Waldenwoods Resort & Conference Center

“We love camping and visiting Waldenwoods. They have the "Up North" feel, but still close to home. When family comes to town to visit there is always so much to do. We enjoy the weekend activities in the Summer. We also enjoy walking the trail with our dog. I recommend checking it out and considering membership for you and your family.”

Traverse City Koa Holiday

9700 M-37, Buckley, MI 49620, United States

“Very nice campground. It's nice and quiet at night; I didn't hear any road noise. The grounds were well kept. The camp store was well outfitted. It's close to Buckley, so it's a good spot to stay if you're going to the engine show. It's about 15 miles from Traverse City, which is far enough away to be out of the hub bub of that town.”

“The campground is nice overall. The bathrooms are clean and well maintained. There’s plenty of fun activities for the kids. We really enjoyed the tie dyeing, the jumping pillow/big playground, gem mining, waking up/bedtime with the bears, and the cartoons at night. There are free activities but it can get pricey if you do every activity or have multiple kids. $10 per person for visiting is expensive, per car would be more reasonable. The glow dance Saturday night was AWESOME! That was the highlight of the trip for me!”

“This is our fourth year camping at Kibby Creek and every year it's always the best experience! The staff are friendly and helpful, the sites are large and well placed. Bathrooms are cleaned and the crew takes pride in their facilities. The Barn has been a fabulous addition and there are plenty of things to do in and around the area. We've already made reservations for next year!”

“This campground totally surprised me. It's in middle of nowhere. They have 200 site, heated pool. Bathrooms with shower and lots of things to do. We went on one the Halloween days it was fantastic. It was during the daylight the kids and many of the parents dressed up. We had lots of fun the best Halloween we have ever celebrated .”

”100% recommend, and we will be back. We stayed in a cabin. It was so cute, comfy, and CLEAN. Like really really clean!!! Hottest showers at the bath house even after lots of people showering hours prior to my shower. Wonderful home cooked food at the cafe. Beautiful immaculate kept grounds! Located right on the paved bike trail. I’m not sure you can get any better than this place in this whole area, we just loved it!! Thank you for the wonderful experience :)”

”We traveled from Ohio and it did not disappoint! The sites we pretty roomy for a KOA and we backed up right to the blueberry patch. The pool and splash pad were a huge plus for us with a 4 year old. Our dogs loved the being able to roam in the dog park without a leash. Staff was great! We had planned a beach day and didn’t have a way to inflate our tube, one of the workers there provided a portable compressor for us to use! Was well worth the 4+ our drive, especially with the friendly staff! Thank you for a great stay!”

”Since they won’t let me respond to my review on trip advisor, I’ll respond here. Read the recent reviews here and on Trip Advisor. We will NEVER stay here again. Be aware of this place!! I refuse to give them a compliment of any sort at this point. Usually, I only leave positive posts because we rely on them. I read negative reviews with a grain of salt. After reading all the negatives, management’s jaded responses, and having a similar experience, we felt compelled to leave a host of negative reviews. DO NOT GO HERE! They have taken dig after dig on recent reviews and reviewers. There is a reason. How often have you seen that many negative reviews in a row on Trip Advisor. Check out their recent reviews. Their customer service and social media presence is absolute trash. DON’T STAY HERE! We are normally good with paying a higher price for their amenities and park. It simply isn’t worth it with the poor customer service they have running this operation. AVOID!!!!!!! ****EDIT*** I read more recent reviews and so many people agree. This is the worst customer service we have EVER received at a campground in over 25 years of camping. They deserve what they get. Oh please, review our review so people can see your customer service is beyond awful.”

”LADIES THIS IS NOT FOR YOU!! People who enjoy sleep. This is not for you. My wife and I just wanted a place to set up a tent and this place happened to be LGBT friendly so we were all about it. We saw that there were various events throughout the weekend but we weren't super interested in socializing as we had other plans in town. We picked a camping spot with an electric outlet but the outlet was 3 sites down. Not sure why we were charged extra for that. The campgrounds: really rough. It smelled like a barn on Saturday morning. Literally smelled like poop! I felt so gross and couldn't wait to shower. But the showers are gross too. Everything is so expensive. Sleep: I was so tired Friday night and wasn't expecting our campsite to be the corner of all the chaos. Someone peed in front of our tent. People drinking and driving golf carts until the wee hours of the morning. Parties until the morning. We asked to be put in the back camping site and the put us right up front. We had to grab our things and drive to a rest stop to sleep for the night because we were SO UNCOMFORTABLE. And it was insanely loud. This is more for gay men than "lgbtq+" We unfortunately had to return in the morning to tear down the tent and we just threw it in the garbage because it was so gross. Couldn't get home fast enough”

”we enjoyed our stay. The shallow water at the lake was perfect for the kids to play and kayak. The staff was super nice and the laundry room was great. The showers could use an upgrade, since you have to constantly press a button to turn on the water without being able to keep it on. Everything else was great!”

Frankenmuth Jellystone Park Camp Resort

”This would be a full 5-star review except the showers in the middle of the campground are a bit out of date. Upgrade that shower space and 5 stars!! Love and highly recommend the Halloween camping weekends. Activities for the kids, an opportunity to get creative with decorations on the camper, fun, friendly, family-oriented. Amazing staff and Yogi, I mean, Yogi and BooBoo, right!?!”

Emmett Koa Holiday

”We camp all over michigan at various parks, but every year we return at least twice! The owners are great, they really care about their visitors, and the atmosphere is what camping is about! The kids love the weekend activities but it's not too much where parents can't relax -like other campgrounds we've been too. We can't wait to return and highly recommend others check the campground out!”

”We had an absolute blast here as a great end of summer experience before school starts. Amazing weekend programming with kind and helpful staff. Lots to do for kids of all ages including a beautiful trail that goes around the lake. We stayed in one of the rustic cabins and it was sooooo nice - even had air conditioning! My parents brought their RV and were on a full hook-up lakeside spot. Just fantastic. Gorgeous sunsets. Great community. We are already planning a longer stay for next year!!”

Clarke Motel

”We loved our stay at the Clarke Motel! They have a very affordable suite that's perfect for our family of 6 with two separate rooms to provide a place for the parents to hang out and watch TV after the kids go to bed. The grounds have a fire tower, play set, horseshoes, fire pit, old boat to play on, and plenty of space to explore and play in. The rooms and building are in great shape with cute finishes. The owners are laid back, friendly, and helpful. The welcoming committee, a chocolate lab and yellow lab, are so friendly and great with kids. They'll even go into your room! We had a great time at the Clarke Motel and will definitely stay there again.”

”Awesome place for a stay . This is a great little park. Very clean and we'll taken care of. The bathrooms are spotless. They are pet friendly, even providing poop bags and pet stations. This place is Rich with history,as it was at one time a part of the house of David. I believe it was a one point an amusement park there are some really cool miniauture trains and a cool track set up . Also there is a beautiful outdoor garden and theater. For being close to shopping, the beach and interstate it's very quiet. I hope this helps.”
