The staff was friendly and helpful, the location right on the river and close to shops on Main St was amazing, the rooms were comfortable (I had one with a balcony - having a screen door was unique and cool). The complimentary breakfast was delicious. The hotel is located in an area near restaurants, movie theater and shopping area. I had a wonderful time staying at the Hilton. “We spent the last few days trekking through the Quebec taiga. Heading home, we layed over in Plattsburgh, NY at the Hampton Inn. The accommodations were clean and spacious. Beds we’re soft and comfortable. Hot tub and pool area was immaculate and felt amazing after our adventure in subarctic conditions. Karen, the manager on-duty, was so sweet and just absolutely lovely! Excellent, old-school customer service. We could tell she genuinely cares about her customers *and* staff. Although we are not Diamond Members, we felt particularly taken care of. I was also so happy to see how patient and nurturing she was with new staff she was training. We recommend this place 100%.”

“Had a bad experience while enjoying our stay talking with family received a call from the desk stating they had numerous complaints from multiple floors of the noise we were making. Actually watching the All Star game and talking at 1030pm. We needed to be quiet although we paid for our rooms just like everyone else. Lady across the hall came out she was sick with covid and could we not go back and forth between the rooms we occupied . The lovey shaggy rag front desk Kelly assumed we were in the wrong without listening that it was 2 family members on separate floors making the accusation. Never in all the hotels I've been in has anything like this happened. We have had partys before in a room. Never have I been worried about the noise anyone else is making. Let's learn to mind our own business. Moral of the story is don't stay here you may get arrested or thrown out because your neighbors money is better than yours. Never more offended.”

“The room, lobby and hallway was nice and clean. The heater system didn’t work. It seems like they have some automatic energy saver set up. The system would start, would not blow hot air and then shut off. It’s February and very cold in the room. The pressure in the shower wasn’t strong enough. Bed were comfy. There was not enough staff to bring up blankets. I had to go fetch them myself in the middle of the night. Would I stay here again. I’d probably search other places before I choose this place.”

“This has to be one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in as a family. We stayed for few months and i must say that the customer service was the best! I have to mention Jason and Daniel at the reception for their exceptional customer service. “I have been searching various Marriott owned hotels on Long Island for the best fit and this is it! Very clean rooms, especially the air quality in the rooms. Very courteous staff. Love the bar and restaurant, the food is great, the drink selection is great! It's especially worth noting the wonderful service from Adrianna the bartender. She is very attentive and makes you feel very comfortable. Her and this overall great experience will keep me coming back each time I am in town!”

“Very unprofessional staff and General Manger Dominique LaRosa. Kids screaming running around all times during the night. The hot water in the hotel took 20 minutes to get hot. The front desk said they know of the problem. They don't warn guests before issuing them a room. Front desk agent thought that it was funny smiling and laughing while I'm telling him my issues. Telling me that it only takes 4 minutes for the water to get hot. So again you know there's a issue don't warn guests about it. Dominique didn't do about it. No money off or anything claiming she couldn't do anything because I booked via third party. Room 302 dirty. They didn' patch work on ceiling in the room and only painted the affected area because you can clearly see that there's two different types of paint on the ceiling. Couch stained and dirty. Hotel definitely needs to learn attention to detail and customer service because they lacking in those areas. DON'T STAY HERE”

“The advertising shows there is a pool. There was masking tape over where the pool had been on the directory but no one told us till we were there and there had been numerous emails sent prior to check in not one mentioned no pool. Also, gym only good for maybe a couple and to alternate equipment use. Only one bench and light weights not enough room for proper stretching if more than 2 persons want to use Ata time. Rooms are clean but molding had been cracked and painted over and tub needs refinishing.other wise beds were comfortable and natural light in rooms are sufficient for comfort”

“This place isn't bad it is definitely clean. My bathroom toilet didn't flush right, but they quickly repaired it. The blinds in the room were tricky because they were controlled by a remote and kept malfunctioning. Should keep the blinds manual. Bed was comfy. The gym was good. Had a variety of weights, 3 treadmills a few bikes and 1 weight bench. Didn't use the pool. Breakfast was good; included waffle iron, egg omelets, oatmeal, cereal , bagels, muffins, bananas and oranges.”

“Positives first: The pillows were great!! The sheets were good. The room was neat and clean. The rest of the bed linens looked and felt cheap. The mattress was adequate but not exactly comfortable. Overall, the bed was adequate but disappointing. The door to my room was literally bent at the bottom. The door needed a little extra pressure from the inside to close and a sustained shove to engage the deadbolt. (photo & video) I booked the room both last-minute and late at night and this may have been a factor in the preparation of my room. The air smelled stale. Low temps hit 32° that night and I had to manually turn on the heat. The towels were thin. In the shower were 2 bottles of conditioner, 1 bottle of shampoo, and no soap/body wash. (photo) I notified the front desk at checkout and some comment or question about the ability to call and have it changed was made by the clerk. I don't think it was meant to be rude and I wasn't offended, but it indicates real ignorance and a failure to process feedback from this guest. Scrambled eggs & plain omelettes were served together at the same breakfast buffet. Literally the same food in different shapes. Why? (photo) Both turkey and pork sausage were also served and I respect legitimate and common dietary reasons to offer an alternative to pork sausage. As of 01/08/2024, a printed notice regarding roof work references a 2-3 wk project expected to begin 11/01/2023 and was still posted. (photo) The project is still in progress.”

“**Review of Martinique Hotel** I recently stayed at the Martinique Hotel, and while the experience was not without its flaws, there were certainly some standout aspects worth mentioning. First and foremost, the hotel's antique charm is undeniable. From the grand staircase to the classic décor, it's a photographer's dream. However, during my stay, the hotel was undergoing construction, which unfortunately obstructed the view from our room windows with scaffolding. This was disappointing, as it detracted from the overall ambiance. Despite this setback, the small size of the hotel added to its charm, giving it a cozy and intimate feel. The retiring doorman, who shared his plans to move to North Carolina, added a personal touch to our stay, and I wish him all the best in his future endeavors. The lobby was another highlight, providing a comfortable space to relax and unwind after a day of exploring the city. Additionally, the hotel's proximity to the subway made it convenient for getting around, and the 20-minute walk to Times Square offered a chance to take in the bustling city streets. One unexpected delight was the brunch we enjoyed across the street at The Herald restaurant. The food was excellent, and it added to the overall positive experience of our stay. In conclusion, the Martinique Hotel may have its quirks, but its classic charm and friendly staff make it a worthwhile choice for those seeking a unique New York City experience.”
