“Actually wish I could give an extra star. Of all the dog friendly hotels and there are not that many, this is one of the most well kept properties. Please know that when booking especially if not traveling with a pet. We have stayed at almost all of the pet friendly hotels, this exceeds are expectations. And we are both health care providers. Additionally, yes all places will be over priced during peak tourist travel times in Traverse City. It’s dynamic pricing which you may appreciate if you are the traveler and owner of rentals or vacation rentals. So, expect it to be high in the summer like all places. Expect this to be pet friendly and truly pet friendly. Staff are AMAZING and so welcoming. I stay for business and some days need to leave at 5a and Scott tries his best to get some basic simple things out for me to grab and go. Thank you Christy Tricia Scott Shelia and Val! Staying at the Grand Hotel can be a fun thing to do once, but we come back to Harbour View because the staff are fantastic, it's never overpriced, and we always find the accommodations to be great. You are so close to town, but on the edge just enough to feel out of the craziness in the summer. We have also really enjoyed renting our bikes directly through Harbour View! As a lover of both historic homes, and upscale hotel stays, the Kalamazoo House checked all the boxes. The owners are warm and kind. It’s easy to see that they genuinely love what they do, and it’s shown in the way they run their lovely Inn. The breakfast was absolutely phenomenal. Amy’s culinary expertise is certainly noticed! ”Stayed the night December 1, 2023. Front desk staff were generally not pleasant and one had a constant guest all evening. We found straight, medium length black hair in our bed. Mattress was very hard and was about 6 inches from the wall so pillows were always sinking into the crevice. TV shut itself off with a timer and it could not be stopped. Bathroom was dirty. The bag that we assumed held a hair dryer was covered in dust. Dust bunnies were covering the floor under the bathroom sink. I'm not sure who would actually use large bottles of shampoo, conditioner and lotion that were attached to the walls. That is kind of creepy. Who knows what someone has put in those bottles....spit, semen, urine (people are that nasty). We paid $2 for a bag of popcorn to microwave in our room. The microwave sounded like a plane trying to take off. Refrigerator ran most of the night. Bathroom door sounded like a banshee when opening and closing. Closet door was stuck on the right side. Needless to say neither one of us slept and we left early in the morning (definitely not paying $16 for breakfast after all that). We paid over $130 for a room that should've cost a maximum of $30. Very disappointed in Hilton.”

”This was a nightmare from the moment it was booked! Spoke with a manager who approved having my daughter’s 7th birthday there but had to book a one bedroom suite because all of the meeting rooms were already reserved for that day. The one bedroom suite was pricey but booked anyway so my daughter could have a pool to swim in. A person from the hotel knocked on the door stating we couldn’t have a gathering (of just a few people). This man was not a manager & was not wearing a name tag. Explained the situation to him, but he knew nothing of what a manager had told me. Said we had thirty minutes & he would be back. This guy came back about an hour later, admitted it was quiet as people had left. Thought the issue was resolved. Later in the evening, I went downstairs & spoke to the guy again, who stated he had charged my credit card another $400! Unbelievable! I will be taking this up with higher management. This whole incident ruined my daughter’s 7th birthday! As far as the one bedroom suite went……needs updating desperately! Couch was sagging & crooked, toilet paper holder in the bathroom was broken on the wall & the carpet was dirty. THIS HOTEL COULD DO SO MUCH BETTER IF SOMEBODY CARED! This hotel needs new management! Will never stay here again! I will take my business elsewhere!”
