“On Monday Dec. 18 we lost power at 10:30am. It wasn’t that cold yet so we spent the nite at home. On Tuesday it started to get colder at night so I called the Hampton Inn/ Franklin. I talked to a very rude person called Michael asked him how much an overnight stay was. He said it was $169 at the moment. He said he had availability. We got some belongings together and a half hour later showed up at the hotel. Michael was at the desk. He asked my last name, I told him, he said I don’t see your name on the reservation list. I told him he didn’t ask my name when I called. He said I hung up on him before he asked my name. Why in the world would I hang up being so desperate for a good nights sleep. He said he has a room at $198. What a con artist. He wouldn’t honor the $169 price he quoted me on the phone. I told him forget it and left. That place was horrible. It smelled awful walking in the door. We finally found a room in the Hilton in Dedham. They were so pleasant. Unlike Hampton/Franklin hotel.”

“I have been coming here for many years. You can not beat the view and location. The hotel is located right on Long Beach. The prices are very fair for the view plus the rooms. I would avoid the kitchen rooms because they are cramped and the beds are super uncomfortable. They have wheels meaning any time you move the entire bed does too. But the other rooms are good and well decorated. I have found some small stains but the staff will gladly give you a new sheets or towels. Although they aren’t fancy, each room has a balcony so you can view the ocean. I do recommend coming here if you want to have easy access to the beach and enjoy the view. They serve breakfast in the morning, coffee and donuts. They got rid of the danishes.”

“My husband and I got married in the harbor room this past October and it was truly the best choice we ever could’ve made! From our first visit to the Wychmere we were in love. The staff is so accommodating, the views are incredible and they are so good at what they do. Lindsay was our wedding coordinator and I can’t say enough about her. Lindsay was kind, professional and supportive. She gave me great advice and helped me make any decisions I struggled with. We were struggling with a scary illness in the family leading up to the wedding and Lindsay was so patient and flexible with me if I took longer to respond or had to reschedule an appointment last minute. Day of, Lindsay was there every step of the way, but we also had Janet there to help us as well. Between the two of these ladies, there was constantly someone in eyesight if we had any questions or needed anything. They kept us comfortable and on schedule, we felt so special. We were able to drop off all of our decor, signs, candles, vases etc the day before and could trust that everything would be exactly as we had planned. We were lucky enough to have amazing weather, the ceremony was on the lawn and everything was so beautifully arranged. The staff had trays of beer, champagne and signature cocktails ready to go for our guests so there was no waiting around or long bar lines. The food was incredible, our family and friends still rave about the lamb lollipops. The short rib was literally the best I’ve ever had. At the end of the night, staff quietly packed up all of our belongings into the family's cars while we got to enjoy ourselves. I know it is a privilege to be able to get married somewhere like the Wychmere, but I will say that it is worth every penny. You truly do get what you pay for and if you’re on the fence, just go for it— you won’t regret it!”

”The Hampton Inn itself is a little on the run down side. The bathroom was peeling and mold was growing. The carpets held stains in them and while it is pet friendly and some stains are to be expected there was an awful lot. There were no cameras in the stairwell for safety. The lobby smelt strongly of cigarette smoke at times as well. However , on the flip side the staff was absolutely incredible!! They were nice and attentive and genuinely seemed to care about us and our stay. These workers were some of the best I have ever encountered and definitely made the hotel worth coming back too.”

”My stay at edgewater was pleasant. The bed was comfortable, the rooms were clean and the employees were nice and helpful. I stayed with my mom and sister and it was a little small. We had a hard time adjusting the temp and it was very hot in our room. So we had to open the patio door to cool the place down. Also, there was a pull out sofa bed that was extremely uncomfortable. Other than that it was nice. The indoor pool was open and was nice to swim in.”

”A nice spot to relax, play lawn games and grab a quick dinner The lawn furniture, however, always seem to be taken, and the shades don't really protect from the sun. The food is ok, with a captive audience they don't have to try that hard. Hungry guests will still pay for it rather than go out. The staff is kind and works hard.”

”OMG! This was the worst experience my wife and I EVER had with customer service and property. Firstly, upon driving into the establishment it looked like a set from a horror movie! We still went inside because you can't judge a book by the cover. Immediately I knew from the demeanor of the desk clerk (aka the owner) this was not going to be pleasant. The attitude was horrendous! We accepted it, maybe he was having a bad day. We checked in, hit the key and headed to the room. Upon entering the room we knew right away it wasn't the room we booked on Expedia! It was smaller, missing furniture the photos showed and was run down nasty. Headed back to the front desk with the key in hand and demanded the room we paid for... Mister Front Desk (aka the owner) says this is all we have left! I said it's not the room we booked! He turned and said "oh well, it's all we have left". Now we are getting upset. He had no care in the world about our feelings about the room. I said to him you are a bad business manager and he replied "yup"!! Now I'm really furious and demand a refund. He was so happy to shrug us off because all his units were rentals!! The place is a rental complex! I'm guessing it's section 8 people and locals living there. This place is ridiculous and should not be labeled a hotel. It's an apartment complex! DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT BOOKING HERE!!! PLEASE. I never in my life wanted to hit a person so bad before until I met this owner. STAY AWAY!!!”
