7 Whiteface Inn Ln, Lake Placid, NY 12946, United States
“We are repeat guests of The Whiteface Lodge and are looking forward to our return there next week! I had an issue with my reservation and the front desk manager, Fara, resolved it over the phone quickly and was super friendly. At our past visits, every staff person we've encountered has been wonderful. The food at the restaurants is always tasty and the surroundings are so cozy and beautiful. My kids love coming for the movie theater, the game room, the ice skating rink, the indoor/outdoor pool and more. This place is truly unique. We can't wait to be back!”

“Stayed with a friend for a two-week vacation, in a room with two double beds. The room was clean, in good shape, and surprisingly spacious (closet space is limited though). The staff are excellent, and housekeeping is amazingly prompt. The hotel is also in a great location, within walking distance of much of midtown Manhattan and with easy access to the 6 train. City noise was noticeable but not ridiculous. Our room faced 27th St., so an interior room would probably be quieter. Overall this is a fantastic hotel! I thoroughly enjoyed the stay and would definitely return.”

“I feel like the reviews do not give this hotel justice. We booked it as a fairly cheap option for our 8 night stay over New Years, and looking at the reviews and pictures our expectations were quite low. However the hotel had great service …”

“Great location in the financial district. Lot's of subway access. The rooms are beautifully decorated, as is the hotel lobby. But, there is one BIG drawback...it's SO NOISY, even by NYC standards. I swear the windows are paper thin and you can hear cars endlessly driving over a loose manhole on the neighboring street. Constant, maddening, rattling. Also, the room doors do not shut smoothly, so you'll hear every guest on the floor slamming their door at all hours. If you are sensitive to noise in the slightest, this is not the hotel for you. Even if you're not, bring ear plugs!”

“We had SUCH a wonderful stay with our one-year-old here over the holidays! We booked a junior suite which was a stunning corner room with floor to ceiling windows and great views - it was the perfect size for a family of three. The staff was wonderful, very attentive and so kind to our baby, even playing with her in the lobby and offering stickers. Our room was stocked with a crib, extra blankets and pillows, baby soap, a fridge, and more! We were very comfortable here for nearly a week and could have stayed longer. Also loved the thoughtful touches like morning coffee and evening prosecco in the lobby! If you know NYC you already know how phenomenal this location is - so much is walkable and then the subway is right there if you want to explore even farther. We will absolutely be back!”

“For the price you pay, the rooms are definitely not worth it in my opinion. It is a good hotel though and the location is great! There is a “resort” fee of $25 per night that you should be aware of. It barely covers breakfast for one person per night of stay. The rooms were clean and service was relatively decent barring one of the front desk ambassadors. All in all, if you’re not worried about price then it’s a good hotel.”

“I have been searching various Marriott owned hotels on Long Island for the best fit and this is it! Very clean rooms, especially the air quality in the rooms. Very courteous staff. Love the bar and restaurant, the food is great, the drink selection is great! It's especially worth noting the wonderful service from Adrianna the bartender. She is very attentive and makes you feel very comfortable. Her and this overall great experience will keep me coming back each time I am in town!”

“Second stay here in three months, and it just a pleasant as the first. Cordial staff and quick service (thanks Miranda and Jesus!) Rooms are spacious, though a little worn, and very quiet. The first stay was right next to the elevator, but we didn't hear it or any noise at night -- from the street or hall -- for that matter. The curtains block out the light pretty well. Had to play around with the air conditioning/heating to get the right room temperature, and that wasn't a real issue. Plenty of amenities nearby, including a deli with water/drinks etc. Down the street are a number of excellent restaurants at all price points, and the front desk offered many suggestions. Fabulous and safe location in Murray Hill, close to theaters, transport and shopping.”

“Nothing is hidden on the website. So just book the right room, and you'll have a great stay in the heart of Manhattan. We were there with our toddler, and that was the perfect stay with a view on the Empire and feeling home every evening thanks to the awesome fully equipped kitchen. Staff is genuinely kind and helpful. What else should you ask for ?”

“I do not like to leave bad reviews, but this needs to be left as a warning. Castle Hotel and Spa, Tarrytown, NY was taken over in May 2023. The owners are not interested in owning a hotel. They want to own a business. So, after buying it, …”

“This hotel was gorgeous and the quality/service was incredible! My wife and I came to NYC for a family celebration and spent our weekend here. The rooms were spacious and the beds were quite comfy. All staff members we interacted with were friendly and helpful. They provided us with delicious restaurant recommendations (highly recommend the Monkey Bar attached to the hotel if you can get a reservation) and set up reservations for when we arrived. They were also more than accommodating with our arrival and departure schedules when plans shifted around some. I should also note that the whole hotel is furnished with beautiful French antiques and florals which really add to the charm of the experience. The location of the hotel was also wonderful. So many shops! There are also lots of delicious restaurants only a few blocks away, and if you are up for a little longer walk, you can easily get to Time Square and Broadway The hotel also offers a complementary breakfast which later turns into a snack/coffee/tea room. We found the breakfast was more than substantial with yogurts, pastries, and some other options. It was great when we were in a hurry one morning, but also great when we were having a relaxing morning with tea/coffee before heading out for brunch. It was an amazing weekend and I will absolutely be coming back next time I am in NYC.”

“This was my first stay at the Civilian Hotel. My son and I spent an extra long weekend taking in some Broadway shows. We are so happy we chose this place! The location could not be better - very walkable to theaters and Times Square, yet …”

“We stayed in a King Suite and the room was extremely clean and spacious. I believe the rooms were recently renovated because the colors were very contemporary. The main room had a sofa and chair plus desk. There was also a bar with …”

“Pros: - great location, right off the L and G, near good coffee, bookstores, bars, restaurants - rooms are very quiet - modern decor - nice bar inside, although I didn’t get anything - parking is very easy, but pricey. I parked my 4 door jeep wrangler, it was $47 overnight. You pull up, and the attendant parks it for you. It’s the type of lot that has cars raised over each other, so not an easy or quick in-and-out kind of situation. I believe if you have a standard sized vehicle it would be a little less. The garage is nice, it’s monitored, and as you can see in the pic - right off the entrance. Have cash for tips. - staff is professional and nice Cons: - expensive. You’re paying for location but that is really it. - pets allowed (only 1, but they made an exception for me by letting me pay two fees) but it’s $100 fee and is not refundable. This is a steep fee IMO, and being non refundable seems crazy to make it that high.”

“Great hotel. Roomy rooms. Massive beds! Posh washer dryer toilets with heated seats. TV, fridge and a kettle (some complimentary teas and coffees would have been nice but no biggie). The location is excellent. Close enough to many of the NY attractions that are within walking distance (Times Square, Empire State, Rockerfella, Broadway, and Central Park a bit further up. The hotel has a lovely Japanese restaurant, we got a 10% discount for being guests at the hotel. Really great food and friendly service. Overall really pleased with whole experience”

“Derrick and Zay, the two hotel desk clerks were so pleasant. The room was nice and clean but wish it were a little more spacious. The location was perfect for a first time visit to New York. Everything was within walking distance. Thank you for helping make our stay a great one.”
