Fleet Feet Syracuse
4.9
( 8 reviews )

5800 Bridge St, East Syracuse, NY 13057, United States

“I went on a busy Thursday afternoon and did have a bit of a wait but I was informed of that at check in. When it was my turn (I had probably a 30-45 minute wait) I had the full attention of Dan who got me fitted and measured and explained my results. He listened to what I said. I am not a runner. I walk daily and needed a solid comfortable high quality sneaker. I still had a pair of sneakers I’d purchased at Fleet Feet more than 5 years ago. We started with three options and I found what I liked among those choices. He also helped me with the Oofos sandals. He never rushed or hurried me. He thanked me for my patience but it was well worth the wait. I won’t wait “years” to go back next time.”

Vital Climbing Gym - Brooklyn
4.7
( 8 reviews )

221 N 14th St, Brooklyn, NY 11249, United States

“It was just amazing experience. The best climbing gym ever. I never have done lead climbing or natural rock climbing so basically never have experienced the feeling of climbing outdoor. You can experience the feeling in the safe and pleasant environment... they have attractive bouldering walls outside, on the second floor. I really wish to have a home gym like this!”

Ride Brooklyn

( 8 reviews )

468 Bergen St, Brooklyn, NY 11217, United States

“Went in not knowing what to expect, and fearing the worst as I know absolutely squat about bikes, but I've ridden a friend's Cannondale mountain bike and absolutely fell in love with it. I knew I wasn't ready for anything more than an entry level mountain bike but hoped to find something I could use for riding around for fun, exercise, commuting, and most of all be affordable. Dan helped me out, and carefully listened to my needs and wants, and made some fantastic suggestions to me. I felt so welcome and excited about his enthusiasm for biking I bought a Giant Talon 1 on the spot. I'll be sure to pop in whenever my bike needs some maintenance, I want/need new accessories, and I strongly urge you, if you're reading this, to pop in. Best decision I made for myself in a long time.”

Rock And Snow
4.8
( 8 reviews )

44 Main St, New Paltz, NY 12561, United States

“I shopped around and could not find a better price on name brand static line and accessory cord by the foot. Backcountry Gear's price is close, but their customer reviews are mixed and I hadn't heard of the brand. Shipping was free and not noticeably slower than the big online retailers. The product was as advertised. I'm really impressed that a local retailer can run such a strong online store. Rock and Snow will be my first stop for buying climbing gear online.”

Movement Gowanus (formerly The Cliffs At Gowanus)
4.7
( 8 reviews )

242 Butler St, Brooklyn, NY 11217, United States

“Great climbing Gym with a ton of routes. Grading was a little hard. Got there around 5 on a Wednesday and there was ample space to climb. By 7 it was crowded. Ropes area was still spread out though. Roof terrace with hammocks is awesome and something I haven't seen at a gym before. I'm traveling and tend to visit a lot of climbing gyms, this is one of my favorites (and the first time I've seen a $34 day pass)”

“This is a great gym! My sister has been training here for a while, so I tried out the beginners boxing class yesterday afternoon and was extremely impressed. Coach Kevin is an awesome trainer, who will push you to learn while getting a top notch workout. He is also a super nice guy and after seeing him interact with students in his young boxers class, I’m looking forward to bringing my son here soon as well. Cool place worth checking out for sure- Thanks Coach Kevin!”

Emerson Park
4.5
( 16 reviews )

6877 E Lake Rd, Auburn, NY 13021, United States

“One of my favorite spots. Beautiful places to walk right next to the water. The Father’s Day Car show is always a wonderful time to visit. Plenty of picnic tables, a playground, bathrooms, and benches nicely spaced out. It is well taken care of and always a clean place to enjoy the lake with your family.”

Abc Sports & Fitness
4.7
( 16 reviews )

3 Johnson Rd Unit 1, Latham, NY 12110, United States

“When I moved here I visited every gym in the area. It’s truly the place to be. What I love about ABC is that yes it’s a gym for competitors. Powerlifting, bodybuilding, strongman etc but if you are none of those things it’s so welcoming. I lived in 4 different states and this is the first gym that despite my fitness level I fell welcomed. I’m motivated by those who are competing & I love how ABC shares on their INSTA their customers. My only complaint is that because it’s the place to be it is PACKED all the time. I work from home and even the 11-2:00pm slots are crazy. I won’t knock a star because this is great for a business. Hopefully expansion is in the business plan. Also they have a women’s focused area that has been such a safe space while built my confidence. Amazing place to work out and affordable”

Tim Hortons Iceplex
4.3

Close until 07:00 AM

2700 Brighton Henrietta Town Line Rd, Rochester, NY 14623, United States

“An ice rink should always be able to offer something warm to drink such as coffee or tea, especially one called Tim Hortons. I have been there several times for league hockey games and nothing was available. They had vending machines for ice cream, cotton candy and more, but nothing for a hot drink.”

