“Excellent little spot for an amazing breakfast. Unique breakfast combinations that all sound delicious. Fresh lobster eggs Benedict was my choice and it did not disappoint. Perfect amount of lobster and hollandaise sauce with nicely poached eggs. They also have different flavors of mimosas, so I tried the apple cider mimosa. It came rimmed with cinnamon sugar and it was excellent!!”

“My husband and I have dined at Millwrights on the bridge and in the tavern a number of times, but our most recent experience blew us away. We sat in the dining room for our anniversary and the attention to detail to make us feel special made our night feel like a dream. The service, food, drinks and views were impeccable (and I have to add that we are both difficult to impress). We ordered the short rib and duck breast and both agreed it was the best we’d ever had. Millwrights also sources their food locally which is something we both greatly appreciate. We look forward to our next visit, thank you for taking care of us!”

“Really disappointed in this purchase. We ventured out of our area for a nice change. We chose them based on the great reviews but we definitely can’t say the same. The chicken cutlets are frozen patties, the “Deluxe” combo was anything but deluxe, maybe 5 pieces of meat and no pickles as ordered. I’d hate to see what the regular combo looks like. The best part of our order was the store bought coleslaw and tortellini salad, $4.99 each for 6oz of product in an 8oz container. One reviewer said it’s the best deli in New Haven county.....that’s not saying much for new Haven deli’s. Do yourselves a favor and go up to Carbone’s so you see what an actual deli is. Next time we’ll just stick to Goldie’s right down the street and save the $75. Sorry guys.”

”On the outside, looks like a simple hole in the wall restaurant. However once you walk in you’re engulfed in the delicious and comfortable atmosphere! The cooks were hustling and bustling while the owner, (im assuming the owner), welcomed us in with a huge smile! Massive menu- Homemade! Tons of options (breakfast, lunch, dinner) with yummy descriptions. Healthy/lighter options also! Cleanliness- Super clean, spacious, no bathroom btw Price- Everything was well worth it because of the quality and heart they put in. ”Finally ended up at a place I can order fried clams from. Luckily, we got here early, because apparently you really should have reservations because they get busy and fill up quickly. So, they ended up having some room at the bar for us to sit down and eat. Mikki was behind the bar and she was just awesome. She was friendly and attentive, and at the same time, a busy & a very hard worker. She is impressive… Once we were seated, we were quickly served some tasty bread. Our meals were pretty good, although I order fried clams and wished they were a little crispier, but I never complain & send food back. I don’t think it’s a good idea and don’t trust it, so I tend to go with the flow. The coleslaw was very good. I had a couple of beers and they were both ice-cold. Besides the restaurant, there’s a market on the other side, where you can purchase fresh seafood items to take home, or wherever…”

I ordered the exact same meals (stuffed Portuguese toast for my kids, dirty hash for myself). The hash brown was simultaneously overcooked and undercooked (crispy to a fault and a mashed potato texture underneath). The Portuguese toast was not quite toasted, the bread was just bread with a thick slab of cream cheese in the middle. Overall, I am dissapointed with today's visit, though the hot chocolate was excellent.”

”If you are on a road trip along 84, you must stop here. It’s a little out of your way but worth it. You can get a more quintessential taste of American than this diner. The moment we walked in, locals were chatting with the workers behind the counter and one of the employees looks at the car we pulled up in and says “you are not from around here” and proceeds to talk to us. Based on recommendations we got the hot pastrami mikes burger onion rings and a milk shake. Everything was delicious and priced reasonably. My kind of place.”

When we lived in northern CT LuAnn's was a local favorite spot for my now husband and I, but since moving to more central CT, we haven't been able to treat ourselves as regularly to their delicious bakery items and wide varieties of cafe style drinks in front of their cozy fireplace! So when we got married at the beginning of September this year, we already knew we wanted to hire LuAnn's as one of our vendors! Even though we had lots of rain on our wedding day, Luann's brightened our special day with their delicious gluten free cupcakes delivered in Cooper, their 1970s Volkswagen beetle parked outside our venue! Josh arrived early and the line to get a cupcake was buzzing with excitement, with each friend and family member excited about what cupcake to choose! We printed a sign displaying the flavors we had selected (3 chocolate and 5 vanilla based flavors from a 3 page list) so everyone knew their options but all choices were superb! The cupcakes were perfectly displayed against the vibrant green color of the vintage car with the trunk popped open, with Josh engaging with our guests the entire time! While we know a cake cutting is a traditional staple for weddings, we wanted something different and we could not recommend LuAnn's more! Please, if you are near the Ellington area and looking for quality made food and drinks, stop in to Luann's! AND if you are looking for an incredible addition to your already beautifully planned wedding, definitely consider hiring LuAnn's for their fabulous cupcakes!”

”EDIT: Food Poisoning: The below was my initial review Of this restaurant. However, between 4-6 hours after eating, my wife began vomiting. She had a stiff neck, headache and body aches. ORIGINAL RATING: This is a nice restaurant in downtown Middletown with large indoor seating, bar and outdoor dining. Wonderful place to do a large event under the tent with its own mobile bar and round tables. The bar makes quality drinks to standard and has the LARGEST selection of mixed drinks of any restaurant in all of Middletown. Their pasta dishes are rich, savory and delicious! . Personally, I would choose to pair some of their entrees with a different type of pasta. For example, the Veal Scallopini Luce Combo is served with orecchiette, but It would be amazing if instead they used a nice gemelli or pappardelle to absorb all the delicious sauce instead of just pooling in the orecchiette.
