Ports Cafe
4.7
( 16 reviews )

4432 W Lake Rd, Geneva, NY 14456, United States

“Ports Cafe was a very good restaurant during our recent Finger Lakes trip. The service was fast and congenial, and I appreciated the easy reservations and ample parking. The decor inside was standard fare, but it was lively on a weekday night. The food options were similarly fairly standard, but everything we tried was good to great, and the wine options were delicious.”

“I really enjoyed pick your own fish and grill it fresh approach. I chose with my wife a stripe bass and calamari grilled. I thought the food was a little bit unrefined for the price. It was great tasting but cut really big and or not deboned properly and missing lemon wedges or under seasoned. I enjoyed the grilled calamari, and Greek salad but this was a big reason why I can’t rate higher. The bread was too blond also no char. The dips were good. Honestly I don’t think I’ll return because of the competition around. A solid seafood spot just missing refinement.”

Lumlum

404 W 49th St, New York, NY 10019, United States

“The food at LumLum is absolutely excellent, and they stay true to their recipes as I tried to request less spice in my dish, but they said that they couldn't alter the recipe. For me, that was a signal that the kind of Thai food I was ordering was truly authentic. I had one of their curries, and most of my friends ordered noodle dishes, which they all liked. I loved the decor and the space, but the restaurant itself is a bit crowded. There's barely any room to walk around, and for my party of 5, we really had to scoot close together and move the table to allow the party behind us to get up and leave / use the bathroom / etc. I would come here again, just with a smaller group.”

The Thirsty Koala

“For someone who has a gluten intolerance this place is worth a visit. The majority of the menu is gluten free or can be prepared gluten free and you would never know based on the options and flavors. Great happy hour with some creative cocktails. The service was friendly, including the owner Katherine who checked in on our table and all the others. Enjoyed all the dishes, but the crab cake bites and the haloumi & melon were standouts.”

“My friend and I ventured here the other day for an all you can eat feast. About $30 a person for hot pot was awesome! We got half and half herb broth and spicy. We loved the pumpkin, enoki mushrooms, noodles, fresh herbs, cabbage, corn, spinach, beef, dumplings, tofu skin, seafood - it was all delicious. The service was great and attentive. Ambiance was fun too - everyone around us was having a great time for a great reason. Will definitely be back to try the BBQ/ hot pot combo - wish we would have known about it. Sounds like an even better deal.”

We also had white and rose wine which was on there happy hour for $9 a glass. Great experience watching the chef cook our food too from the table.”

“Wow, this place is amazing. I honestly didn’t have super high expectations for an AYCE sushi place, but this place blew me away. The fish was fresh. The appetizers were amazing and the service was great. Most impressively was the attention to detail. I ordered the BBQ squid and it was l grilled. Would highly recommend this restaurant!”

“H2O Seafood & Sushi is a culinary haven that had us grinning from ear to ear. From the first spoonful of their New England clam chowder, we knew we were in for a treat. Creamy, brimming with tender clams and savory applewood bacon, it was like a warm hug on a chilly evening. The duck tacos, the special of the day, were a revelation! Succulent duck meat danced inside crispy taco shells, a fusion of flavors that burst with every bite. The mango and cilantro toppings were the perfect partners, elevating this dish to culinary genius. And then there was the Starr Roll, a sushi creation that left us dazzled. It was a masterpiece, every bite a tantalizing journey of freshness. The creamy avocado, delicate salmon, and just-right tempura crunch with spicy mayo combined for a symphony of flavors that lingered long after the plate was cleared. The wasabi delivers a powerful, invigorating kick that elevates every bite to a flavor explosion! Our dining experience was made all the more exceptional by our server, Nick. His attentiveness and friendly demeanor added a personal touch that we greatly appreciated. H2O Seafood & Sushi is more than a restaurant; it's a celebration of flavors, an experience to remember. If you're in the mood for the best clam chowder, inventive specials, and sushi that wows, this is your place. A huge thank you to Nick and the entire team for an unforgettable evening!”

Freund's Fish Market

4301 15th Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11219, United States

“I'm on a keto diet and I needed wild salmon so I drove here for an hour on purpose! I could not choose the color myself, because the refrigerator where the fish was supposed to lie did not work! the employees just told me that they had it and carried it from somewhere for a very long time. At home, I discovered that this is not wild salmon, because it has no smell and is not the same color as usual!”

“They were so gracious about my dietary restrictions and allowed me to make substitutions. They do not have much vegetarian option. The hot soups/broths are made with bonito (fish). I ended up getting a cold noodle dish to avoid the soup and got salad dressings instead of dipping sauces. I also got vegetable tempura, which was great. They have cold and hot soba options, both are great.”

“Daesung is an authentic Korean noodle house with a wide selection of soup noodles. The number of appetizers is less. But with the generous entree portion, complimentary kimchee and radish, and the delicious seafood pancake, I think most eaters will be leave the restaurant with a full belly and a takeout box. Street parking was easy at lunch time.”

“Absolutely love this restaurant. Definitely one of my new favorites around the area. We went for my HB birthday with no reservation and they sat us down right away. We picked the corner on the outdoor area. The service was great and attentive, the food was delicious and pretty big portions. I definitely recommend the fried ravioli and the lobster pasta 🍝 drinks were also very good, actually I had one of the best margaritas here! Will definitely come back!”

The new appetizer platter and Thai wings were perfect for sharing and to get the table going while waiting for the main course. Music, drinks, and service are top notch! Niko, the manager made sure we have a good time. Thank you for always rolling out the red carpet whenever I come by. Arguably one of the best Shaking Crab branches!”
