I'm not sure what happened here, but the inconsistent times of operation and random closures are too much of a gamble to continue being a customer any longer. “When we originally walked in the young lady wasn't that friendly. When I asked her name, her attitude changed some. If you sit in the booths, the table is far from the seats so since we were the only ones in the restaurant, we slid everything to make it more comfortable. The hummus was really good. The lentil soup is with yellow lentils and very thick. The croutons are good but you must ask for them, they don't come automatically. The falafel Sandwich is good, just with they added hummus to the sandwich. They do not serve pine nuts in the Lebanese tea, bummer. The grape leaves are really small with not much in them for the price. I doubt I will be back.”

“I was in Hoover yesterday and was wanting Japanese food. Usually I get Stix in fultondale but the location in Hoover was closed. That is what lead me to find Sumo’s. Honestly, I think their food was better anyways! I ordered three hibachi chicken dinners with fried rice, one without onions, all to go. They got the order correct and weren’t difficult about the no onion order (which is rare to find)! The food was ready fast and prepared well to travel with. I would definitely go back again! It was a great dinner for me and my family!”

“Mekayla was an amazing server, so much so that I asked how long she had been doing this type of work. She has been at the juicy crab for a year and a half along with three plus years previous experience. She smiled the whole time and was so nice while my mom was talking about her dogs and running around her mother’s restaurant barefoot as a small child taking orders from the truck drivers. It was so nice to meet a real sincere person that enjoys conversation with customers while still ensuring we had all we needed for eating. We both ordered the half pound of head off shrimp and half pound of sausage. She smiled and told us about a deal on it that made the price only $12.99 which was surprising because there is no way that you can cook a meal at home at that price. The spice level was perfect and I like that the shrimp are split down the middle which make getting the shell off a breeze. I will let my friends know about the juicy crab and tell them to ask for Mekayla if she is available. We will definitely come back to eat again and try the Cajun green beans! Shantel is the manager and hostess and when I called with questions… man she went into detailed dishes and what options they offered, drink specials and I really appreciated that she didn’t try and rush me off the phone.”
