“One of my favorite restaurants in Macomb County! Shawn, the owner & chef, is a culinary wizard and has a created a menu that will WOW your tastebuds. Not only do you come for the food, but their caring staff treats all guests like family. Shawn and his team are so hardworking and there’s a reason his restaurant is a huge staple. He chatted with me for a while, as we’re both from Canada, and told me about his travel stories that inspired him to open Regale. This is definitely not one of those places where you go with a plan of what ‘type’ of food you will order. You just have to trust the process of trying/sharing a variety of small plates of several cultural flavor profiles… and you will NOT be disappointed. 😍 The green beans and won ton tuna tacos are an absolute must every time for me. The octopus was AMAZING, and for my first time ever trying it? I couldn’t believe the buttery (not rubbery) texture it had! We also tried the burger and chicken fried lobster which were fantastic and flavorful. If you know me, you know I’m ending with dessert, which is one of my favorite parts here. The butter tart is the closest I’ve ever had to a Canadian butter tart. 😍🤤 Definitely feel a piece of ‘home’ in every bite. They recently have done an expansion with a modern, yet rustic feel and it is gorgeous inside!”

It may be a bit pricer than it’s competitors, but I’d say the extra cost is worth it. Orange chicken is usually my go-to at Chinese restaurants, and First Wok does it well. The lunch specials are a pretty good value in my opinion. The service has been reasonably efficient and has been friendly.”

”Food: you have Chinese-American restaurants in every town, but you rarely have really good ones. Gaslight is one of the really good ones. The dumplings were not only great, but seem like such a rarity these days. Orange chicken came recommended so we gave that a try along with tofi vegetable stir fry. Not disappointed, orange sauce was amazing with a very deep citrus flavor and even little bits of peel in it was almost like candy. Vegetables in the stir fry were perfectly cooked, still having some crunchiness and not the typical mush. Service was very good, but a little odd for dining in. They gave us menus, let us pick our seats, but then had us come up to the bar to order. We later found out it was due to a constant lack of staff. Everyone was very nice, food came out fairly quickly with a perfect pause between our appetizers and mains. The inside is a little sparse. Straight back wooden chairs. Once people started filling the place it got a bit loud.”

The food was very good and packed with flavor. The crab rangoons were really good, and whatever the clear dipping sauce was was really good as well. We both had Pad Thai as our meal. I went for the peanut pad Thai with chicken and you can choose your spice level (1-10). I chose a 7 and it was PERFECT. He offered to bring more spice to the table also, but it really was perfect. We will definitely be returning. This place is seriously a hidden gem and more people should give them a shot. 10/10.”