Plattekill Mountain
4.6
( 8 reviews )

469 Plattekill Rd, Roxbury, NY 12474, United States

“I’ve been skiing for 56 years and though I’ve never skied out West, I have skied from as far North as Jay, to as far South as heli-skiing the Andes in Portillo Chile. In my East Coast list of must mountains to be skied, I include Jay Peak, Mad River Glen, and Plattekill. Sure there are other great skiing mountains in the Northeast, and I have skied many of them, but put me in the woods at Platty on one of those elusive deep POW days and you’re going to get in runs that most people only dream of. Last year we hit Platty just right. Because of its location in the Catskills, it’s a mini snow globe, and they can get Lake Effect accumulation. Mix that in with a big dump and POW, it’s Northeast woods skiing at its best. Run after run, you get a fresh line, all day long. And because Platty is off the beaten path, you’re never going to see the crowds that most ski areas strain under. Great, cozy lodge, always a warm fire, great people, beers, and waffles from the Platty Shack! A ski experience not to be missed. True old school vibe at its best. Hats off to the Platty team! Applause to the Snow Farmers!”

Long Island Mma And Fitness Center

“Hands down the best training facility on Long Island. Always clean and well maintained. Since day 1, my coaches and training partners have been nothing but supportive and welcoming, making it such a motivating environment to be in. The coaches are so knowledgeable and professional, truly masters of their craft. Every time I come here there’s no doubt in my mind that I’m learning from the best in the game.”

It Was Fitness

( 10 reviews )

26-50 Brooklyn Queens Expy W, Queens, NY 11377, United States

“This is by far the best gym and juice bar/ kitchen in the area 💯. I found this gym on ClassPass, I came to the 11am boxing class with Divino. He’s excellent, the class is good for begginers and more experienced athletes, I’m glad I partnered with someone at a comparable level to me. We had a blast, the drills were fun and incorporated a lot of movement, I took it easy and went through the motions without a lot of impact. TRY THIS CLASS! The food here is excellent as is the service. I hade the fiesta wrap, it was fresh and delicious the must pay well because the staff here is all super friendly and attentive, the clerk making my wrap was super eager to make my food, they also offer to refill your water bottles here which is so bizarre for any NYC establishment. The layout of the gym is a little wonky but I like it, it gives the space personality IMO and as a real estate agent, I can also say that the renovations they have made recently really make the premium for joining worth it. There are lots of machines, everything is clean and new. It feels like a Lifetime fitness or an e”Equinox but not precious, it was designed for people that want to get fit and enjoy a luxury experience without the attitude or without going into the city. Oh and there is an indoor basketball court. The only thing missing is towel service and a steam room. Good job BQE fitness you have a new member.”

Route 96 Power & Paddle

Open until 05:00 PM

1035 Owego Rd, Candor, NY 13743, United States

“I went to this store on the advice of a friend to purchase a Husqvarna 580BTS for backpack blower. Sam had the machine set up properly and the staff was very friendly and informative as to how everything worked. While we were there, we checked out the other stores and purchased a new pair of sneakers for me and a pair of hiking boots for my wife. Again, the staff in the shoe store we’re very friendly and knowledgeable of the products they sell. We will be making the trip back when I require other products they sell. Thanks again.”

Lake Isle Country Club

660 White Plains Rd, Eastchester, NY 10709, United States

“Lovely place for the families to spend time during the summer months. There is something for everyone to do from toddlers to senior citizens. There is a sand pit with some slides which is a favorite spot for my kids. In total there are five pools (one for really young ones under 12 months old, one for 3-7, one Olympic size pool with partition done for the lanes, one adult pool and one diving pool). There is a snack place which server usual candies etc plus fries other quick to eat snacks. Overall we love to go there as there is a lot of seating with enough sun and shade so you can choose.”

Southtowns Family Ymca

1620 Southwestern Blvd, Buffalo, NY 14224, United States

“The facilities are quite excellent. The sauna has just recently been completely refurbished and is quite nice. I'd give it 5 stars if only some of the patrons there could realize that the sauna/hot tub/steam room are often a place where a person wants to experience a bit of relaxing solitude instead of hearing folks discuss the minutiae of their daily experiences AT THE LOUDEST POSSIBLE SPEAKING LEVEL. I took to the swimming pool to escape someone's conversation about accounting and, no word of exaggeration, I could still hear them droning on from the far end of the pool with my ears under water. I am not supposing that people not be allowed to speak to one another whatsoever, but it's fairly rude and oblivious to have to endure people as much as shouting to someone two feet away from them in what might otherwise be a placid aquatic environment. Still, it's not implicitly the YMCA's responsibility for thee LOUD TALKERS WITH NO SELF-AWARENESS, but it doesn't make the experience bthe Haven of quietude that some of us seek.”
