“We are visiting the Asheville area from Ga and got a recommendation to eat here after asking for a good mom and pop place to eat. I am so glad we did. First Trex is an absolute star and provided the best customer service that we have had in a good while. I ordered the Brisket plate with sides of Mac &cheese and collard greens . I devoured it. (Didn’t get a before pic) . I’m super picky about my brisket and it was just fall apart, melt in your mouth deliciousness. My husband ordered the half chicken and he pretty much pick the bones clean. That alone speaks volumes. All the sides were delicious. They had 3 different sauces at the table and brought a white one out . So there should be something for everyone’s taste if ya try here! Learned today is their 7th year anniversary!!Happy anniversary I wish nothing but success and happiness to y’all!. We definitely will be stopping in again before we go back to Ga ❤️”

“Any time I'm in Clinton I always make an effort visit. I do recommend calling ahead and picking up your order especially during "peak" hours. They are known for having a long line which will take a while for them to work though. On-site parking is available, some behind the building. Also, a building beside the restaurant is available for customers to sit and eat. I ordered: - Small Fish Plate - Cole Slaw - Fries - Banana pudding - Drink (16 oz) My total came to $13.63. I was able to split this into two meals. The food ... no seasoning (not even salt) was on the fries. The fish by itself is bland as well - I usually hit it with some hot sauce/tarter sauce to spruce it up. The fish will have bones FYI. The coleslaw is finely chopped and juicy (which I like). But the banana pudding was a huge disappointment. It tasted like the store-bought banana jello mixture with cookies and bananas. I 100% expected this to be homemade. I've been coming to this restaurant since I was a little girl ALWAYS getting the small fish plate! I really wanted to give 4 starts - but the banana pudding took them down a notch! They definitely have stayed consistent with their food. Even though certain items needed some seasoning, I would still recommend this restaurant BUT NOT THE BANANA PUDDING.”

“This is my new favorite spot in Asheville! Mario is such a fantastic server. He is so friendly, kind, funny, and on point with his service. Our drinks were never empty and he even took his time to check in on our dog also. The patio was absolutely the perfect setting with a peaceful stream, playground for kids, and space heaters! The food was beyond flavorful. The garlic knots with pesto were top knotch and the marinara that it comes with was absolutely divine. If they bottled it I would buy it by the gallon. The mushroom pizza is heavenly and if I had to choose a last meal, that would be it! The chicken tenders and fries were pretty basic but my kiddo inhaled them with no complaints. With over 20 beers on tap they absolutely have something for everyone. I can't wait to come back!”

”We came during lunch to get a to go order. We didn't order ahead bit our food was still ready in a flash. We got onion rings and hush puppies for our sides with Chopped BBQ sandwiches. As I am picky about slaw I elected to get mine on the side, to my surprise I liked it. The BBQ taste great without any sauce on it, very flavorful. However they do offer one signature sauce which is very thin and soaks into the sandwich instead of making a big mess like some. I would prefer to have a couple of options for BBQ sauce but theirs was still good. Our food tasted phenomenal and we recommend giving it a try. In addition to the great food, the service was fast and friendly. We will be back!”

”Nice little French Restaurant in the heart of Durham. Reservations are recommended for this restaurant as it can be fairly busy. There is a parking garage across the street and street parking if you can find an available spot. My husband and I used to go to Rue Cler more frequently before Covid and loved the food and the atmosphere. In our first post Covid trip we were a bit disappointed with the food. They seemed to be doing a more Southern take on French cuisine as opposed to traditional French cuisine. We questioned the use of some controversial ingredients in otherwise nice dishes- like anchovies on a tomato salad. Still a nice /romantic/ evening out. Would recommend as a date location. Is a bit on the loud side for people with noise sensitivity.”

There were only 2 others tables while we were there and we were there for over an hr, but it is fall and there's not many tourist right now. The food was ok but I don't think it was worth the price the portion size was fine but the food was kind of bland, but the waiter said they had to cut back on alot of their spices bc the customers couldn't handle the heat so that probably has something to do with it. The jerk chicken wings we shared were the best part of the meal. Overall the place is very nicely decorated and the staff were friendly and attentive but the food was ok”

”Had a great burger, fries, and pint here. The burger was cooked perfectly to the temp I requested, the toppings were fresh and crisp, and the bun was out of this world--maybe a brioche bun? The fries were also terrific. Portions are generous and the entire meal was a bargain. The staff are friendly and experienced. At their recommendation we started the meal with a special app, the beef empanada which was outstanding. No overfried dough shell here: a light crispy shell surrounding well-spiced beef with a fantastic fresh tomato and onion salsa on the side. I suspect their specials are always a good choice, though I was craving a burger. Great meal and am excited to have such a good low key restaurant in my neighborhood.”
