“This was the center of our trip. Everything else was planned around seeing this. Such a great tour and experience. All the ladies were so friendly and knowledgeable. Our guide, was exceptional. I wish I could remember all their names! It was for my daughter’s birthday. It was wonderful. The rest of Concord was gorgeous and full of more history. Definitely recommend!”

Count Orlok's Nightmare Gallery
4.6
( 8 reviews )

217 Essex St, Salem, MA 01970, United States

“Great wax museum inside the oldest bank building in Salem (1803), and they make use of the old vaults, so it's a unique setup. If you are a fan of horror films and their history, you'll like this place. There are placards throughout the gallery that provide a lot of little known facts/trivia about the actors and films throughout horror cinema history. No photos allowed in the gallery, just in the shop. Gift shop is small, but charming. My daughter and I really enjoyed it.”

Flying Horses Carousel A Vineyard Preservation Trust Property

( 16 reviews )

15 Lake Ave, Oak Bluffs, MA 02557, United States

“What a treat to experience the oldest platform carousel ride in America! Give little ones a heads up that the horses are stationary - unlike today’s amusement park horses. Plus, don’t miss out on the ring game. Try to win a free ride by grabbing a brass ring! This little gem of a spot is worth stopping by for family fun!”

Winnekenni Castle

( 16 reviews )

Castle Rd, Haverhill, MA 01830, United States

“The castle is not open to the public...the walking trails in the woods are very nice. The grounds are beautiful. Picnic tables, rest room, screened houses with picnic tables. Great shelters. Great place to visit..no cost!”

John F. Kennedy Memorial
4.7
( 8 reviews )

480 Ocean St, Hyannis, MA 02601, United States

“We came here at night. Parts of the area were well lit, but oddly enough ought not the memorial where there are things to read. So that was a little disappointing. Great view of the harbor. It is a short 5 minute walk from the Ocean Street docks. You ha e to cross the street at the docks for the sidewalk and then cross the street again to get to the memorial.”

Commonwealth Avenue Mall
4.7
( 10 reviews ) $$
Open until 11:30 PM

484 Commonwealth Ave, Boston, MA 02116, United States

”Nestled in between the Northbound and Southbound lanes of Comm Ave in Back Bay, the Comm Ave mall provides a wonderful park experience. Walk through the park and you get to observe some famous statues and art installations. Lots of benches …”

Lowell National Historical Park
4.6
( 8 reviews )
Open until 05:00 PM

246 Market St, Lowell, MA 01852, United States

”Parking at the visitors center seemed challenging when I arrived, I drove around and finally found some metered street parking. Apparently, they validate parking in a ramp behind the visitors center. There was also a large surface lot barricaded off for some reason. They offer a free walking tour of Suffolk Mill, a $12 canal tour, a free boarding house museum and $6 self guided tour of Books Mill. Trolleys run to the major sights. I struggled to get an overview of what "Lowell" was and the major sights. It would be nice if they developed a "What to see" in 2-3 hours, a half day and full day, recommendations like many of the National Parks have.”

Emily Dickinson Museum
4.8
( 16 reviews )

280 Main St, Amherst, MA 01002, United States

”We had an incredible time touring the Homestead and grounds. Our guide, Pete, asked what our interests were and tailored his tour to us. We loved learning about the architecture, family, and viewing props from the show. He was very knowledgeable about the provenance of items and the creation of the museum. We were also fortunate to attend a free panel that day which was part of the Tell It Slant poetry festival and featured the costume designer and actors who played Lavinia and Austin in the Apple show Dickinson. The museum is a wonderful steward of their historic homes and beautifully marry the history of the family with modern interests.”

Strand Theatre
4.3
( 8 reviews )

543 Columbia Rd, Boston, MA 02125, United States

”Loved this experience. Absolutely fantastic experience and a must see for anyone even if art isn’t your usual thing. Really well laid out experience set in the Strand Theatre with amazing visuals and sounds. Designed to be viewed standing, sitting or lying down while the art of Van Gogh just wraps around you from walls to floor. Great combination of visual arts immerse within technology. Definitely art could never feel more real! Definitely recommend.”

Athol Cinemas 8
4.2
( 8 reviews )

265 Reservoir Dr, Athol, MA 01331, United States

”The theater itself is great Awesome reclining chairs, clean and spacious. The concessions, however, are just super expensive and the fried food takes a while if you order it. I do understand that movie theaters mainly profit off their concessions though.”

”Absolutely stunning the second time we have come to the area and gone to the mansion. The art work displayed today was very nice some things for everyone, so I’m fine and some practical but a tour of the mansion is absolutely something to do if you were there for a weekend.”

Historic Deerfield
4.6
( 8 reviews )

80 Old Main St, Deerfield, MA 01342, United States

”There were so many old buildings, it was like walking through a time machine. Except for the modern cars. Those were new. But the buildings! They were great. The entire district is small enough to walk easily, although I prefer taking a stroll. Maybe even a saunter. The newest building was built in, I believe, the 1880s, with many being much older than that. Except the one with is a rebuild from the 1920s if the faded marker in front is to be believed. To go into some of the historic houses, you'll need to buy tickets at the museum. But be careful as some if the houses are privately owned and you don't want to walk in on them. Also there are a couple of schools who own some land. Overall it was a very nice experience. They I will do again.”

We highly recommend doing parties there, the set up and clean up was all taken cared of. I even forgot the candles and they were ready with everything! Thank you Launch Methuen and James for being a great host!”

Gallows Hill Museum/theatre
4.5
( 16 reviews )

7 Lynde St, Salem, MA 01970, United States

”This place was our first stop in Salem, just came across it. We did the tour and the show, it was so fun. Our guide seemed to really love his job, he was funny, engaging and stayed in character. The show was great! More fun than history but perfect for the setting. The costumes and actors were awesome. It was inexpensive and entertaining. If you are thinking of trying it, I say do it!”

Fort Warren

”Great visit but many parts of the fort are closed due to vandalism and safety issues. The park staff did a great job restoring what they could so far and keeping the visitors safe. There's a really great exhibit at the beginning with lots of great information.”

Cheapo Records
4.4
( 8 reviews )

538 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA 02139, United States

”Great, great experience. AWESOME soul section. Just AWESOME. Picked up three great ones for quite reasonable prices. Dude who runs this knows what he's doing. This was the third shop I visited while in Boston, and wow did three times ever turn out to be the charm ! (Also hit two other, er, not even close competitor shops... see my reviews for details) If you're from out of town and your time is limited (as mine was), this is your money spot. Great selection, wicked good store! Much respect! 😁”

Echo Bridge
4.8
( 10 reviews )

Newton, MA 02464, United States

”This is a hidden gem buried in the middle of Newton, MA. A must-see for those looking for sites off the beaten path. There is no great parking next to the bridge, so plan on parking up the street a ways off. There is a path running along …”
