New Britain Museum Of American Art

56 Lexington St, New Britain, CT 06052, United States

“A world class museum from the wonderful selections to the zen-like (at least to me) physical space. Quite frankly, I was surprised and greatly impressed. Never thought I’d see something like this in CT. It’s the first museum in the US dedicated to American artists. The curator(s) have done an amazing job. Warhol, Okeefe, Moses, Sargent, Remington, Rockwell, et al. are all represented. Had lunch at the beautiful cafe overlooking the park. We visited on a Thus. No line to get in. There were three of us. Clinton library offers free tickets for up to four folks. You have to reserve those tickets first. It was a great day.”

“A gorgeous old building, located on beautifully kept grounds overlooking a picturesque section of the Connecticut river. The building has been restored to it's original furnishings, including the handsome bar area where you can get drink and enjoy it on the balcony overlooking the river. The bar serves drinks that have been crafted to reflect the times / themes / place of the marquee show, allowing you to enjoy the experience with all your senses. We saw the show Summerstock, apt in the fact that the area in which it was played is similar to the story itself. The singing and dancing was incredible, and the show starred award winning Broadway actors. We drove over an hour to the venue, and it was completely worth the drive. Highly recommended.”

“Was honored to see The Sherlock Carol. What an amazing play in such a beautiful theater. The seating, the sound and the staff could not have have been any better. What a perfect place to have such an incredibly written play. You truly made my Christmas! Thank you!”

Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center

( 8 reviews )

110 Pequot Trail, Ledyard, CT 06338, United States

“They put a lot of money into this museum and it shows. There weren’t many people here though. It was almost empty except for me and a 4th grade field trip. I enjoyed my visit and recommend the movie about the Pequot War. Interesting history. The tower had a nice view also.”

Lutz Children's Museum

247 S Main St, Manchester, CT 06040, United States

”Staff: 5 stars Space/size of area: 3 stars Price: 3 stars I read that this was a small space but it didn’t think it was just going to be one main room. Granted they fit a lot in. Overall, it was fun for an hour or two but we probably won’t come back but the kids had funny and that’s what matters. Reservations required, so you reserve online and pay when you get there. Pros: - Staff was awesome and attentive. They had some animals out and they let the kids pet them - Decent amount of interactive stations - Live animal section was cool Cons: - With parents/grandparents watching kids this place can fill up and be busy/crowded very quickly - Pricing- for $40 for two hours I kind of felt like it was a a lot. I get it, but just my opinion, especially when they close in the middle of the day and it’s not big enough to even make a full day out of it if you wanted. - No hand sanitizer in any of the stations we visited. Don’t usually care but in small space it would be nice to have. - It’s definitely well loved and a lot of the areas are pretty worn.”

”Very much enjoyed the tour of the home and the education received. A bit expensive but the upkeep likely requires that cost. This woman did so much more than just write amazing and times challenging books. Check out the Katherine Day home next door too. Not open to the public but beautiful from the outside.”

Warner Theatre
4.6
( 10 reviews )

68 Main St, Torrington, CT 06790, United States

”This theater was really beautiful and very lovely to experience a concert in. Seats were comfortable, all at a slight angle so you could see the stage easily. Bathrooms were very lovely and accessible. Sunday was free street parking, the Warner theater has a small lot I think in the back of the building, but the tour buses took up most of it, but even if you had to pay for parking, there was a lot available on the street.”
