Holiday Trav-l-park Resort

( 8 reviews )
Open until 12:00 AM

9102 Coast Guard Rd, Emerald Isle, NC 28594, United States

“Awesome mini vacation and will definitely be back. We were at the front of the red section with only the dune separating us from the beach, so it was a short walk. The park is super clean and maintained. We rode bikes even though somewhat hilly and our big lab enjoyed playing in the ocean and meeting fellow fur people. Be sure to ride over to Beaufort and walk along the waterfront.”

Camp Clearwater
4.6
( 9 reviews )

2038 White Lake Dr, Elizabethtown, NC 28337, United States

“White lake was the perfect place to try out our kayak’s. The water is pretty with a small beach area and nice wooden swings. The campsite barely fit our 33 ft. camper and was very narrow. Luckily we did not have anyone on either side of us so it seemed like we had more room. When we go back will definitely get a premium site.”

Zooland Family Campground

( 8 reviews )

3671 Pisgah Covered Bridge Rd, Asheboro, NC 27205, United States

“We love this campground for so many reasons! It's great, spacious, pet friendly, great place to get a good walk in, and the customer service is outstanding! It's our go to for a quick getaway (we live about 40 minutes away!) or a Zoo visit!”

Indian Creek Campground

“We had a great time! Our first time there and regret not going sooner. We camped at site B which was fairly private and just the right size. We’ll def be back next year. Hopefully the fish will be a bit more hungry next time.”

Frisco Woods Campgrounds Inc
4.5
( 8 reviews )

53124 North Carolina Hwy 12, Frisco, NC 27936, United States

“Our family loves it here! Beautiful sunsets every night and every amenity you could need for a camping week. Our kids love the pool and pirate ships at the playground. We needed to move sites due to our senior dog having some issues, they were more than willing to accommodate us so we could finish out our week long vacation. Can’t wait to return next year!”

Carowinds Camp Wilderness
4.4
( 8 reviews )

14609 Catawba Trce, Charlotte, NC 28273, United States

”The staff at "The Lodge " are incredibly nice. In particular one older gentleman, we were in contact with quite a bit. He is just the type of person needed at the campground. Friendly and helpful. The campground is clean and quiet. You will hear the planes quite often, but you get used to it. Plenty of fun things for children to do. Big games outside, a net of some sort and places to ride their bikes supervised. The shuttle is great to take carowinds. A lot nicer then trying to find a parking space. Take advantage of it for sure! We enjoyed our stay!”

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park(tm) At Daddy Joe's

Open until 12:00 AM

626 Richard Wright Rd, Tabor City, NC 28463, United States

”Okay short version. Go here! Longer version. We went here the week after 4th of July. We had an absolute blast. This is the epitome of family fun. They have activities running all throughout the day for the whole family to do together (be sure to put the app on your phone) We were expecting it to be super crowded and wasn’t, we were expecting it to be a little run down and it wasn’t. The place far exceeded every song expectation we had of it. The ice cream was great, the small water park was perfect, the indoor pool was awesome, the staff was incredible. We stayed in the yurts and they were great as well. It was like camping in a 10ft tall huge tent with air conditioning, mini fridge, and microwave. The bath house for the yurts was awesome as well. Very short walk from any of the yurts and you have your own bathroom. You have the only key to it and it’s yours as long as your there. These are brand new bath houses that opened in May of 2023 We loved it and will definitely be going back! Thank you to the staff for such a great stay!”

Moonshine Creek Campground
4.6
( 8 reviews )
Open until 11:00 AM

2486 Dark Ridge Rd, Sylva, NC 28779, United States

”Very nice and well managed campground. The problem was the noise from the lawn maintenance. Started about 8 am. Lasted for several hours. So much for peace and tranquility. I understand that maintenance needs done. However , this was going on too long. Was tent camping, so especially noisy.”

Asheville West Koa Holiday
4.3
( 8 reviews )

309 Wiggins Rd, Candler, NC 28715, United States

”Positives: Staff at check-in were very friendly. The location was close enough to Asheville , which was convenient for activities. Negatives: The highway noise was bad. I am surprised other reviews did not mention this enough times. We were offered free ear plugs and suggested apps for white noise at check-in. We were in a pull thru site nearest the highway, but it wouldn't have mattered if we were 2 rows over. There was an air of neglect about the place. Roads are narrow and need some work ( potholes, need more gravel). Campground runs on well water and we were encouraged to conserve. No judgment, just a fact. No grass at site, just gravel and leaves.”

Flintlock Campground
4.5
( 16 reviews )

171 Flintlock Campground Dr, Boone, NC 28607, United States

”The owners are so kind and caring. The creek here is absolutely beautiful, and it is right beside the campgrounds, very easily accessible. This site is close to town, which is very convenient, but the sound of the cars driving by on the road can easily be heard and does take away some of the peacefulness of camping. Also, the campsites are a little closer together than I am used to, and the bathrooms did smell a little like mildew. Even still, I gave this place five stars because of the outstanding customer service and hospitality, which really stood out to me. Thank you for the lovely visit. God bless you.”

Emberglow Outdoor Resort
4.9
( 8 reviews )

95 Pinewood Trail, Mill Spring, NC 28756, United States

”Was probably the nicest and most well thought out campground we've ever been to (I've been to quite a few- have been camping since I was a kid). The layout, the extremely unique rental units, the extremely clean bathrooms and showers, the front office store, activities, etc. They put attention to every aspect. Will be going back again in the summer to enjoy the pool and tons of summer activities!”

