“Tuesday, September 19, 2023 First time to eat here. Ate around dinner time. We were able to sit inside no problem. I was surprised at how “fancy” the food looked and tasted. I do recommend trying the food here. I did get a hamburger and my husband got brisket. The fries are good and so is the ranch! The burger is also quite good!”

“Visited this restaurant at the beckoning of my husband. He'd eaten here on several occasions and enjoyed the chicken and the sides. I ordered wings with mac n cheese and turnips. We also had fried green tomatoes.I was surprised because I wasn't expecting the chicken to be spicy, but I should've known because that's my husband's preference. The chicken was cooked perfectly otherwise. I truly enjoyed the tomatoes and turnips most of all. A good time had with the husband. So it was a good experience.”

“Buffet had a variety of vegetable choices.. I would have preferred to have had more than one choice of barbecue options.. but this was lunch, so maybe brisket, ribs, etc. aren’t offered until the dinner buffet..I did enjoy the pulled barbecue pork that I sampled. $14.99 per person which included a drink. Dessert was not included. Family friendly atmosphere. Staff were kind and very attentive. Give Camp 31 BBQ a try if you’re in Brewton, Alabama 📸”

“We had a wonderful dinner at Fat Man's BBQ. My wife had to take me home in a wheelbarrow, haha; it's true to the name, I guess. They have counter service and then you pick up your food when they call the number. They do not normally accept tips, so the price is the actual price here. That was something I haven't experienced in a while. The lady working the counter was very nice and helpful, even though I took a long time picking what I wanted from the menu (since I wanted everything). The wings were A+. The best fried buffalo wings I've had in Alabama. They are cut & fried naked and tossed in a tangy mild buffalo sauce. Reminded me of back home. Everything was delicious. The ribs pulled right off the bone. The pulled pork was so tender; you know it had to have smoked for hours and hours. The mac & cheese was so delicious, I couldn't stop eating it, which is how I ended up in this food coma. This place is a real treat. I hope you check it out!”

Cornbread like momma used to make, none of that sweet corn cake stuff - actual cornBREAD! The Meh: Potato salad I could take it or leave it, not bad. Smoked chicken sandwich is above average but nothing special. BBQ sauce is tangy and seems ketchup based, pretty standard. The bad: They definitely specialize in to go orders, the "dine in" situation is a bit small and leaves a bit to be desired.”

This placed delived on its promise: food was delicious and piping hot, although at $18+ for a BBQ plate (2 small sides) + sweet tea, not cheap by any means. Still. Friendliest service I ever did see, and that's no lie. Smack dab at lunch hour yet was fast and quick. Nice local's spot. Did this used to be a stand-alone joint vs. in a strip mall? “We stopped by here for lunch one day. Folks, I’ve been bbq’ing for 40 years and Pitmaster Jamie has got it down! I saw pictures of his smokers several months ago and knew I had to make the trip at some point in time. The Alabama Rib Shack is a bit out of the way but definitely worth the trip! Super friendly service and some of the best Q ever. Folks, they also cater. I had a combo plate with St. Louis ribs and jerk chicken wow! We also had the pulled pork, tender and tasty. Our sides were collards and mac and cheese. Both well seasoned and delicious. We will definitely be returning. UrbanCowgill July 2023”

“Jackson's Chicken was great! We had the COB, with slaw and tots. Everything was freshly made to order. The COB sauce was house-made and tasty. I added the jalapenos on the sandwich which made it even better. The building is old and needs work but the tables and chairs were clean. The staff was friendly and helpful with the menu. The staff told us they were moving to a new location since their current building was needing so much repair. I highly recommend the COB sandwich (chicken on bread). The chicken was juicy and the breading was crunchy. It was perfect!”
