I have had fish and chips at numerous restaurants across the city and can easily say this is the best by far. The fish is lightly battered and is not greasy. Moreover, the two pieces of fish are huge and meaty unlike a lot of places which has too much batter. The fries were also delicious and the coleslaw was great. We were seated at the bar as tables are limited due to the size of the establishment. Overall, a must try for people who like fish and chips. Just make sure you call in advance to make a reservation if you want to be seated at a table.”

“In Regards To Your Response: Maybe you should get a new job as cooking is clearly not for you. If you valued your customers than you should have not put out the quality you did and corrected it yourself before it reached the table. Also, based on some of the most recent reviews, I'm clearly not the only one who has a problem with the quality either. I like how you believe that your mistakes should fall on the customer. I've gone ahead and attached a picture for you of some of my food that is clearly burnt. Thanks for coming out with your rude response as I was just giving an honest review. Now people will also know that you clearly don't care at all and with that attitude? I'd highly doubt you would have corrected anything. Now you get 1 star. They brand themselves high, but very mediocre food. As someone who both cooks and is a food critic I must say I was surprised at the low quality for the price. 1. Garlic bread they claim has loads of cheese, didn't have much at all but was fresh so you basically paid $11.50 for a loaf of bread. 2. The mussels were delicious this was their best dish, however, they were very small mussels and at $16. Other places offer the larger ones for this price. 3. The steak was very plain for something to apparently have butter, the pasta and parm was very plain and nothing special and the French fries were not fresh at all and the vegetables weren't even steamed long enough. Parm dinner $20 Steak dinner $30. 4. The server was absolutely fantastic which is the only reason for the two star. Conclusion: Around $96 for the dinner that was mediocre at best. I'd recommend adding more flavor to your dishes (spices and change the ingredients) and lastly if you make a claim on your menu ie. loads of cheese, please do so. Probably won't be going back to give it another chance after that price and quality and it's very unfortunate as I was looking for a new go to place. Best of luck :)”

“Pretty good! I liked the hot and honey chicken sandwich, juicy and flavourful. The poutine was really good, probably the best I’ve had so far in the region, big fan of the gravy. The salted caramel shake was heavenly. No dine in, which is really inconvenient and something to be aware of before you visit. Also it took 35 minutes before my mobile order was ready? The service is pretty quick if you order in person so I’d recommend that over mobile order”
