“Love this place, especially during the off season. Summertime you have to reserve early and its a little bit pricier. BUT OFF SEASON, this place is AMAZING!!! Prices are cheaper and the rooms are STUNNING. (Even the motel ones). Our stay this time was in the luxury suite which included a fireplace, a bath tub, and a full kitchen. Everything was cleaned and fully stocked when we arrived. Staff is friendly and helpful. I didn't get pictures from my last stay at the motel but it's clean and a great place to stay too. I RECOMMEND this place to everyone looking at this review.”

”This was a nightmare from the moment it was booked! Spoke with a manager who approved having my daughter’s 7th birthday there but had to book a one bedroom suite because all of the meeting rooms were already reserved for that day. The one bedroom suite was pricey but booked anyway so my daughter could have a pool to swim in. A person from the hotel knocked on the door stating we couldn’t have a gathering (of just a few people). This man was not a manager & was not wearing a name tag. Explained the situation to him, but he knew nothing of what a manager had told me. Said we had thirty minutes & he would be back. This guy came back about an hour later, admitted it was quiet as people had left. Thought the issue was resolved. Later in the evening, I went downstairs & spoke to the guy again, who stated he had charged my credit card another $400! Unbelievable! I will be taking this up with higher management. This whole incident ruined my daughter’s 7th birthday! As far as the one bedroom suite went……needs updating desperately! Couch was sagging & crooked, toilet paper holder in the bathroom was broken on the wall & the carpet was dirty. THIS HOTEL COULD DO SO MUCH BETTER IF SOMEBODY CARED! This hotel needs new management! Will never stay here again! I will take my business elsewhere!”

”Great location but disappointed with the stay. The room shower was awful! Like the worst hotel shower I’ve ever seen. I’m not sure if I had a bad room or if that is normal. No water pressure and room temperature water. Also, disappointed in the selection of vending or snacks. No vending and any candy they had was chocolate. As someone is allergic to milk, we had to get back out to get some snacks. Not the end of the world but definitely an inconvenience.”

”This was a very nice hotel with clean comfortable rooms. I was surprised by how much room we had- it was 2 queen beds and a couch area. I did not hear any road noise even though we were facing the main road and I could not hear noise from any other rooms. Parking is convenient behind the building or in a ramp behind the building. There was a play park behind the parking ramp which worked great for my two grandchildren and many places to eat and get ice cream within walking distance. The staff was very helpful at recommending places to take my grandkids and the continental breakfast was the best I've seen. Great job Hyatt!”

”Great, clean, and elevated Residence Inn hotel! I had a gathering downtown so friends and I rented two suites - they were top notch, clean, full refrigerators, and very spacious! It was comfortable for hanging out and catching up in the suite with friends before we went to our event. The desk staff were very polite and accomodating, and when the person checking us in wasn't sure about something, another person was nearby to confirm and expedite our check-in process. I also love the wheel of savings - we won free overnight parking! We had their usual warm free breakfast the next morning; it is packed, but it was good and we were still able to get a table and feel like we could continue to catch up with coffee and not feel rushed. They even gave us an extended check-out time. The view was beautiful and the hotel was very convenient for walking around downtown. The staff were warm and welcoming.”

”This morning we discovered our toilet was not working properly. My man called down for a plunger and Amber told him they didn’t have one in the room she’d send up maintenance. 30 min go by. Nothing. So I call down to see about a working bathroom that I paid for. And asked if I can get some credit back since my potty don’t work. Amber said “I’m sorry you plugged the toilet”. Like what wait. Excuse me. I didn’t do a damn thing. So I went down stairs really upset. I wanna know who’s so rude and for why. As I waited in the lobby for my daughter to bring me my work bag, it became more n more clear this lady is rude to everyone she’s in contact with. She was rude to a lady who didn’t extent her stay the right way. She was rude to a person checking out in a wheel chair. So when my daughter showed up I asked for her boss. She was the manager. How trashy the AMBER was with her customer service skills. Big fat ZERO I’ll NEVER stay here again. $130 for disrespectful management and can’t even use the bathroom. Screw you AMBER for being rude to so many people first thing on a Saturday morning.”

”This is by far one of the best hotels I have been to especially at an affordable price. This hotel does offer free breakfast from 7-10am. Their pool was nice and clean and closes at 11pm it was a strong chlorine and bleach smell while sitting in the pool area my kids swam I did not. There is also a beautiful lounge area outside with chairs a mini fire place table 2 grills you are able to utilize. 24hr gym, 24 hours business center, also 24hr laundry area. A huge dining room beside the lobby you can use. Parking is not a problem at all I love that they also have in the room a card holder you have to put your card in to turn the power on in your room. A door bell is on each of the rooms very thick door I couldn't hear anyone beside me. Full kitchen with a stove top, sink, dish washer, Frigidaire,dishes etc. I had one room at this hotel for sure It feels more like a one bedroom apartment. The beds are separate from the living room section which I love even more. They were a little stingy with towels I always bring my own everything anyway. Book the room it is well worth it not to mention they have a pull out couch if you are short on money this room will easily and comfortably sleep 8 adults it does only have 1 bathroom bring you some groceries and enjoy your stay. ”After 4 nights in a faded glory, traditional old hotel in Chicago, coming to the GR Downtown Canopy was like a breath of fresh air for us two Brits visiting from London. We knew we had made a good decision the moment we walked in. As seniors we are probably older than the demographic that Hilton is aiming for with the Canopy concept, but it certainly works for us. All the staff are friendly and super helpful and the room was light, clean and modern. The technology features are just on the right side of not being over-the-top. We enjoyed both the breakfast room (Portico) and the rooftop bar which was great for evening snacks and drinks. The restaurant 123 right next door was also very convenient. Were there some minor niggles? Yes, of course. That's life. But after 5 nights we were sad to leave what had become our temporary home in GR. If you're planning to stay in GR, give this hotel a chance. You'll be pleased you did.”

Please live nearby better hotels you can get at the same price. Also, this is definitely not a kids (No way) friendly hotel. To answer to your reply: When a front desk lady doesn't care and do her own stuff and keep someone waiting, when she is clearly seeing a baby (9 months) is crying loudly, I have no interest to talk/discuss/go close to that hotel anymore. Also, please in addition to renovate the hotel, "renovate" the front desk people. Thank you.”

”Update: Stayed here recently and had more of a 3 or 4 star experience. This time around the room wasn’t as clean (and I saw multiple spiders and cobwebs). The power went out and when we called the front desk they asked us to find and deal with the fuse box ourselves, and after that didn’t work, they finally sent someone to look at it (turned out it needed to be fixed on their end, outside of our room). I did use the gym this time and it was clean and had everything I need for a workout. 5 stars there. What would’ve made it an overall 5 star experience? Clean up the cobwebs and perhaps if a guest’s power goes out in the room, at least offer to send someone to fix it from the get go. 5 months prior (5 star experience) I've stayed here on two different occasions and both were great experiences! The rooms were clean and it's a pleasant property. If it's crowded parking can be a little bit of a challenge (there was a nearby lot we were able to park in) One of the rooms had a broken towel hanger in the bathroom. Still, overall, great stay!”
