“The room was pretty small, but was perfect for what we needed it for. We were attending a friend's holiday party from out of town. The bed was firm, bathroom/shower section didn't have a solid door but it did the trick. Modern fixings and an amazing big screen TV that easily pulled up YouTube so I could watch my favorite gossip show while getting ready. My friend and I really liked our stay. Definitely a hotel in the middle of the city. Staff was great.”

“Perfectly located next to Queens Plaza Subway station with stress free travel from JFK or LGA and also towards Manhattan. The hotel Manager and the crew is top friendly and helpful. Room was clean and tidy with fridge & coffeemaker and enough closet space for a longer stay. Hotel has a pretty good gym, guest laundry, breakfast/bar and pantry shop. Two doors down in same building is Hudson Food Market where one gets warm food, drinks, snacks and other supplies. My choice for next NYC visits 👍🏻”

“Great Hyatt option for families visiting NYC. It's a four minute walk to a subway that takes less than ten minutes to get you to 30 Rock. Room was clean and nice and four people shared it comfortably. Breakfast can get crowded, but there are better bagels at breakfast than any Hyatt Place I have ever stayed at. Staff all nice too.”

“It was a great stay for my family. Almost every family I saw was headed to legoland so expect tons of young children. The included breakfast had a great spread for the price point. “Very unprofessional staff and General Manger Dominique LaRosa. Kids screaming running around all times during the night. The hot water in the hotel took 20 minutes to get hot. The front desk said they know of the problem. They don't warn guests before issuing them a room. Front desk agent thought that it was funny smiling and laughing while I'm telling him my issues. Telling me that it only takes 4 minutes for the water to get hot. So again you know there's a issue don't warn guests about it. Dominique didn't do about it. No money off or anything claiming she couldn't do anything because I booked via third party. Room 302 dirty. They didn' patch work on ceiling in the room and only painted the affected area because you can clearly see that there's two different types of paint on the ceiling. Couch stained and dirty. Hotel definitely needs to learn attention to detail and customer service because they lacking in those areas. DON'T STAY HERE”

“Hotel is very nice. Clean and bright. Front lobby is very attractive. Plenty of tables to sit at. Breakfast was good. Front staff friendly. Our room was updated. It was very clean. Bathroom was a good size. Beds not so comfortable. Definitely will stay here again if in the area.”

“My wife and daughter stayed there for our Christmas holiday. Everyone was so personal and great. Loved the vibe and the location was spot on. Can't say enough good, from house keeping and more. They even had a Christmas buffet in the bar inclusive to all hotel guests. It was such a nice gesture and I do believed everyone loved it!! The rooms, depending, are small but have everything you need. My family travels from Georgia and usually we stay in the Columbia Circle area The LudLow is now our go to hotel. The lower east side is where it's at. Can't wait until our next visit.”

“I travel frequently all over the country, and prior to my stay here I spent the night in a hotel in Atlanta. The service, cleanliness, and overall my overall stay were not near what I experienced in Grand Island. Furthermore I spoke to the manager before I left. Very nice guy. Next time I'm in the area I will absolutely stay here. Very clean, very friendly staff, and overall a great stay.”

“The staff was very friendly and helpful and the hotel is in a great location right near a subway station. There is also a penthouse floor with stunning views of the city that provided a nice spot to work. Unfortunately, our room felt pretty grimy and unclean. The floors were sticky and the chairs in the room....let's just say I covered them with a towel before I felt comfortable sitting on them. The two redeeming qualities in the room were the comfortable bed and a window that opened to let some fresh air in.”

“Stayed in both the family suite (has two queen beds and a futon) and family studio (2 queen beds), rooms are spacious with a stove, refrigerator and microwave. We were traveling with 3 adults and 2 kids under 5. Breakfast had different options but it does get pretty crowded. There is street parking right outside and a parking lot across the street on College point blvd. ($24 for the day or $5 for 3 hours). Located in a good spot, a lot of bakeries and restaurants within walking distance and there's a shopping center behind the hotel.”

“Had a great stay at The Lake Motel last weekend - extremely clean room with a recently renovated bathroom and comfortable mattress. The desk attendant communicated well ahead of and during check-in. The decks down by the lake have beautiful views, nice chairs, and fire pits. Only challenge was with the wifi, but it was a stormy weekend, which may have been part of the cause. I had decently strong cell service (Verizon) in our room, but my partner who has a different carrier did not.”

“Wonderful! We stayed in the Excelsior Room. I got the romance package and the bubbly, flowers and chocolate covered strawberries were perfect. Great location- close to Watkins Glen and also many great wineries and breweries. Also not too far from Ithaca. Great hikes and waterfalls in both areas. Breakfast was delicious each morning and very accommodating to dietary needs. We would love to come back and definitely recommend to friends and family!”

“No one around to help. No climate control. Inner rooms had no view, and absolutely no wifi. Noisy air system, heat on crazy high in winter, had to open a window. No one was around to help. Emailed but didn’t hear back until after 4 pm. By then I chose to leave and go to Best Western Empire and it was 110% better experience. Go to Freehand, go to Moxy, go anywhere but here.”

“Stayed at this hotel during a recent visit to Ithaca and will NOT recommend to anyone looking for a decent place to stay. Here are few reasons why (not exhaustive): First of all the hotel appears to be be in a complete state of disrepair and in urgent need of updates, broken fixtures, dirty carpets, musky smelling rooms and hallways, ancient TVs that don't work etc. The hotel looks and operates like a motel but charges exorbitant hotel prices... Second, during my stay requests to fix essential broken items were mostly ignored. The toilet in my room did not flush during my entire stay and I made multiple requests to have it fixed but that never got done. Third, made requests to have my room cleaned but that never happened either Fourth, was billed a different amount than what was shown on my reservation. Tried to get the hotel to fix it by calling and emailing the manager. To date haven't received a callback from the manager or a response to my email. The only positive side to this hotel is the staff. With the exception of a few unpleasant staff, many were really nice, pleasant to speak with and were happy to help as much as they could. My two cents, you are better of spending your money on another hotel where you will get value for your money and be treated with respect. Just look at recent reviews about the hotel and you will see exactly what I am talking about. I ignored those reviews and paid the price for it.”

“My family and I have been coming to Baumanns for over 20 years and it is the perfect place in the mountains to vacation. We go the same week every year and have made so many friends there that make the week even that much more enjoyable! It is the perfect place to disconnect from your daily life and reconnect with family and friends. The staff is so welcoming and accommodating for anything you need. From the food to the day and nighttime activities- they really cover everything. We certainly love Baumann’s and countdown the days to our vacation every August!”

“Pros: - great location, right off the L and G, near good coffee, bookstores, bars, restaurants - rooms are very quiet - modern decor - nice bar inside, although I didn’t get anything - parking is very easy, but pricey. I parked my 4 door jeep wrangler, it was $47 overnight. You pull up, and the attendant parks it for you. It’s the type of lot that has cars raised over each other, so not an easy or quick in-and-out kind of situation. I believe if you have a standard sized vehicle it would be a little less. The garage is nice, it’s monitored, and as you can see in the pic - right off the entrance. Have cash for tips. - staff is professional and nice Cons: - expensive. You’re paying for location but that is really it. - pets allowed (only 1, but they made an exception for me by letting me pay two fees) but it’s $100 fee and is not refundable. This is a steep fee IMO, and being non refundable seems crazy to make it that high.”
