“Bed was extremely uncomfortable. There was no support and we could not sleep. Had to check out a day early because I was in so much back pain. The receptionist said they would offer me compensation but they did not. Almost $300 for one night and leaving in agony. Pillows also flat and no shape. Not proper conditions for a hotel.”

“Let me start by saying how lovely the lobby is and the hotel itself. Our room was large, spacious and well laid out. Loved the bathroom design. We were very comfortable there after a long drive. Now for the criticism. I have been in more comfortable beds. It was too soft and squishy. I have to say the pillows are awful. I expected much better pillows so didn’t bring my own in from the car. That was so disappointing. They were hard and lumpy. Additionally, the shower was lukewarm. Thankfully warm enough to shower but truly not hot. BTW, we are staying in a Tru Hilton right now and the beds are very comfortable and the pillows are as close to my own so it wasn’t necessary to bring ours in. I think all of the above are complaints that the hospitality industry are loathe to hear. After all, there’s nothing like a good nights sleep. I hope they can make some improvements to this beautiful hotel.”

“Can't say enough AMAZING things about Hotel Marcel. From the 5am check-in, to the restaurant, to the rooms, and especially the staff. Our time here was the best hotel all around experience we have probably ever had. The rooms are impeccably clean and the materials used during construction are very stylish and of high end quality. The rooms have all the latest technology and everything functions like it should. Food in the restaurant was great, as was the service. Brian at the desk went above and beyond, definitely a legend compared to so many front desk experiences in the past. The lovely girl that checked us in was also super sweet and very accommodating, I unfortunately did not catch her name. Long review because they deserve much praise, in today's environment, they are a standout breath of fresh air. I have looked at this historical building since I was a child and to see what they were able to turn it into and have the opportunity to stay, was a honor 🎖 Keep up the awesome work Hotel Marcel!!!”

”Rooms are very loud. Music can be heard on the 3rd floor. When our room neighbors flushed their toilet, I thought it was our toilet. We needed extra sheets for our 2 year old so he could sleep on the pull out couch. They couldn’t even be bothered to bring them up to the room. The pool faces north and there no lights on during the day. It was nearing sunset and with the tall buildings and early sunset, Pool was getting dark so I called the front office to see if we could have some lights turned on. GM came in and told me no and they would turn on eventually. He changed his mind 5 minutes later and adjusted the timer so the lights turned on. Pool could have been 3-4 degrees warmer. Rooms were clean, if that’s all you care about, you are good there. Restaurant attached has slow service and is expensive. Sort of disappointing holiday inn experience.”

”I just love staying at this Hotel so much. The staff is just amazing to their guests. The rooms are nice, great breakfast. Overall just amazing for what you pay for. I will not be coming back after the way I saw this man speak to the front desk lady. I’ve stayed here multiple times with my husband but what I witnessed today was disgusting. This older white man who works here. He had uniform on and spoke to the front desk girl disgustingly. I can tell the younger girl working the front desk is young I’ve seen her a couple times. Very sweet kind girl. He spoke to her very rudely. That to me isn’t right. It’s not the first time I’ve seen this man speak or act rudely. After what I witnessed this place needs to get this man in line and teach him how to speak properly and have respect for younger girls. If she was my daughter I would fix him right up. Not okay behavior and will never stay at this hotel again. I will be letting the management know.”

”Stayed here for a week but would have liked to stay somewhere else all things now considered. There are rails RIGHT next to the hotel that will affect your sleep regardless of what floor you may be on. The parking garage access is awkward and not easy to get out of in the morning. The key card reader didn't work at the time I was there, so you had to honk or call the desk to get out of the garage. The roof top bar is okay, but there are better places and options. My 2 cents. I am a gold member, the only reason I mention that is I stay at a LOT of Marriott locations and this one is not one I will return to.”