Green Acres Family Campground
4.6
( 16 reviews )

1679 Green Acres Rd, Williamston, NC 27892, United States

”We stopped for one night on our way to Ocracoke as this was the only campground in this area. We stayed at site #1 overlooking 2 pools and the small lake. The campground appears to be family owned and the front desk staff are helpful and friendly. The place is dated, but I doubt small kids would care because there are plenty of activities…playgrounds, mini golf, a game room (we think it was closed when we arrived), big open fields with lots of running room for kids. There are some paddle boats and kayaks near the lake that we assume are for rent. The ladies bathroom was very clean with 3 commodes and 3 shower stalls with privacy. There is a space heater inside for colder weather. A laundry is on site next to the ladies room, though 1 of the 3 washers was out. The washers and dryers are $1.25 each. There are many full time residents with older RV’s and some that looked like weekend use places. The lake water was low, but we saw a gorgeous sunset over the lake. All in all, I’m glad we stopped as it was both quiet and friendly. But I could not stop humming the Green Acres TV theme song in my head!!! lol”

Boone Koa Holiday
4.4
( 8 reviews )

123 Harmony Mountain Ln, Boone, NC 28607, United States

”We had a fantastic time during our recent stay at this campground. The facility was exceptionally clean and well-maintained, and it was professionally managed by Christina, who was absolutely amazing to work with. Her knowledge of the area allowed her to offer numerous recommendations for restaurants, hiking trails, and local attractions during our visit. Her friendly and kind nature went above and beyond, making our experience even more enjoyable. We wholeheartedly recommend this campground and eagerly anticipate our next visit. Christina is truly the best and excels at her job!”

Leatherwood Mountains Cabin Rentals
4.7
( 8 reviews )

512 Meadow Rd, Ferguson, NC 28624, United States

”Scheduled some time with the family to go on a horseback ride. The guide was wonderful and great with the horses. The horses were very docile and easy to ride. A beautiful place tucked away between the mountains. Snow wasn’t in the forecast but it started snowing during our ride. What a great time!”

Grandfather Campground
4.2
( 16 reviews )
Open until 11:00 AM

125 Profile View Rd, Banner Elk, NC 28604, United States

”Beautiful campground, great view of the mountain. It has a kids jungle gym and sand pit next to the bath house. Good general store on sites. $7 a bundle of firewood. Centrally located to go to Boone or sugar mountain. Had a great time.”

Cataloochee Campground
4.8
( 8 reviews )

Cataloochee Entrance Rd, Waynesville, NC 28785, United States

”Overall this is an excellent campsite within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Campsites 1-17 are the best, 18 is okay, 19 is right next to the restrooms so you will be woken up by the parks cleaning crew everyday at 7am, campsites 20 and up are in the middle with #20 being the best of that bunch. There are at least two potable water stations, a dishwashing station, and flushing toilets. The Cataloochee river runs right next to the campground and it is gorgeous. Noteworthy, the drive in is narrow, gravel, and offers no protection in the form of guardrails. There is no dependable cellular service in the valley.”

Hatteras Sands Campground
4.3
( 16 reviews )
Close until 02:00 PM

57316 Eagle Pass Rd, Hatteras, NC 27943, United States

”We stayed at Hatteras Sands campground with our RV. The sites had oversized concrete pads, nice picnic tables and a very clean shower and bathroom area located in the middle of the camp ground. The pool was clean. The workers were very pleasant and accommodating. We had some issues with minor things that were taken care of promptly. The laundry facility was close to the pool so that you could do laundry and wait for you laundry to be finished by relaxing at the pool. The staff there were very friendly and personable. I would highly recommend this camp ground to friends and family. I will definitely be back to visit this area.”

Goose Creek Resort
4.2
( 8 reviews )

350 Red Barn Rd, Newport, NC 28570, United States

”If all waterfront sites had concrete pads, firepits and better cable tv access i would rate 5 stars. We really love the access to water for boating, closeness to Morehead City, Beaufort and surrounding areas.”

Hickory Nut Falls Family Campground
4.5
( 8 reviews )

639 Main St, Chimney Rock, NC 28720, United States

”Located just past the hubbub of Chimney Rock and Lake Lure, Hickory Nuts Falls is a great spot to call home for a weekend. We went in early November, so most of the Fall colors had made their appearance. This is a pretty small family-owned campground with pretty tightly packed spaces, but we never felt cramped because we got the back spot (the bear spot according to the owner). The road circling around to the backside spots is a little sketchy in spots, so if you've got a low car just...drive carefully. This place has got the feel of like...a time share for sheds. The covered camping platform was nice even if it was rickety and bared-wired. Great to have electricity for a few essentials, but you can still ignore all that and have a more primitive experience (and still have your tent covered from the worst of it). Just make sure you've got a good pad. If you're going full electric, bring a few cords and power strips so you can take advantage. They've got bathrooms, showers, and firewood on-site, so you'll be comfortable here for a whole weekend (or more). Staff (owner) was great, said they lived just down the road and could get in touch with them if we needed. I'll take a look next time I'm in the area - great value and experience just off the main drag.”

Campfire Lodgings
4.3
( 8 reviews )

116 Appalachian Village Rd, Asheville, NC 28804, United States

”This is our second time camping here. First time back in 2017. Both times, we got the same tent site, T7. We love it. T7 is secluded and out of the way from everything else. It’s like you have your own section of the grounds. It’s a short 60 second walk to the bathrooms and the overlook. The staff is friendly and the place is well kept. We will definitely be returning in the future.”
