“We stayed for 2 nights and was really impressed by this hotel. It's massive. Definitely kid-friendly. The beds were too stiff/firm for my liking and the firm pillows too soft/flat. The hotel is either new, or recently renovated. The room was extremely clean with the exception of one pillow, there was blood on the corner of the pillow slip. The arcade and pool area is really nice. We didn't eat at the restaurant, but got drinks, they were expensive. The breakfast is average and well- stocked/maintained. Elevators are extremely slow.”

“Actually wish I could give an extra star. Of all the dog friendly hotels and there are not that many, this is one of the most well kept properties. Please know that when booking especially if not traveling with a pet. We have stayed at almost all of the pet friendly hotels, this exceeds are expectations. And we are both health care providers. Additionally, yes all places will be over priced during peak tourist travel times in Traverse City. It’s dynamic pricing which you may appreciate if you are the traveler and owner of rentals or vacation rentals. So, expect it to be high in the summer like all places. Expect this to be pet friendly and truly pet friendly. Staff are AMAZING and so welcoming. I stay for business and some days need to leave at 5a and Scott tries his best to get some basic simple things out for me to grab and go. Thank you Christy Tricia Scott Shelia and Val! It was conveniently located right across from the elevator. The bathroom was very large and a large walk in shower. There was a microwave and refrigerator. Did not use but the pool and whirlpool were a good size and I was sorry I did not bring a bathing suit. The exercise room was well equipped. The breakfast was with the typical items and was kept well stocked by staff. We got a super good rate but acknowledge it was probably due to being off peak. Regardless I would stay here again the next time we take s trip to Sauté St Marie.”

Staying at the Grand Hotel can be a fun thing to do once, but we come back to Harbour View because the staff are fantastic, it's never overpriced, and we always find the accommodations to be great. You are so close to town, but on the edge just enough to feel out of the craziness in the summer. We have also really enjoyed renting our bikes directly through Harbour View! They have really competitive rates and it makes life a lot easier. I have gone here on a couples trip and also with my family and I have always been happy with Harbour View.”

”I would absolutely not recommend this hotel. The room was wonderful. The service however was awful. Me and my friend got a room for two nights on our last night the guest next to us were being very loud. There was a man knocking on our door for more than 10 minutes and would not tell us Who he was. He said that we have more less than two minutes to get our belongings and get out of the hotel before he calls the police. We asked who he was since he was in his pajamas. He said he was the owner. We asked for employment ID he refused to give it to us. we explained to him that it was not us being loud. It is the people next-door it was 1:20 in the morning and he kicked us out of the hotel after repeatedly telling him that we were sleep it was the guest next-door. When I called downstairs to make sure that he was the actual owner and not a guest playing a prank. He came back to our room, kicked the door and said how dare you question who I am get out of my hotel room. Then pushed past us walked in our room and started to pack our things. When I told him do not touch our belongings, he said he owns everything and everyone in the hotel room. When I thought this couldn’t get any worse while we were waiting in the lobby for a ride, he was kicking out three more guest that had been to be African-American. I would not recommend this hotel if you care about your safety.”

”My husband and I couldn’t have enjoyed our stay at Jeff and Amy’s beautiful bed and breakfast any more. We stayed in the Detroit room, and it was absolute perfection. As a lover of both historic homes, and upscale hotel stays, the Kalamazoo House checked all the boxes. The owners are warm and kind. It’s easy to see that they genuinely love what they do, and it’s shown in the way they run their lovely Inn. The breakfast was absolutely phenomenal. Amy’s culinary expertise is certainly noticed! After breakfast, I enjoyed some snuggles with Kallie, the most precious pup / Inn mascot! Before we left, Jeff was happy to give us recommendations on fun local places to visit. We came to town for a show at the State Theater, but we’ll be returning for another stay at The Kalamazoo House.”

”Love this place, especially during the off season. Summertime you have to reserve early and its a little bit pricier. BUT OFF SEASON, this place is AMAZING!!! Prices are cheaper and the rooms are STUNNING. (Even the motel ones). Our stay this time was in the luxury suite which included a fireplace, a bath tub, and a full kitchen. Everything was cleaned and fully stocked when we arrived. Staff is friendly and helpful. I didn't get pictures from my last stay at the motel but it's clean and a great place to stay too. I RECOMMEND this place to everyone looking at this review.”
