Ramen Ishida

122 Ludlow St, New York, NY 10002, United States

“One of the top 2 ramen in the US outside of Japan. It is that good. Small space of only 10 ppl but that new tokyo shoyu ramen deliver. There are a lot of “best ramen ever” post out there but this is the only place worthy of that title in NYC. ChaSiu Don was a great appetizer. I am quite harsh on ramen but the light truffle with the shoyu soup base is amazing. Highly recommended. Come give it a try and lmk if I am wrong”

435 Hudson St, New York, NY 10014, United States

“This place is amazing! I had the Omakase with a sake pairing, and although it was a really expensive meal, it was really, really good. The atmosphere is wonderful, and the restaurant design is pretty cool. The service was top-notch and the waitstaff was super attentive without being intrusive. If you are looking for a non-typical Japanese restaurant that makes their own tofu and has some really good sake, this is definitely it.”

100 W 82nd St #5502, New York, NY 10024, United States

“My kids are Hibatchi-obsessed! Every city we go to on our travels, they ask if there's a hibachi restaurant. And I love it because it's one of the few meals everyone is happy to eat AND it keeps them entertained. Flame is definitely at the top of our list. Our chef was adorable and talented and the food was delicious! (Which is the main problem with most hibachi places) Everything was really yummy and I was so happy to see all three of my kids gobbling everything up. It is on the pricey side but I think that's just NYC prices, nothing out of the ordinary.”

“Was looking for a new sushi place to try while in Henrietta and found this place! So happy I did. Just walking in and seeing the decor, I knew I'd like it here. The bento dinner was perfect and the rolls were wonderful. The staff was friendly. I enjoyed dining here!!!”

Sushi By Bou

132 W 47th St, New York, NY 10036, United States

“Delicious omakase-especially since it was our first time! It was very much a secretive basement restaurant vibe! Seats about 8 people and is 45-50 mins long which is perfect! The sushi chef puts on a show and tells us what each delectable bite of sushi was. We very much enjoyed the 12 piece course, definitely need to visit again soon!”

Rice Bowl

253 W 55th St, New York, NY 10019, United States

“I didn't expect it, but this place has the best salmon sashimi outside of Japan I've had thus far--which is really weird considering it's not even a sushi place. Everything else was delicious as well. Great deal for the price.”

36 E 22nd St, New York, NY 10010, United States

“Food was underwhelming. The tasting menu (first course with caviar and Asian pear and crispy seaweed) was a winner. The rest were mid. The smokiness in every dish did not have a significant progression or change of palate. The porridge was mid and the sweet potato donut for dessert was a chewy and dense. Was not a fan. Great service and attentive staff. But unfortunately I don’t think I’d be back.”

“After calling several places, Shogun was the only place that was able to accommodate my party of 14. Very friendly, engaging, and attentive staff. The food show was great and delicious. Unfortunately, they don't have kids' menus, but they were able to eat from my serving. Portions are perfect. Parking is not the best, so plan on going early to look for parking. I will definitely go back.”

“Amazing sushi and ramen/udon spot. I can’t wait to come back, and will recommend it to others. I highly recommend getting the vegetarian pancake with bonito flakes, it is suppose to come with pork belly, but I asked them not to include that since I was eating with a vegetarian. I had ramen in my friend had mushroom udon, and we were both very full. We also got hot sake, which I highly recommend, it’s always a great addition to any meal :) The service was wonderful, the staff was very kind and attentive. Thank you!”

4.5
( 8 reviews ) $$

230 Thompson St, New York, NY 10012, United States

“A small ramen restaurant with not so many seats. We visited on Sunday noon, and it’s pretty empty. The restaurant is specialized with spicy noodles. My husband tried mild and I had the pork done soup with level 2 spicy. Level 2 is not spicy at all to me. The soup is rich, and the noodles are on the thin side. The only thing I don’t like is the meat in the noodles. It is very fatty and tastes a bit cold inside. I cannot eat second bite. We also ordered the appetizer sampler, I like the fired dumplings and fried chicken a lot.”

Lover's Sushi & Hibachi
4.8
( 8 reviews ) $$

13 Washington Ave, Endicott, NY 13760, United States

“Top marks across the board are well deserved. The custom decorative accents for each sushi plate were not expected, but heightened the dining experience. Dishes have flavor on top of the flair to be one of the best hidden gem sushi restaurants. Service would be on par with Japanese politeness you typically do not experience stateside. General vibe of the dining area was calm and relaxing, creative accenting with lights and wall decorations.”

Shinn East

119 E 7th St, New York, NY 10009, United States

“Made a last minute reservation and they seated us within 30 mins! The chef was quick because we were the last sitting but we didn't mind as we usually like to dine and leave. Each piece was generous especially the sashimi.... and the foie gras!!!! The best bang for omakase and definitely worth checking out.”

“Food is absolutely amazing. The fish is extremely high quality and tasty. I could not recommend this place more; definitely a great Japanese restaurant. The atmosphere is the weak link in the restaurant since everything else is so great. There are some cheaper options with specials, such as a lunch meal, but also more expensive options you can order. It does get quite busy so get there easy!”

“Excellent service! Liked the seating in private rooms. Very cute ambiance. Food was wonderful. We would gladly come back! We loved the veggie gyoza and 3 color roll entree. Also so impressed with the Chicken Teryaki dish. Thank you Tai Show Sushi!”
