Resort Lodge

4401 McLean Dr, Rogersville, AL 35652, United States

“Resort Lodge Joe Wheeler State Park 4401 McLean Drive Rogersville, Alabama 35652 Hidden gem amidst a very nice state park, with lots of amenities and fun things to keep a Family of Couple entertained. Lodge itself will remind you of going back a few years, but very clean and with a friendly staff. At Check-In, our Receptionist was super friendly and wonderful at explaining both the lodge, and the wide variety of activities and ‘things to do’ in the park. Lots of brochures, free coffee and seating areas in the foyer to sit and relax. Rooms are nicely furnished and each have a balcony with two chairs overlooking the lake. In-room refrigerators, micro-wave oven and dining table with chairs. Very typical hotel room, free WiFi and Direct TV; in-room coffee maker and coffee. The Lodge has a enclosed outdoor swimming pool with lounge chairs. The Lodge has an attached restaurant - Daniella’s, that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner meals. Service was both buffet style and off-the-menu, they also serve beer. Their hours of operation are seasonal, recommend calling prior - regardless, their are several restaurants within a few miles from the park. A complete listing was available at the Reception Desk. The State Park and the Resort Lodge were absolutely phenomenal and well worth the value. We strongly recommend a stay - booking on-line was easy and the rates were well below the cost of an average hotel room.”

“I stayed for just 2 days but it was nice. Very clean showers so important since my hot water heater wasn't working. I had to have repairs done and the guy they recommended was great. Lots of space for dog to run. People working there were great. Thanks”

Buena Vista Motor Coach Resort

23601 Perdido Beach Blvd, Orange Beach, AL 36561, United States

“This was our first stay at the resort and we were running a little late arriving. The staff member on duty called to check on us and then waited 30 min after her shift to escort us to our site, which was so much appreciated. Everyone on the staff was kind, courteous, and welcoming. The resort was immaculate. The lazy river was relaxing and also fun with the kids. The staff hosted a themed dinner at the pool which was great! The beach access was clean and spacious. You have so much room on the beach without the crowds of surrounding area. We can't wait to come back and stay again next fall.”

Bay Palms Rv Resort

15440 Dauphin Island Pkwy, Coden, AL 36523, United States

“Good value; recommended. I've read a couple of negative reviews on Bay Palms and after staying here for 4 nights, I have to disagree with most of the negativity. In my experience, I have found this place to be clean (big dog park, walking around, laundry room, gym and community room), friendly (great super bowl party) and a good value for the price. I haven't used the shower/bathrooms or the pool (still not heated). The folks in the office seem to be friendly and responsive to requests/changes. This place is a 10 minute drive south to all that Dauphin Island has to offer and 30 minutes to downtown Mobile. The guests here are good folks, no trashy sites, not too much road noise, no constantly barking aggressive dogs, etc. Like I said, this isn't the Ritz: the community hall isn't pristine, there's not exquisite gardens on-site, you have to pay for your wifi, but for the price this is a good deal.”

Little Mountain Marina-camping

1001 Murphy Hill Rd, Langston, AL 35755, United States

“My wife and I recently took our grandchildren on a camping trip around Guntersville at Little Mountain Marina Resort. This campground is about 40 miles from my home. We love bike riding while camping along with swimming while camping. My wife and I both have physical limitations and myself am handicapped. I cannot ride a regular bicycle so my wife and I ride e-bikes in order to enjoy time with our young grandchildren. I carried my camper up and got checked in. Then drove back home to get the bicycles and the grandkids. The second day camping, my wife decided to let the kids play putt putt golf and had to go into the office to get the supplies to do so. While in there, an older white guy with glasses questioned her if she was riding a ebike. She told him yes it is. He told her they are “illegal “ to have in the campground in a very rude tone from a male to a female. I had parked my utility trailer next to other trailers because their “lagoon “ was locked up the night before when I got everything in place. Again this guy goes on to chastise my wife about the trailer was not allowed to be parked there and I was supposed to get the key from him. Being a senior citizen myself, this makes no sense to me to be rude to your “paying” guest at a campground. I do not have a problem with golf carts but, to me, there is no difference in having a ebike or a golf cart. This campground could care less about keeping the ground grass mowed but they are overly aggressive about a old handicapped man and woman on a ebike. They don’t mind kids ripping around the campground on golf carts but get all bent out of shape over a old handicapped man and woman riding a ebike. They can’t pick up the phone and use some of their aggression on the trash pick up company about the trash dumpsters running over but heaven forbid a old handicapped man and woman on a ebike. They don’t mind keeping half of the doors locked of the big building where the indoor pool and activities are which is against fire code but, an old handicapped man and woman riding a ebike is terrible. They do keep an old broom out in the gazebo with hopes that the guest will sweep down all the spider webs that are full of dead willow flies and dirt dobber nest (they don’t but why should paying guest do that) but it is a really bad thing for a old handicapped man and woman to ride e-bikes on the property. The children’s play ground may be in unsafe and bad repair but it is “illegal “ for a old handicapped man and woman to ride a ebike in this campground. If it is such a nuisance for old handicapped people to ride e-bikes at this campground they should post it in their rules online, and have a large sign outside warning that old handicapped people had better not break the law with those illegal e-bikes on their premises. I would not have stayed here if I could have gotten my money back but it does say that after you pay there is no refunds under no circumstances! Needless to say, this old handicapped man will not stay here again and I will take that dangerous and illegal ebike with me somewhere else to camp!”
