Initially I was disappointed with having to go up to collect your own meals rather than a restaurant set up but the rest of the hotel makes up for that and the food was great anyway so I'll be fine to do that next time!”

“I would have loved to have given this place more as it has such potential however there were a few negatives. Coolendel is a sweeping, gorgeous property with plenty of room. Want to camp near others? Can do! Want to be away from people? Also got you covered. There is no phone reception so you're totally off the grid. The wildlife is another plus. The amenities were bad even though the staff was there to clean it as many times as possible. Next was the road, be careful driving along here. Pot holes galore and not the safest of roads. Lastly, OVERPRICED! $76 for 1 night ( 2 people, 1 Ute, 1 rooftop tent.”

“When my husband and I first arrived to our cabin, I wiped the kitchen bench down and found it to be filthy dirty. Then I decided to wipe a section of the flooring with some wet paper towel, and the paper towel was black with dirt. The bedding had crisp white sheets, but, when we went to bed and pulled the sheets back, we were shocked to find hair in the bed. The next day, we discovered we had an ant problem with them running up the walls and all over the kitchen bench. My husband went to the office to ask for some insect spray and they told him to speak to the grounds man about it. When he asked the grounds man, he said it was a house keeping problem. No one seemed to care. We ended up having to buy our own surface spray. Overall, our accommodation was very substandard and we wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay there. For $205 per night (off season) it was definitely not worth it. Don’t waste your money! 15/10/2023”

“We just camped here. Toilets are very clean. We are camped inside Kos National Park and hence vehicle pass required. Adds $17 per day to cost. Compensated by the nature surrounding and access to walking tracks. Yes, horse flies are plenty. Various insects visit us regularly. Possums check out camping set up during night times. So, don’t leave any eatable or bins out. Despite all these we enjoyed our camping there just for the atmosphere. It’s not crowded. The stay is memorable. Service in general is top notch. They work hard to maintain the reputation”

In a great location...Close enough to town for convenience and far enough away to avoid the noise. Be mindful as it is surrounded by bushland there are mosquitoes...but a standard repellent works a charm and won't hinder the serenity.”
