“From my call to make reservations until checkout, we were treated with the utmost courtesy and friendliness. Our room had an unpleasant odor, possibly from an animal, and we reported it immediately. We were given a spray and the next day a candle was left in our room. Our odor issue was addressed promptly and satisfactorily. (It would be nice if rooms were set aside for pets.) Each time we left or entered the lobby the staff greeted us. In fact, I just finished making another reservation.”

“Stayed here with our family on our way back from Disney. We put on our reservation for our suite that we had a toddler and a baby. Our kids were quietly playing and exploring the space and we got a noise complaint. The employee couldn’t tell us why or what would happen if someone called us in again, but advised we let them run around the lobby instead of our room. I don’t know how you’d expect kids to be quieter in a lobby with a lot more that they can get in to. We’ve stayed at multiple hotels and resorts on our month long trip and have never received a noise complaint before. If you expect children to be silent, don’t allow them on the reservations. If someone is coming with kids, you should place them away from others that don’t have kids with them. The room was not very clean. There were candy underwear made for adult time wedged between the mattresses. No shampoo or conditioner in the room. Stains all over the curtains and lamps. The TV didn’t work correctly. We will not be staying again and would absolutely not recommend this location for anyone traveling with kids unless you want to be made to feel like your kids need to be silent. We will be staying somewhere else when we travel through here again.”

“If you are expecting a typical Days Inn then you will be satisfied. The room I occupied was updated, comfortable, pretty clean and quiet. It had a nice fridge with separate freezer (great for ice packs) and a microwave. Room didn't have a desk but had a leather looking desk chair. There are several buildings in a kind of weird placement but it very well lit at night and felt safe. It looked like most occupants were typical travelers needing a 1 night stay. The breakfast was fast-food type biscuit, egg, sausage, gravy but it tasted pretty good. Also had milk, yogurt, cereal, bananas, oranges, juice, coffee. Downtown Athens, Athens University and surrounding homes a few miles away are very cute and worth a visit. I was there for the storytelling festival which was very nice.”

Right from the beginning, we were impressed by the incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Even before we arrived, they went above and beyond to assist us in finding a different room that better suited our needs. One of the standout features of this hotel is its tucked-away location, which provided more pleasant atmosphere. We found the facility and grounds to be well-maintained and quite decent. In fact, our overall experience at this hotel exceeded our expectations compared to our previous stays at newer establishments in the area. It just goes to show that age doesn't necessarily determine the quality of a hotel stay. All in all, we couldn't be happier with our stay at this hotel. “This place is decent. It’s clean. You can tell the hotel is a little older, but semi updated. Fairly large room. Free parking. 10 minute drive to downtown. Breakfast was adequate. The coffee was terrible though. The worst part is the smell in the hallways and entrance. I don’t know if it’s cleaning supplies or air freshener, but it’s way too strong. I would give this place 4.5 out of 5 stars if I could. Good for a night or two, but far from luxury.”

“So we made plans to go away for the new year. I made reservations, a month in advance, at the Sleep Inn Pelham by Choice Hotels I called the day before we left to modify my reservation and shorten by a day and to also ensure that the room I reserved, accessible room with a ROLL-IN Shower, was indeed the room I was getting. Reni was very helpful with making the changes to my reservation as well as also trying to contact the hotel to check on my room reservation. When she could not reach them she made sure to note on my reservation that due to having a wheelchair I needed the roll-in shower room. While we were on our way to the hotel they call to inform us that they no longer had the room I reserved and that I would be switched to another accessible room. I asked if it had a roll-in shower and she said no but it did have a king size bed and the room I reserved had a queen. Try as my husband and I might we just could not get this person to understand that it's not about the bed it is about the shower and getting the room I reserved. I can understand to a point that the hotel reserves the right to give folks rooms when they check in BUT when notes are made and you expect to get the room you searched high and low for and then to be told "Oh by the way we gave your room away but here is one with a bigger bed" it does me absolutely no good. We informed them that we have no choice but to cancel the reservation and I also informed them that I better not be charged a penny for the room due to their negligence to read a reservation and all included notes. The person we spoke with said she made notes for the manager and offered a half hearted apology. Since we were already on the road we decided to see if there was another hotel in the area that had a roll-in shower room. We happen to come across a Red Roof PLUS+ in Bessemer AL that had a room that suited our needs. I called to double check that they indeed had the room and the front desk folks assured me that if it was on their site it was available. So I quickly reserved it, for about the same as the first hotel, and went on to enjoy the new years! Since this is not the first time Choice Hotels has done this to us we have decided to no longer let them have our business.”

They moved us to another room which was bigger but it had roaches as well and tub held water. It was walking distance from everything.”
