“We were very excited to try the Blue Marlin from reviews we’ve seen. I have to mention our initial reaction was a little sketchy when we first entered and encountered the hostess. She looked at my family (including me, my wife & 2 adult daughters) and asked… “What can I do for you?” with an unwelcoming look on her face we interpreted to mean What are you people doing here? If we weren’t celebrating my wife’s birthday I probably would have left. She brought us to our table, literally threw the menus on the table and said someone would be with us. THANKFULLY, our server came and was super friendly. Everything else went well. The food was pretty good and seemed fresh. We also enjoyed the atmosphere. The only other slight disappointment, though not a big thing, was I mentioned my wife’s birthday to our server but no special recognition was afforded her. Would probably like to return and try it again.”

“First time here, it scored a solid 5 with great server, best ever veal chop marsala (incredibly sauce), and huge plate of crispy calamari without those annoying peppers. Second time, one of best ever lasagnas with bechamel but rest disappointing. Crab cakes worst. Mostly breading with no crab taste covered by non descript sauce. Probably out of frozen bag. Shrimp scampi had little if any garlic and was in another of those sauces. Veal Roberto was other main dish. Over breaded and too strong on Madeira. Server slow too. So the 4 is only from averaging with the first great dinner.”

”This was our first time at Fins & Tales. Decided to try it after reading some reviews. Glad we did! It is located in an older building with some beautiful wood work which adds to the ambiance. Started with the risotto cake, which my wife said it was the best she ever had. Our entrees were in-house made gnocchi and meatballs and parmigiana crusted haddock. Both were extremely good and the portions were spot on. Finished the dinner by sharing a brownie sundae that was to die for! One big highlight was the service and staff. Super friendly, informative and attentive! The prices were also very reasonable. We will be returning.”

”I came in here with 6 14-year-old girls; many places would have stuck us in a back corner, but not Waterfront Bar and Grill. The host immediately asked us if we would like to sit upstairs and he put us next to the window! Our waitress tended to our every need and desire and treated us exactly the way she would treat any other customers. I have a gluten allergy and she let me know that the fries are cooked in the same oil as everything else so I made sure to not get that as my side dish. The gluten-free roll was delicious! I highly recommend this place!”

”They had closed the patio because it rained. It would have been beautiful to sit out there and enjoy the Boston skyline with dinner. The service was good. The waiter even informed us that one of our dinners would take longer to cook. Something I've noticed post COVID is that a lot of restaurants have slimmed down the food options, which is good for overhead but it sucks for people who love food options like me. My only suggestion is if you don't like breaded food don't get the seafood. If they had described the food as breaded I would have skipped it. The drinks were on point. Overall a pleasant experience but not worth the $140 spent with bill and tip.”
