“This place has a lot of special and sentimental value to my family, as we have been going for more than 20 years. Staying at the Grand Hotel can be a fun thing to do once, but we come back to Harbour View because the staff are fantastic, it's never overpriced, and we always find the accommodations to be great. You are so close to town, but on the edge just enough to feel out of the craziness in the summer. We have also really enjoyed renting our bikes directly through Harbour View! They have really competitive rates and it makes life a lot easier. I have gone here on a couples trip and also with my family and I have always been happy with Harbour View.”

As a lover of both historic homes, and upscale hotel stays, the Kalamazoo House checked all the boxes. The owners are warm and kind. It’s easy to see that they genuinely love what they do, and it’s shown in the way they run their lovely Inn. The breakfast was absolutely phenomenal. Amy’s culinary expertise is certainly noticed! After breakfast, I enjoyed some snuggles with Kallie, the most precious pup / Inn mascot! Before we left, Jeff was happy to give us recommendations on fun local places to visit. We arrived after dinner time so we planned ahead since we knew their restaurant wasn’t open the night we were there so we had dinner at a larger town on our way there. ”I can’t give enough praises for Hotel Walloon. Truly my favorite getaway and if I could go back every quarter I would! The cost per night can be pricey, but it is worth every penny because of the amount of care and work they put into making it the best experience possible. Walking into the hotel it doesn’t feel like a hotel, but like walking into a friend’s house. With the welcome glass of wine, to the warm fire going next to the bar and the coziest of chairs. The little snacks they have all day with amazing coffee and tea selections. And then each and every room is crafted with the most wonderful details that just add to the cozy vibes. Blankets to snuggle, water bottles in the fridge that can be refilled, heated bathroom floors, binoculars to view the lake, even a wireless charger on the night stand so I don’t have to remember my own! Their turn down service provides the extra touch of joy and comfort, with little touches that make every evening an event to look forward to. Every time I go there is something new, some little touch that makes the experience better, when I didn’t think it could get better! I think it all comes down to the staff who I feel like truly love their jobs. They get sparks of joy in their eyes when they make their customers smile and want each and every guest to feel the most comfortable and happy possible. Time before last I asked for oat milk for my coffee, this last time I was there they left a note saying they remembered I prefer oatmilk and prepared some in my room’s fridge so I could have it any time. That little gesture remembering such a small preference meant the world to me. I cannot recommend Hotel Walloon enough. You will not be disappointed, they make it their goal to make sure you walk away as happy as possible.”

There might as well be no fitness center as it was seriously lacking In amenities and space to move. In visiting some of the areas 2 star hotels they smelled better, were newer or updated, and had better amenities. I expect more from Hilton.”

”My sisters and I loved our stay and were surprised that our favorite part was actually the breakfast! Our room was clean and warm (we visited in December when it was freezing outside) but the most unique experience was the food. In the dining room there is a row of fridges that have a huge variety of individual portions of unique foods and toppings. You simply grab a bunch of little jars with the things you want and then build your breakfast. There is fresh baked bread every morning that you can add things like chipotle chicken, duck eggs, smoked ham, pickled onions, or sweet things like handmade fruit whipped cream or fresh jams to. It made the breakfast delicious but also a lot of fun. There was also great coffee and tea and even a soda stream that you could mix your own unique soda flavors with. We really loved our stay and would definitely come again!”

”After 4 nights in a faded glory, traditional old hotel in Chicago, coming to the GR Downtown Canopy was like a breath of fresh air for us two Brits visiting from London. We knew we had made a good decision the moment we walked in. As seniors we are probably older than the demographic that Hilton is aiming for with the Canopy concept, but it certainly works for us. All the staff are friendly and super helpful and the room was light, clean and modern. The technology features are just on the right side of not being over-the-top. We enjoyed both the breakfast room (Portico) and the rooftop bar which was great for evening snacks and drinks. The restaurant 123 right next door was also very convenient. Were there some minor niggles? Yes, of course. That's life. But after 5 nights we were sad to leave what had become our temporary home in GR. If you're planning to stay in GR, give this hotel a chance. You'll be pleased you did.”

They have a very affordable suite that's perfect for our family of 6 with two separate rooms to provide a place for the parents to hang out and watch TV after the kids go to bed. The grounds have a fire tower, play set, horseshoes, fire pit, old boat to play on, and plenty of space to explore and play in. The rooms and building are in great shape with cute finishes. The owners are laid back, friendly, and helpful. The welcoming committee, a chocolate lab and yellow lab, are so friendly and great with kids. They'll even go into your room! We had a great time at the Clarke Motel and will definitely stay there again.”
