“I have been going to Amarals for almost 30 years. Since I was born my grandfather and my family have been shopping here. I remember when my grandfather was alive he took me to the opposite side of the street probably 25 years ago when he was here for toressmos. Amazing prices. I always try to come down from Warwick, RI for the last three years since I moved at least once a month I come by. I'll buy a lot and freeze it. There is not a lot of Portuguese stuff up in Conimicut area of Warwick RI. The family and staff of market are all friendly. It's worth the ride even in Washington Bridge traffic.”

”I've never been much of a Stop & Shop person. Big Y is my grocery store, for the most part. Whit that said, I do, occasionally, enjoy shopping here. They have some items that Big Y just doesn't have. As of writing this (02/14/23) they are completely re-doing/renovating the entire store. So it's a bit of a mess! But they are working there hardest and doing there best to get it done quickly, safely and nicely. Hopefully they aren't working there employees too hard though. I can see that happening.”

Yesterday the issue was a canned product—a Rao spaghetti sauce that I’d purchased just the day before—whose lid was not under pressure. I returned it intact and asked for a refund ($9.99) or exchange. They refused as I couldn’t present a receipt. I suppose the implication is that customers are trying to commit fraud… But, really, $10?! I must be spending close to $3-400 in there a week. Is that really a smart business decision on their part? It’s not as if we don’t have a couple of other nearby options.”
